"Mr. Asher, are you bearing fruits like an iron tree?" After Valerie left, Park joked with a laugh behind Asher's back.

Asher didn't even glance at him. "Do you have a lot of free time?"

Park stood next to him at the washstand, looking at Asher's excessively handsome face mirrored, and asked seriously, "Did you agree to marry her because of your grandmother?"

Park believed he had known Asher for over a decade and understood him. He's always been a calm and composed person. This sudden marriage to a girl he had just met for the first time wasn't his style.

Asher replied indifferently, "Since it has already happened, it's pointless to regret. I should just accept it openly."

Thinking about it, he was somewhat puzzled as to why he agreed to marry Valerie. Maybe her eyes were too clear, and he couldn't refuse.

Seeing that he didn't want to talk more, Park wisely didn't ask further but told him roughly the situation he'd grasped at the dining table. "Felix wants to transfer funds by marrying your wife to Leo. Brooks Corporation must be in a terrible state now, so they urgently need Leo's funds."

Asher let out a shallow hum, he already knew this. "You try to delay things for a week, and we will talk when her matters are resolved."

Park, "Okay, I got it."

When Park returned to the private room, Valerie was compelled by Felix to toast to Leo.

"Mr. Leo, regarding yesterday's incident, my daughter realizes her mistake, and I have also reprimanded her. I hope you, as a mature adult, could be understanding. I have specially brought her here today to apologize, please accommodate."

Felix was fawning over Leo. After he finished speaking, he gave Valerie a little push, the threatening look in his eyes evident.

A cup of red wine was filled specifically with white wine, Valerie stared at the wine glass in her hand. If all of this went down, she would be drunk to death!

"Why are you all gentlemen not knowing how to cherish women? After gulping such a large cup, this beautiful lady will get drunk! How will she continue having fun if she is drunk?" Park arrived just in time, speaking casually.

Leo wanted to flatter Park, and of course, he would agree to whatever Park said, "Yes, yes, Mr. Park is right. Let's stop drinking, stop drinking."

Valerie let out a sigh of relief, gratefully turning her gaze towards Park.

Across from her, Park was also looking at her, even batting his eyelashes at her.

Valerie guessed that his support was driven by Asher's relationship. That day in the bar, he was sitting next to Asher, they should know each other.

Thanks to Park's protection, Felix did not make things difficult for her afterward.

The meal finally ended amid a host of flatterers. Before leaving, Park raised his glass to her, saying with a profound, "Miss Brooks, we'll meet again if fate allows."

He drained his cup and took leave.

As the crowd dispersed, only Leo remained in the private room. Felix instantly approached and, with a servile expression, said, "Mr. Leo, our Valerie truly understands her mistake, how about this, I let her accompany you upstairs to apologize properly?"

His words imply that Valerie accompanies Leo.

Valerie's face turned white.

Leo looked at Valerie, he had to admit that she was stunning, much more innocent and clean than the other women.

Yet he noticed the attitude of Park towards her at the table, probably he has taken a liking to her.

Now he needed to appease and please Park to get in with the Lawson family. If Park liked Valerie...

"Alright, I accept your apology, and let's put the past behind us," he said. "Moreover, as you know, I've been busy with business deals in the Lawson's Group recently, let's put off our families' marriage ordeal. We'll talk about it when I've sorted out the issues with the Lawson's Group."

Leo's plan was clear as day, his calculating eyes almost visible on his fat, stern face.

"Good, good, we'll follow Mr. Park's arrangements."

Leo waved his hand, feeling cheerful today, he didn't say much and swayed away grandly.

Watching Leo's departing figure, Felix was also pleased, "You did well today. As long as the Brooks family receives funds, I'll get your grandfather the best ward."

Valerie pressed her lips together without saying a word.

In high spirits, Felix didn't care about what Valerie was like, and kindly took her back to the Brooks family home.

However, as soon as they entered the door, Helena happily ran over and clung to Felix's arm. "Dad, you're finally back. Alex is here, he wants to discuss our wedding details with you."

After speaking, she provocatively glanced at Valerie.

But Valerie's heart was like stagnant water at the moment, without any ripples.

Occasionally, laughter rang out from the room. Eleanor and Alex seemed to be having a great conversation.

"Alex, we've discussed your wedding with your parents before, and we've had no issues," Felix went over and sat down on the couch.

The Foster family was one of the top three families in Chelsea City, but the Foster family's industry was now under the control of Foster's eldest son. As for Alex, he was just holding a nominal position in the company, with no real power.

Looking at their harmonious family, Valerie felt like an outsider who didn't fit in.

She had no interest in their pretentious display and was ready to head upstairs, when Helena came over, her arm affectionately around hers. "Sis, Alex and I are getting married next week. You must come, okay?"

Anyone who didn't know better would think they were close sisters.

Valerie looked at Helena's arm looped through hers and lifted her gaze to meet Alex's cold stare.

At the same time, Alex was looking at her too.

Then again, she was the one who broke off the engagement first. Alex probably felt some guilt towards her. He murmured, "Valerie, I know we had some obnoxious moments in the past, but as you can see, Helena and I are truly in love. I hope that you can bless our union."

Seeing his polished and courteous exterior now, Valerie felt like vomiting.

How could she have once regarded a man like this as dependable, worth a lifetime of commitment? She must have been completely blind!

"Oh yes, sis, make sure to bring your husband too. I heard he's a male model, and a lot of my girlfriends want to see him. Maybe they could even offer him some business opportunities," Helena said, feigning innocence.
