Exquisite buildings, terrible traffic causing work ers to panic, car honking, drivers cursing, Crowd crossing, dogs barking, all comes to your mind is the city of dreams, New York City, one of the most populated cities in the world and the busiest city in the world, New York City is the home of busy workers but be introduced to the busiest girl that New York City has to offer ...

"Daina!" an old lady called out from her table.

‎Daina rushed out from the kitchen like a flash. She was a brown-skinned girl with long shiny blonde hair that almost touched her waist. She was small about five feet three but quick like lightning. She ran to the old woman and grabbed the ketchup bottle, squirting it gently onto the woman's spaghetti.

‎"There you go, Mrs Percy. Just the way you like it," Daina said with a kind smile.

‎"Oh thank you, darling," Mrs Percy said. "I can't ever tell ketchup and mustard apart these days."

‎"It's no problem," Daina replied kindly. Mrs Percy handed her a bunch of dollar bills with a big smile.

‎"Keep the change, sweetie," she said.

‎Daina looked at the money and shook her head. "No way, Mrs. Percy. You gave me fifty dollars! That's way too much for spaghetti."

‎"You need it more than I do," Mrs. Percy said softly. "We're all going to miss you, Daina."

‎"What about your grandson, Jeremy?" Daina asked. "He might want new toys!"

‎"Oh, he'll get more than toys when I'm gone," Mrs. Percy joked, pushing the money toward Daina again. "Now don't argue with me."

‎"Fine," Daina said with a smile. "Thank you, Mrs. Percy."

‎"You're such a good girl," Mrs. Percy said as Daina walked back into the kitchen.

‎Back in the kitchen, Daina peeked through the window and saw two boys around her age pushing a smaller boy against the wall. She opened the window fast.

‎"Hey! Trey, Andrew! Didn't you learn your lesson last time?" she shouted.

‎The two teens turned around.

‎"Aw man, I thought you were gone," Trey mumbled.

‎"Bad news. I'm still here," Daina said. "Now get outta here before I really get mad."

‎"Whatever! Go to hell, Daina," Andrew said as he and Trey walked off.

‎"Thanks, Daina," the little boy called out.

‎"Stay out of trouble, little man," she said, closing the window.

‎Just then, Daina's phone buzzed. It was a message from her mom:

‎"Come home. Everyone's waiting for you."

‎She stared at it for a second, sighed, and slipped the phone back into her pocket.

‎"Daina! What the hell are you doing?!" yelled Pedro, her boss, from across the kitchen. He was a strong Mexican man with a loud voice but a soft heart.

‎"Sorry, Mr. Pedro! I was just..."

‎"You came here to get your paycheck, not to work today!"

‎"I know," Daina said quickly. "But Cassidy couldn't keep up with the crowd, so I jumped in to help."

‎Pedro sighed. "Take off the apron, Daina."

‎She took it off slowly.

‎"I knew this day would come," Pedro said, his voice softer now. "But I didn't think it'd be so soon. I'm gonna miss you, kid."

‎"I'll still come by on breaks," Daina said with a warm smile.

‎"Your job's always safe here at Pedro's," he said, handing her an envelope.

‎Daina opened it and started counting. "Wait, this is a thousand dollars? That can't be right."

‎"It's no mistake," Pedro said.

‎"Mr. Pedro... I didn't earn this much."

‎"You earned even more," he said. "Think of it as a gift."

‎Daina's eyes filled with tears. She wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug.

‎"Thanks, Mr. Pedro."

‎Her phone buzzed again. Her mom was still messaging. Daina quickly grabbed her bike and walked outside. As she unlocked it, her eyes landed on a poster stuck to the wall. It showed a picture of a smiling blonde pregnant woman.

‎"Missing Person: Trisha James. $20,000 reward for information."

‎"She used to come to Pedro's," Daina whispered. "Such a sweet woman..."

‎Just then, a group of teenagers passed by, laughing loudly.

‎"Can you believe they're offering 20 grand?" one boy said. "If I were in that family, I'd go missing on purpose!"

