Chapter 9 Be my girlfriend

Daina's heart sank to her stomach, it was barely her first day and she was in so much trouble already, What did Lucian say to Mr. Robertson? What if he said something that could make them kick her out? What would Mama say? Those were the few questions that ran through Diana's mind, she had underestimated Lucian's powers and she was here asking God for a second chance and swearing it would never happen again. Diana stop, you're always assuming the worst calm down, what did Mama say, think positive not negative, She encouraged herself.

"Good afternoon Mr. Robertson" Daina greeted trying to stay as calm as possible.

"You're the prodigy, Daina Smith?" Mr. Robertson asked standing up "It's a pleasure to finally meet you," He said.

"Believe me the pleasure is all mine," Daina said as they shook hands.

"Please have a seat," Mr. Robertson said and Lucian helped her adjust the seat beside him.

"Thank you," Daina said as she joined them to sit it was then she saw the chessboard Mr. Robertson and Lucian were playing.

"I assume you have met my grandson already," Mr. Robertson said.

"Who?" Daina asked puzzled.

"The one sitting right beside you," Mr. Robertson revealed.

"I can see where the good looks run in the family," Daina complimented.

"Their grandmother was the real charmer, so where is Victoria?" Mr. Robertson asked.

"She said she's looking for Damian who I'm guessing is your grandson too," Daina said and Mr. Robertson nodded.

"Lucian was just telling me ..." Daina swallowed a glop of saliva when she heard those words from Mr. Robertson "How good of a character you are off and in the pitch," Mr. Robertson said, what a relief that was, Daina said to herself.

"He did?" She asked surprisingly and stared at Lucian weirdly.

"He also said you would fit in the school and Wolvestien High has found a valuable asset," Mr. Robertson added.

"I hope I don't prove him wrong," Daina replied with a smile.

"I wanted to officially welcome you to Wolvesltien High" Mr. Robertson announced.

"I'm delighted sir," Daina replied.

Just then Mr. Robertson's telephone rang which he picked up and Daina and Lucian were exchanging weird eye contact.

"Orion is here?" Mr. Robertson had his secretary on the phone, Daina could read the rage in Lucian's eyes when he heard the name and when he turned to look at her she just looked away "Bring him in," Mr. Robertson said hanging up.

"Daina I'm afraid our meeting is cut short why don't Lucian give you a tour of the school," Mr. Robertson suggested.

"That's kind of you sir but Miss. Victoria and my friend Sheila have given me a fair share of the tour," Daina said.

"But I insist," Mr. Robertson said.

"Okay, it was a pleasure to have finally met you, Sir," Daina said, standing up.

"Goodbye Grands," Lucian said as he and Daina left the office, on the way they met a man who was coming in their opposite direction, Lucian and the man exchanged death glares without uttering a word and the silence continued even when the man left, it was only broken when they were in the Hallway.

"Thank you," Daina said but it fell on deaf ears "But why?" Daina asked.

"I saw you and Sha Sha talking so I decided to go put in a good word before she gets you out of the school," Lucian said.

"But why?" Daina asked.

"Because you'll be my girlfriend," Lucian said.

"Wait what?" Daina asked confused.

"You said it yourself, you think I'm Cute," Lucian said.

"No way, I was complimenting your grandfather," Daina said "You and I are never gonna happen, I'm getting sick just thinking about it"

"You sure?" Lucian said touching her chin, staring deep into her soul, he grabbed her waist and pushed her hair backward, Daina's heart kept beating fast, his lavender scent grew stronger as he leaned in, how would his lips taste like? Diana was about to find out or maybe not

"I didn't say it was for free," Lucian said whispering into Daina's ear and Daina immediately pushed him, he chuckled at her action.

"Isn't that prostitution?" Daina asked.

"Nah, it's acting" Lucian replied.

"Why do you need a fake girlfriend so much? No girl can put up with you, huh?" Daina asked.

"Real funny, I believe you have met my ex," Lucian reminded "In case you haven't figured my grandfather wants me and you dating and I want him to think so, so I'm willing to give you ten thousand dollars just for a month of acting," Lucian said.

"And that makes me a gold digger so no," Daina said resisting the tempting offer.

"I will double it," Lucian said.

"No" Daina stood her ground. "Not for all the money in the world"

"You know where to find me if you change your mind," Lucian said leaving, Daina turned around to see Stefan watching, before Daina could say anything he had turned around and left, Wait? Is he jealous? Daina asked herself and giggled.

"He likes me," Diana concluded.
