Chapter 10 You Will Only Remember When It Hurts

Time was suspended for a moment. Then, Phillip snapped out of his trance and rushed out. At the end of the corridor, he saw the crazy woman run out of the room on the third floor with a shard of ceramic tightly held in her hand and hurl herself toward Penny.

The two women came together in a wild tussle. Penny's face was pale and held a tinge of panic.

She was only clad in a black nightdress with suspenders. Two scratches ran down her fair arm, slowly dripping blood on the floor.

"Sister! Calm down!" she cried out in a trembling voice.

In terms of strength, a normal person naturally could not fight against a deranged person who was out of control. She used up all of her strength, but she could only retreat one step after another.

Seeing Penny backed up against the wall, Phillip cursed through gritted teeth, "You deserve it!" Then, he picked up a vase next to him and smashed it against the back of the woman's head.

The madness in the woman's eyes instantly drained away.

With her wide open eyes and long black hair falling in disarray down her back, she looked just like a ghost.

Phillip stared at her with a cold expression on his face and let her fall to the ground with a loud thud.

Blood flowed from the gash at the back of the woman's head, and Penny herself was bleeding as well. After calming down a little, she crawled over awkwardly toward the unconscious woman and nudged at her.

The other lay still, showing no response like she was dead.

Penny's frightened eyes flew up to scan Phillip's face. The man slowly reached out a hand and raised her chin with his slender fingers.

They stared at each other. Penny could see a storm brewing in Phillip's eyes.

Suddenly, a bright light surrounded them.

Upon hearing the noise in the room, the butler ran out of his room in his pajamas and turned on the incandescent lamp in the corridor.

There was a large puddle of blood on the ground.

"Mrs. Yu, you..."

"Ask Dr. Chen to come here and deal with the mad woman's wound. Also, add two more locks to that room. I don't want to see this happen again." Phillip gave the orders to the butler with a grim face.

Then, taking one look at Penny's expressionless face, he squatted down and scooped her up from the ground.

Phillip took out the medicine box from his room and started briskly applying some medicine on Penny's arm.

The patient hissed several times, but instead of becoming gentler, his movements became even harsher.

"Will my sister be okay?" Penny asked in a low voice. She couldn't help but worry about her sister.

"Don't worry. Even if you die, she won't," retorted Phillip, looking up from her wound to her face.

"You're talking nonsense!"

"Is this your attitude toward your savior?" After saying that, he unceremoniously pressed her wound hard again.

"Ouch!" Penny was afraid of pain the most, but Phillip was hell-bent on fighting her. His cold, arrogant stare clearly flashed a warning: "Only when you feel pain will you remember."

At that moment, Penny was itching to hit him with her uninjured arm.

"You left the door unlocked on purpose, didn't you?" Phillip pinned her with his wintry stare and mercilessly exposed her, "You're not good at acting in front of me. She ran out of the room, and it didn't matter whether she attacked you or me-your goal was achieved, right?"

However, Penny was not in the least bit cowed by his aggressive stare. Instead, she smiled and remarked casually, "Oh? Then tell me-what's my goal?"

His jaw tight, Phillip stared at her delicate but somewhat provocative face for about three seconds and then suddenly threw the cotton swab on her face.
