Chapter 6 Met Him Again

The next day, Heidy and Jack went to the Xu family's mansion together. When Jack's mother, Amy, saw them entering, she greeted them excitedly, "Jack, Heidy, you are back."

Heidy quietly walked into the living room and bowed to them. "Dad, Mom."

Jack's father, Jacob Xu, glanced at her indifferently. "I heard from Jack that you've decided to divorce him? Don't forget that you have owned the Hua Group today, just because of Jack. Your company has been a huge mess. If Jack and the JA Group didn't help you out, your company would have been bankrupted. Hua Group wouldn't have made it to one of the top listed companies in A City."

Heidy responded with a frown, "Jack might be the general manager, but it's not like without him we cannot run the company. Hua Group and JA Group have been in a cooperative relationship; it doesn't mean one cannot survive without the help of the other. Hua Group is also important to JA Group. However, as for my divorce with Jack, it has nothing to do with the company matters. I am divorcing him because Jack has betrayed me with my sister."

"Alright then. But if you divorce him, he will have the right to claim the half of Hua Group's shares," said Jacob Xu calmly.

Heidy paled at Jacob's words. Her eyes widened at the realization. She said decisively, "It's impossible. I am the only one to inherit Hua Group after Dad. He has established the company with painstaking efforts. I am not giving it away."

Jacob smirked, "It's not up to you to decide. Heidy, think it over whether you want to divorce him."

Amy sensed the atmosphere turning serious and awkward. She quickly held Jacob's hand to stop him and said with a smile, "Let's not talk about these things now. Today, we are having a little reunion. Let's enjoy the time together. Heidy, I can only assure you that Jack has my teaching. He is capable of keeping you well."

Heidy clenched her fists to refrain herself from bursting out. It was very clear from Jacob Xu's words that if she divorced Jack, JA Group would stop supporting Hua Group. He intentionally brought up the matter to warn Heidy. Moreover, Heidy was very much unwilling to give half of her shares to Jack.

After they all fell silent, Amy stood up all of a sudden and exclaimed, "Hearst, come on in. Everyone is here."

Heidy's eyebrows immediately furrowed hearing Hearst's name. She turned around and was surprised to see the man approaching. Was he a member of Xu family?

Amy held Hearst's hand with a smile and introduced him, "This is Hearst Tan, my younger brother. According to my father, he's a successful entrepreneur. Jack, Heidy, call him Uncle."

'What?' Heidy's face darkened as she bit her lower lip. 'Hearst is Jack's uncle?' Never, she had expected that. This piece of information was too much to take in.

Jack was also surprised, but a moment later he acknowledged him "Uncle, nice to meet you. Have we met before?"

Hearst pulled away his hand from Amy's hold and put them into his trousers' pockets. He then responded indifferently, "In the hospital."

A realization dawned on Jack and he said with a smile, "Oh, yes. We met in the hospital. Mom has told me before you're a powerful businessman. Today, I finally got the chance to meet you. Uncle, can I know your company's name? Which industry are you in? I'd like to know about it more."

"It's just a small company. Not worth mentioning," Hearst answered briefly. He didn't want to reveal anything right now.

Heidy threw him a sharp look and a tight-lipped smile. "I never knew that Jack has such a mysterious uncle." She stressed on the word "uncle" deliberately.

Hearst retuned her gaze. He got her point clearly but replied in a composed manner, "It's just that we seldom met each other in the past."

Amy wanted to pull his hand but she hesitated. After an awkward short pause she suggested, "Everyone is here. Let's have dinner now."

Heidy shot him another deadpanned look. There was a fire burning in her heart.
