Chapter 6 Domestic Violence

It had been three long years since Penny and Dolores last saw each other. Although they constantly spoke on the phone while Penny was away, it wasn't compared to being together. When they sat down facing each other again, it felt like a dream to them. They had really missed each other.

The two best friends chatted happily for a long time. Unsurprisingly, they had a lot of catching up to do. They told each other stories about all that happened in the past few years.

"My uncle has just passed away and my grandmother is old. Now the Lou Group is facing a serious crisis and my family needs a lot of support. I had to agree to marry Philip since the union can bring stability to the family. There was no other way around it." A cold glint appeared in Penny's eyes at this moment. She lowered her eyes and took a sip of lemonade. Then she said emotionlessly, "But I still hate him with every fiber of my being!"

"Well, I know it's hard for you."

When Penny and Philip had broken up three years ago, the two of them had a fierce quarrel at their last meeting. It seemed like they wanted each other's heads. At dawn the next morning, Penny secretly ran away from the L City. Dolores took part in the planning and made her escape successful.

Just before Penny got on the plane, she called her best friend and told her that she would never come back to this city for the rest of her life.

However, the future was unpredictable. Penny had no idea that her fate was tied to this city and the person she hated the most.

Just as the two friends continued to chat, Samuel pushed the door from outside and walked into the cafe. When he got to Penny's side, he stood as still as a statue and said, "Mrs. Yu, your husband is waiting for you outside."

For more than a month now, everyone had addressed Penny as Mrs. Yu. However, she was still not used to the new title.

She really hated everything related to the name, 'Yu'. Most times, she couldn't help but frown when someone called her that name.

"Phillip is here?" Dolores queried and stared at Samuel for a while. Afterwards, she turned her head to look out of the window and saw a black Bentley parked outside.

The back seat window was opened halfway and Dolores could only see Philip's blurry silhouette.

She turned to her friend and said in a strange tone, "Sure enough, you both are newlyweds. He will always follow you wherever you go."

Penny raised her head to look at her friend. With a faint smile, she asked, "Do you mean to say that he appears everywhere I go like a haunting ghost? You can see that he's getting more annoying by the day, right?"

As Samuel stood next to them, he pretended not to hear their words. He wasn't here to listen to their gossip. Philip had just ordered him to pick Penny up. In summary, he didn't want to be involved in something that was in no way his business.

Sitting in the car, Philip saw with the corner of his eyes that his wife was walking towards him slowly and majestically.

Since Penny was an elementary school dancer as a child, her walk and general mannerisms were graceful.

She was wearing a beautiful long dress with a thin belt around her slender waist today. Her long hair was curly and it was loosely tied. As she walked elegantly, her hips swayed from side to side.

Although Philip didn't look at her face, he knew that she had a charming smile now.

He gritted his teeth and suddenly had an indescribable feeling in his heart.

All of a sudden, Penny's figure flashed and he couldn't see her through the corner of his eyes anymore.

Philip turned his head to see what happened. He saw Samuel holding Penny's arm as she struggled to stand upright on her high heels. She also had a painful expression on her face.

It seemed like she had accidentally sprained her ankle. However, she was provocatively leaning against Samuel who was just trying to help her. Her long black hair became loose and fell across her shoulders. A few strands also brushed Samuel's face and he was caught off guard.

Her hair smelled so good that it sent a satisfying sensation through his whole body.

Samuel and Penny were the same age and they had grown up together in the same house. It wasn't surprising that he had a crush on her. Now that she leaned against him "accidentally", he blushed helplessly.

"Mrs. Yu, are you okay?"

"Ah! I just sprained my ankle. It hurts so much!" she replied in a soft and sweet voice. She also had a pitiful expression on her face.

Philip quickly got off the car and strode over.

With a frown on his face, he angrily pulled Penny towards him and she staggered.

"Shame on you! When will you stop being so childish? Don't forget that you are my wife now!"

Philip was a strong man and his pull affected her. At first, she only pretended to have sprained her ankle and deliberately leaned on Samuel just to provoke her husband.

Now that her wrist was forcefully grabbed by the crazy man who had rushed over in rage, her delicate body couldn't withstand such a great force.

Indeed, the fake play became a real one in a split second. Penny felt a crack in her right foot, fell to the ground and couldn't move.

All of a sudden, her face twisted in pain and hot tears streamed down her pale cheeks. She shouted at her husband, "Aaargh! I'm going to sue you for domestic violence! I will take pictures of what you have just done to me and post them on a micro-blog, so the world can see your true colors!"

She really sprained her ankle!

In the hospital.

The doctor applied an ointment to massage Penny's sprained ankle and she was in so much pain. It was red and slightly swollen. During the ride here, she cried profusely.

Now Philip, the lunatic and the source of her predicament had his hands in his pocket and he watched the whole process without any sympathy. He even had a mocking smirk at the corners of his lips and his eyes were expressionless.

He didn't feel guilty for what he did to her. Instead, he thought she deserved it for behaving so loosely with another man.
