Once these words were spoken, they stirred up quite a few waves.

Felix stared at her incredulously, "Valerie, there's a limit to the nonsense you can spew! Don't think you can get away with this kind of excuse! I'm telling you, you have no say in this matter!"

Valerie looked at the angrily blush Felix and suddenly laughed.

Yes, just yesterday her engagement was called off, and today she announced that she was married. She didn't blame anyone for not believing her.

Whose face was normally adorned with pleasant laughter - Leo's – at this moment contorted with indignant frustration, "Are you playing a game with me, you father and daughter duo?"

Against his will, Felix placated the infuriated man, "Mr. Leo, don't worry, she's just talking nonsense. Tomorrow, I will ensure that she accompanies you to receive the marriage certificate."

"Who are you coercing her to get the marriage certificate with?"

Just as Felix's words fell, a deep voice came from the doorway.

Following the origin of the voice, they saw Asher Lawson, dressed in a black suit, looking dashing and poised as he walked in from outside.

Surprised, Valerie immediately stood up and trotted over to him, looking up and whispering, "How did you get here?"

Asher looked down at her, a small smile playing on his lips. He put his arm around her waist in a protective gesture.

His gaze swept over everyone in the room, "We just got married, so it's only right that I accompany you when you come home. I apologize for my oversight."

At his words, Valerie's face turned bright red and she dodged his gaze a little unconsciously.

She tugged at him, "You go back first, the situation at my home is a bit complicated. I'll explain it to you later on." Valerie whispered into his ear.

She didn't want to drag him into their family's messy affairs.

Asher felt her warm breath, gently tickling him, causing the roots of his ears to unexpectedly turn a bit red. The hand that was wrapped around her waist tightened unconsciously, "Now you are my wife, your affairs are my affairs."

The intimate scene between the two in the eyes of onlookers was like acting in a cuddly behavior, especially when Asher's words came out, it completely infuriated Leo, who stood up abruptly in anger.

"Felix, do you think I am easy to deceive?!"

He was initially extremely satisfied with Valerie, but now, the sudden appearance of a dark horse made him upset!

Felix also felt that he could not maintain his dignity and quickly stepped forward to pacify the situation, "Mr. Leo, don't be angry. The situation is not what you think, this is some random pretty boy she found, and she probably thinks to avoid this situation. Rest assured, she can't marry anyone else!"

Leo, seeing Felix so confident, glared fiercely at Valerie, finally decreasing his hateful gaze on Asher.

But in this city, there was no one of reputation that he, Leo, did not know!

Reconfirming thrice that he indeed did not know him, Leo grew even more arrogantly, "Felix, if I, Leo wanted to find a woman, I can catch a handful easily. There's no need for me to be put off and embarrassed here. If she doesn't want to get married, there's also no need to randomly find a man to insult me."

Felix felt embarrassed and shot a glare at Valerie. Then he went to confront Asher, but since he was shorter by a head, he naturally couldn't keep up his momentum, "Who are you, and what are you doing in our house?"

"I'm accompanying my wife for a visit." Asher answered composedly, pulling Valerie closer to him.

Felix's anger skyrocketed even more, and he seemed to shoot fire from his eyes, "Where the hell did you come from? Spouting such nonsense? How did I not know about my daughter's marriage? And you even dare to tarnish her purity! Get out of here now!"

If Valerie didn't know Felix's nature, she would almost believe that he was truly concerned for her innocence.

Asher ignored Felix, but instead looked down at her, his tone neutral, "They want you to marry him? Looking at his age, he could pass as your dad, right? So is he a greedy old man wanting to taste young grass, or does he see himself as an ugly frog desiring to eat swan meat?"

He spoke with such nonchalance as if he were discussing the pleasant weather of the day.

Valerie nearly couldn't hold it in, silently giving him a thumbs up in her heart!

What a sharp mouth!

Leo was so angry that his face turned red and his neck thickened. He wanted to retort but found himself speechless. Eventually, he gritted his teeth and spat at Felix, "Felix! Don't expect me to help you with your family affair anymore!"

After saying this, he stormed off with his hefty body, not looking back at all.

Felix tried to appease him from behind, but Leo ignored him.

The original nailed deal was messed up by this unexpected man, which made him so furious that he almost fainted from the great anger.

He pointed vehemently at Asher, "You, you..."

After quite some hesitation, he wasn't able to say a full sentence.

Eleanor came over and patted Felix on the back to comfort him. "Valerie, I must say, even if you didn't want to, you should have spoken up. How could you think of such a plan? You've made your father so angry!"

"Have you not thought about this? If your father falls, who will pay for your grandfather's medical treatment?"

Felix also eased a bit, looking at her. "You will accompany me tomorrow to apologize to CEO Leo. He likes you a lot and will forgive you."

Eleanor also echoed, "Yes, Valerie. I saw that CEO Leo is quite satisfied with you. Now that the Brooks family is in such a crisis, you have grown up and should also think about your father and grandfather. Deliberately messing things up with a random man is disrespectful towards your father, isn't it?"

Valerie watched them back and forth, constantly threatening her with her grandfather. She was so angry that she trembled all over!

Asher sensed her rage. He tightened his hold on her hand, lowering his eyes to look at her. "I'm sorry, Valerie is my wife now."

"You are still playing pretend?" Felix squints his eyes, clearly not believing him.

"This is our marriage certificate."

Asher takes out their marriage certificate and opens it, "If you don't believe me, you can go check."
