Chapter 6 Domestic Violence

Jett felt like a huge question mark popped out from his head. He was totally confused.

"Your sister got married today." It was also difficult for Talon to say that. But he knew his wife and daughter would be unwilling to tell Jett that. "But not with Neil Xia."

"What? What do you mean?" His father's words confused Jett even more. The longer they sat in their living room, the more questions he had.

"Anyway, I'll only stay here for a week. I'm going to move to your new brother-in-law's house next week." Bonnie reached out to stroke Jett's head. "It would be up to you to take care of Mom and Dad, okay? You have to take care of yourself, too."

A week later, Gavin sent someone to pick up Bonnie from the Meng household. Jett thought it would be the first time he would see his brother-in-law, but alas. It wasn't meant to be.

While Jett was still trying to figure out what kind of person his new brother-in-law was, Bonnie was already in Gavin's office with her luggage in hand.

His first words to her as a newly married couple were, "Don't you know how to smile?" Gavin sneered at her. "I'd rather go to a brothel. At least, the women there would greet people with a smile."

Gavin's words were aimed to hurt. The corners of Bonnie's mouth twitched in annoyance. In the end, she pursed her mouth into a thin smile that made Gavin even more uncomfortable.

"You're comparing your wife with those women? What, are you like a whoremaster or something?"

Her voice had the perfect mix of innocence and sultry that heated Gavin's blood.

Surprised at the flare of attraction, Gavin put down his golden pen. For the first time, he looked at his new wife up and down carefully. It was as if he was finally interested in getting to know the woman he had married.

"That was eloquent of you," Gavin said as he raised one eyebrow at her. His face had the perfect bone structure most men would envy. He was quite handsome if he weren't so cunning.

This time, Bonnie curled her lips into a dark smile. "Now that I'm married to you, can I ask what had happened between you and my father?"

She wondered what could push this powerful man into doing all these things.

"I am not under any obligation to answer your question."

Her question wiped the smile on his face. Apparently, the kitten had claws. He narrowed his eyes at Bonnie.

The bright sunshine from the windows bathed Bonnie with a golden glow. She looked like a goddess ready to wage a war.

She shrugged her shoulders at his answer. "We're already married. Why couldn't I ask you?"

"That's not what you should be asking!" Frowning, Gavin threw the key of their house on the table. "Go back home. Stop bothering me here."

The metal key bounced off the table and hit Bonnie's head. It made a sharp sting on her skin. Taking a deep breath, Bonnie touched her forehead. She looked at her fingers and saw some blood.

Blood slid down her eyebrow until it blocked her left eye. With blurry vision, she sensed Gavin stood up from his seat behind the table.

'What now? Is he going to slap me now?' Bonnie pressed hard on her forehead.

To her surprise, Gavin stood in front of her and gently placed a Band-Aid on her wound.

"Why are you standing still?! Why didn't you dodge the key?"

Annoyed, Gavin pressed the Band-Aid on Bonnie's wound hard. The pain made her grimace.

"Gavin Zhuo..." Bonnie sensed the change in atmosphere between them.

"What's the matter?" Gavin asked as he took out a few pieces of tissue from his table. He handed them to Bonnie.

"Clean yourself up before you go out. I don't want others to think we're involved in domestic violence." 'But isn't this exactly domestic violence?' Bonnie thought.