‎His friends laughed.

‎"She's probably already dead," another boy said carelessly.

‎"Maybe she's in Vegas, gambling," a girl added.

‎"Duh, she was pregnant!" another girl snapped.

‎Daina's face dropped. Their words made her feel sick. She remembered the last time Trisha came by. She had been glowing with joy, talking to her boyfriend about baby names. They hadn't even done a scan-they wanted the baby's gender to be a surprise.

‎"I hope they find her," Daina said softly.

‎Just then, a car zoomed by and splashed dirty water all over her jeans.

‎"To hell with you!" Daina screamed, her hands balled into fists. It was her favorite jeans, and it's ruined.

‎She looked up. A shiny black Lamborghini was stuck in traffic. For once, she was glad New York traffic was so bad. She stormed over with a brick in her hand, ready to knock on the window.

‎But before she could speak, the back window rolled down.

‎And that's when she saw him.

‎A boy. His face looked like it was carved by angels. He had dark glasses on, but he pulled them down slowly, revealing deep blue eyes that looked like they could steal her soul. Daina stared for a moment, completely frozen.

‎Until...

‎"I don't have all day," the boy said in a bored voice, holding out some dollar bills.

‎Daina snapped back to reality.

‎"What the heck?!" she shouted. "You splashed mud all over me and didn't even stop to say sorry! And now you want to toss money at me like I'm some kind of beggar?"

‎People nearby turned to look.

‎"So what do you want?" the boy asked.

‎"An apology!" Daina yelled.

‎"I think the money will do," the boy said, dropping the money on the floor.

‎Daina's eyes burned with anger. She dropped the brick, bent down slowly... and the boy smirked. He thought he had won.

‎"Stupid traffic," he mumbled.

‎But before he could blink, Daina dumped a whole bucket of dirty water right on him!

‎The boy's face went from smug to soaked and shocked.

‎She tossed the wet money at him. "Keep the change."

‎The people nearby started laughing and cheering.

‎Daina walked away with her head high, her jeans still wet, but her pride untouched.

A corpse is seen lying on a sick bed, wrapped with a piece of cloth, her facial structure was wounded with horrible bruises and her pitch blonde hair looked perfect despite the madness, a figure is seen with her, a short bald man staring at the white wall watching his wristwatch to see if he was expecting somebody.

"Dr. Daryl," A deep voice drags his attention, he turns to see a tall muscular figure with dark shades coming closer to him.

"Johnstone didn't notice when you got in," Dr. Daryl said.

"Who was she?" Johnstone asked, standing beside the bed.

"Trisha James, dead for three weeks, her body found in the woods," Dr. Daryl replied.

"Are you sure it's a werewolf attack?" Johnstone asked and Dr. Daryl exposed the claw mark on Trisha's stomach to clarify his doubts.

"First werewolf attack in 6 years," Dr. Daryl stated.

"False data, they killed our man not less than a year ago," Johnstone corrected.

"That was out of defence, I was talking about unprovoked," Daryl countered and Johnstone laughed.

"Doctor, do you think these monsters need to have a reasonable motive to kill?" Johnstone asked.

"As dangerous as they may be, they don't hurt harmless people, I have studied them, human blood is not their natural taste it's considered a taboo to kill a human without just cause," Daryl explained.

"Let me pretend I believe you then what justification did a werewolf need to kill Trisha for? What did she do to break that scared code?" Johnstone asked.

"I think it's ritual purpose," Daryl said, Johnstone nods his head signaling him to go on "Trisha was pregnant, the baby, or what it is was taken with them," He explained.

"Not a reasonable motif but that will do" Johnstone chuckles.

"Do I dispose of the body in the valley for the cops to find?" Dr. Daryl asked.

"Hell no, what will the people say, our reason for being here is to minimize public turmoils, this will be another case of those missing people that are never found," Johnstone explained.

"Do we contact HQ, we have no evidence except this whisker," Daryl said handing Johnstone a small container with a strand of fur.

"Don't do anything stupid Doc, I know how to fish this animal," Johnstone replied.
