Selene's POV
It's been three days since I set my eyes on Damian. I heard he had been busy with pack duties but I didn't care and just focused on being myself. A lot of the pack members who visited the palace were starting to notice me and were already looking up to me as their Luna even without me saying a word.
I sat in my room that evening, staring at the sky through the room window when I heard the door open. I blinked without moving when suddenly, I caught a scent that didn't belong to Elaine.
Stunned, I looked back only to find Alpha Damian staring at me; this time, there was no anger or threats in his eyes. All I could see was affection, and it didn't just get me surprised; it got me worried. "Did you really never miss me?" He questioned, his voice surprisingly so soft. I sat up and then got closer to him.
"Do you realize you are on my bed?" I asked him and he laughed.
"If you are going to be my Luna then I shouldn't be worried about a simple bed. You also shouldn't be worried about being on my bed." He muttered, and that got me a bit uncomfortable.
"Coming from someone who wants to send me to the Lion's den without protection," I whispered and he laughed.
I stared at him in his laughing mode; his lashes moved with so much certainty, and I couldn't help but smile at that. How did he get such long lashes? I never noticed them before this moment. "I won't send you into the lion's den," I heard him say while I watched his lips move.
I nodded my head, trying to stay sane and not lose my sanity. "I believe you then! Just let me be your Luna without so much noise." I told him and he brought me closer to him and kissed my forehead.
My heart started beating fast.
No man has ever kissed my forehead. Butterflies grew in my belly as I then watched him walk out of my room.
I was trying to stay stable in bed when Elaine walked in, being so worried for me. "I just saw the alpha leaving this room. Are you fine?" She said tapping me and bringing me back to my senses.
I blinked repeatedly and realized how dumb I was minutes ago. "Fuck it! Elaine, I think I am still so weak and moved by a man's soft tone." I muttered and she rolled her eyes.
"Selene you are not weak. You are feminine and only need the right people around you... Don't tell me it's what I'm thinking." She said staring at me deeply.
"You ain't thinking nothing girl!" I muttered and walked into my room balcony.

I went to bed when I felt like it and when I opened my eyes the next morning, I was greeted with a bouquet of roses. Smiling, I got up and spotted the hands holding them.
"You again! What do you want from me?" I asked Damian.
"Good morning to you too. I learned you love roses, so I plucked these out of the best and also want you to know I have a garden of roses that now belongs to you." He said to me and my smile deepened.
"This is beautiful. Thank you! I can't lie about my feelings. I feel really pure this morning and it's all because of you." I said and was going to hug him but pulled back because I was worried about pissing him off.
He caught the withdrawal and grabbed my slender body into his, hugging me tight. I felt his warmth for the first time and felt blown away. "Why are you treating me so well?" I asked him and he held my face.
"It took me a lot to realize that everything I had wished for in a Luna was right in front of me. Yes, I wanted you to fight for us, but if you aren't comfortable with it, I shouldn't push it further, so I have decided to only let you do what you want and are comfortable with. Since we are together, I think we should be thinking about doing the needful. What do you think about a mating ceremony?" He asked.
I froze.
Am I getting mated sooner?
I shrieked in excitement. "I will have to talk to my father about it, but umm, I have no phone right now. I think I will get Elaine to get me one." I muttered and he turned and took out a box he had placed on the side table.
"Here! I got you this phone." He said handing me a brand new packaged phone.
I gasped in shock. It looked super classy. It must have cost a fortune. "Thank you! I have my father's digits in my head. I will reach out to him and leave the rest to the both of you. Thank you so much!" I expressed my gratitude and when he finally left, I was filled with unexplainable joy.

"You won't believe when I say all my dreams are coming through because trust me, even to this point, I still can't believe I'm finally going to be mated to someone, a better man than Asher." I danced and Elaine kept hugging me.
"We need to tell your father. Trust me, he will be the happiest and this will be a major slap to Asher's face." She told me and I couldn't help but laugh.
"He will never recover from this," I muttered and went through the phone system. I was very familiar with technology so it wasn't hard for me to figure out how the phone worked.
Two days passed since I had the phone, and though my relationship with Damian kept blooming, I found it hard to reach out to my father. His digits just wouldn't go through and all Elaine could do was to assure me with various valid reasons why he was unreachable.
My phone later beeped that afternoon, and without hesitation, I rushed to grab it with my father in mind. The moment I opened the phone, I realized I had just received a message. I smiled harder but the moment I saw the sender's name, my beautiful smile vanished into thin air.
I stared at the screen in shock.
Asher?
