Leo did not expect Park to suddenly invite him, thinking he had taken a liking to Valerie. After all, men are visual animals, and Valerie was too dazzling.

"Alright, I'll take your advice." Leo wanted to curry favor with Park and naturally agreed.

Upon hearing this, Felix couldn't help but flash a radiant smile.

Looking at Leo's attitude towards Park, it was clear the man held a high status. If he took an interest in Valerie... Brooks family's economic crisis would be easily solved.

Meanwhile, when Park saw Valerie, he finally understood why Asher had spontaneously asked him to find Leo the night before.

However, his curiosity piqued. In the city, many women were eager to get closer to Asher. Yet, he never expressed interest in anyone. And now, he was here, doing a favor for Valerie.

Quite interesting.

As the group settled into the room, Leo respectfully asked Park at the dining table, "Mr. Park, do you know when the Lawson Corporation will hold its banquet? May we join?"

Park had indeed come on behalf of the Lawson Corporation which was planning a new project in Chelsea and looking for reliable partners. He lazily lifted his lids to respond, "If there are no unexpected circumstances, it should be in about two weeks. The official announcement will be made in a few days. As a leading business figure in Chelsea, Mr. Leo, you will certainly be invited."

Getting his answer, Leo's already small eyes narrowed further into slits as he laughed, "It would be an honor to collaborate with Lawson Corporation. I will depend on your guidance at that time.

"If Mr. Park needs anything, don't hesitate to ask."

Leo was overjoyed inwardly. That was the Lawson Corporation! The top-notch tycoon corporation in the city! As long as he could establish a connection with the Lawson, his rise to success was certain!

All the while, Park observed those present. Their intentions were as clear to him as daylight.

The news that the Lawson Corporation was sending a representative to Chelsea was released early on. Yet the one in charge had remained incognito till now. It was not surprising that everyone was itching to meet him once he stepped forward.

"In fact, not only did I come to Chelsea this time, but the actual controller of the Lawson Corporation is also here. Hence, there are many decisions that I cannot make," Park's statements were standard yet his gaze at Valerie was laden with deeper meaning.

"However, Mr. Lawson has recently got married and he is incredibly fond of his new wife. You could consider this angle."

Got married?

Leo furrowed his brows. The marriage of the power holder of Lawson Corporation is a big event, why wasn't there any news about it outside?

"Mr. Lawson got married? When did this happen?"

"Not long ago," Park said cunningly, "as you all know, Mr. Lawson has been without a woman for many years. This marriage was rather sudden, which clearly shows his attention towards her. If you make the move from her side, you might get unexpected results."

"So, Mr. Park, can you tell us who the lady is?" Leo immediately counter-questioned.

Park, still smiling, held back his answer, "That depends on your ability to find out. Well, let's eat first. The cuisine at this restaurant is supposedly excellent."

Since Park was not forthcoming, no one else, being shrewd, pursued further.

Valerie was seated in the farthest corner, trying her best to minimize her presence.

Felix, however, kept pestering her by her ear, "Hurry up and toast Mr. Leo."

Valerie remained motionless.

"Valerie, think about your grandfather!" Felix threatened.

Valerie suddenly stood up; everyone's eyes focused on her. She turned beet red, completely embarrassed. "I. I need to use the restroom."

She quickly left the private room after speaking.

Felix was infuriated by her behavior, yet he couldn't express his anger because everyone present was either wealthy or influential. He had no choice but to maintain a smile.

Valerie only felt a sense of relief after leaving the private room.

In there, she felt like an object to trade at a man's dinner table, waiting to be chosen at any time. This atmosphere suffocated her.

In the restroom, she splashed water on her face and stared at her reflection in the mirror - a pale face with sad eyes.

She told herself, just hang on for another week.

Stay quietly at the Brooks's residence, pacify Felix.

Now, she had already arranged for someone. As long as she can settle down with her grandfather, there would be nothing threatening her anymore!

"Why do you look so terrible?" a familiar voice suddenly echoed from behind.

Valerie turned her head and was slightly taken aback when she saw Asher.

When did he show up? She had no idea.

"Why are you here?" Valerie regained her senses and asked, confused.

He was a male model, and the Purple Crystal Hotel was a VIP-only venue.

Asher looked at her, deliberately counter-asking, "Why do you think I'm here?"

Valerie looked him up and down, today he was dressed more casually. Despite the simplicity, it could not hide his nobility.

Valerie contemplated for a moment, testing the waters, "Did you come... in accompanied by a wealthy older woman- a client?"

Asher looked at her fretful face and the corners of his mouth curled into a smile, "Yes."

With a soft sigh, Valerie lamented, "Your line of work is quite taxing, having to entertain clients."

Asher's mood inexplicably lifted, even wanting to tease her a bit, "Indeed, and this time the one to accommodate is a woman of over two hundred pounds."

Valerie's pupils dilated with surprise, over two hundred pounds?

Would he be crushed to death by her?

Opening and closing her mouth, she finally stuttered out, "Making money, hmm, is also quite tough for you guys."

Seeing her stunned appearance, Asher almost burst into laughter, expressing, "Definitely, especially since I now have a family to support, I need to work harder to earn money."

Feeling awkward, Valerie touched her nose and cleared her throat, "I am... not very familiar with your profession, but you should still pay attention to your health."

"No need to worry about me, I'm already in touch with other hospitals. It's just going to take some time, I can handle it all myself."

Just as her words hung in the air, Valerie suddenly found her view blacked by Asher's handsome face up close, "Are you worried about me?"

His damn seductive, deep voice!

Like a startled rabbit, Valerie retreated a few steps, lowering her gaze to avoid looking at him, "After all, you are my husband. I would rather not encounter any accidents."

Asher didn't continue to tease her, his posture straightened, "The day after tomorrow my grandmother will arrive in the city, she would like to meet you, is that alright?"

Valerie calmed his momentarily unsteady heartbeat, "When do you suppose?"

Since they were already married, it was only right to help each other.

Asher said, "The day after tomorrow evening, do you have the time to have dinner together at my place?"

Valerie nodded and agreed, "Okay!"

"Just come, I will prepare the gift."

"Okay." After Valerie replied, he ran off without looking back......
