Chapter 2 Premonition

Kira walked out of the cave cautiously and found that she was in the primeval jungle, surrounded by towering trees.

It was completely different from the place she was live streaming in before.

The place seemed as though it was of another world. As she gazed into the distance, fragments of memory suddenly flashed through her mind. Her memory was hazy and unclear. It was like looking through a broken glass.

Nevertheless, the memory revealed that someone was chasing her.

The one who was chasing her appeared to be a man wrapped in beast fur, just like the one inside who was knocked out cold.

'Could it be that I traveled through time while I was exploring the wild?

And then, somehow, I ended up in a primitive world?

Seriously? That's not only highly unlikely, but that's also far-fetched.'

Yes, Kira liked to live-stream her jungle exploration, but she never once thought about exploring the primitive world. What was happening at the moment was beyond her imagination.

While scanning her surroundings, she noticed that there was a trail at the entrance of the cave. That implied that people often walked in and out of it.

At that moment, Kira happened to look down and saw that her shoes were gone. However, she was not barefoot. She was wearing a pair of slippers made out of straw. 'Maybe the primitive people isn't as stupid we thought, ' she mused.

At least they knew how to make shoes.

Regardless, she must first figure out the situation here.

Just when she was about to walk forward, she heard a grunt from behind.

It turned out that the man whom she had pushed was stirring.

On the ground, Keith slowly opened his eyes. Except for a little headache, he felt fine.

What happened to him?

His eyes that were once bright and full of vitality were now gloomy and dimmed. Was he already dead?

He looked at his hands and feet. He was still alive and in one piece. But... he could not believe what he was seeing.

For all he knew, his body was full of wounds and scars. But, for some reason, it was now clean and unwounded.

He could still remember what had happened to him many years ago. His left leg broke while he was trying to save his people. But now, his leg was fine and unscathed.

What's more, didn't he fall off a cliff?

How could he still be alive? He looked around and recognized the cave. This was where he used to live in the past.

At that moment, Keith stood up and groggily walked out of the cave. Seeing that Kira was at the entrance and was about to flee, he hurried to catch up with her.

He trudged through the uneven pathway and reached her shortly after.

He walked over to Kira and grabbed her arm, which made her turn around and look at him. With an inexplicable look on his face, he gazed at her as though trying to figure out something.

'Why is she here?' he wondered.

Because of her, Keith was reminded of what had happened in the past. The memory of it made his blood boil and teeth grit in anger.

When he first met her in the forest, he fell in love with her at first sight. As a result, he took her home in hopes of building a family with her. However, she adamantly refused him all the time.

Even so, he did not force her to cooperate. He instead treated her well, hoping that his efforts would someday pay off and make her accept him.

But later on, even though she stayed in his cave, ate the food he had worked hard to hunt and prepare, slept on his stone bed, she was still unwilling to copulate with him.

What surprised him even more was that...

After all he had done for her, she still chose to collude with the cunning tribesmen from the Edgars.

They did not only steal the food the Vincenzos kept, but they also occupied the latter's lands.

As a result, Keith and his people were forced to move out of their own lands. While doing so, they encountered a natural disaster along the way, and Keith fell down the cliff trying to save his tribe.

At the thought of those painful memories, Keith grabbed Kira, not to make her stay but to make her leave.

However, as he looked into her eyes, he sensed something wrong.

The woman in front of him seemed different. She seemed much younger than he remembered. Actually, she looked exactly the same as the time he first laid his eyes on her.

Keith recalled the last time he saw her. The Edgars had abandoned her, and her body was covered in wounds and scars. Her once pale and porcelain-like skin had become bruised and wrinkled. She was not as young and beautiful as she once was.

All of a sudden, he let go of her hand and looked around the place.

This was indeed the cave he used to live in.

Could it be that none of it had happened, and it was all just a dream?

Perhaps it was God telling him not to keep this female around; otherwise what had happened in his dream would come to life.

Kira looked at the strange man warily, afraid she would get beaten up for what she had done to him a while ago.

He must be angry at her for pushing him, or perhaps he would force her to copulate the hard way?

At the thought of this, Kira was terrified that tears welled up in her eyes. However, what the man said next deeply shocked her.

"Leave here and don't come back again."

Kira was expecting the man to hurt her, but instead, he let her go.

After saying those words, the man turned around and left her alone.

Keith had a premonition a while ago. If all those events were brought about by this female, he might as well drive her away from the very beginning.

The image of her lying on the cold ground almost lifeless appeared in his mind. He surmised that it must be retribution.

Not wanting to talk to her anymore, he left without saying a word.

He was eager to see his family and people, so he decided to go to his Mama's cave.

He wanted to make sure if those scenes were only a dream and if his people were alive and well.

Meanwhile, Kira watched the man ran down the mountain. She was perplexed at the sudden change in his attitude. It was as though he suddenly felt disgusted at her. Why was that?

Nevertheless, that was the least of her concern. What she should worry about was her safety. She was in a primeval jungle, after all.

If she stayed here any longer, she might meet with danger.

Besides, even though she knew a lot about survival tips in the wild, she must admit, her knowledge and practice were far from enough to survive on her own. It did not help that she was in the 21st century. Right now, she had no clothes, no food, and no shelter. Nothing.
