Asher's POV
Five years later. 11 pm.
As they rightly say, a man under the influence of a nasty woman is prone to make nasty decisions. I'd liken that man to myself and my nasty woman? Well, I seriously used to think that I was madly in love with her.
"Come on, Asher, how possible is it that you finally have what you've always wanted, and now you'd allow it to rot as if you never desired it?" her very seductive voice filled the room, leaving me on the verge of proving my manhood to her or becoming her nightmare.
"Get out, Gia," I hissed, but she seemed to have gotten so used to me that she only smirked, keeping the same eye level as me before she let her robe drop to the floor, revealing the sweet temptation I had fallen for when I rejected the only one who stood a chance.
"This right here is what you've always wanted. You've loved me so dearly and the fact that only I can get you to places your limbs wouldn't take you on your own-"
"Shut the hell up!"
"This is what made you so impatient, my love," she persisted climbing the bed as she spoke. "You never got a taste of that ridiculous bitch because you and I know how much only I can serve you, Asher, so don't ask me to leave," she lowered her voice.
"You've grown really impressive wings, Gia, and I apologize for crushing your dreams; I was younger then and foolish," I sneered, "Now get the sour blood bag of your body off my bed!" I snapped, watching tears fall from her eyes.
"You better be foolish to say the same thing to the council," she whispered, kissing my cheeks. "You're drunk, and my only mistake was coming to see you when you're drunk," she sniffed in her tears while picking up her satin robe. "Perhaps you'd be sober by tomorrow morning, and I'll have you making love to me and confessing me to be your one true Luna."
She shut the door even before I could crush her awful imagination once more. Of course, it was awful because I had driven Selene out, and for five years, she had kept to her words to never return. For five years, my infatuation over Gia, the fierce wolf, had washed away leaving me at my knees, begging and yearning for traces of Selene. You heard right. I want her back.
The day broke so early and I had a meeting with the members of the council in less than three hours. I quickly got up, cleaned up, and had my breakfast before meeting with the very wise and aged lycans of the Ravens pack.
"Good morning, Alpha Asher," the eldest greeted the instant he sighted me while the rest stood and bowed their heads in respect.
"Good morning to you all. You may have your seats."
I watched them carefully as they did only to observe that a very important member of the council was absent.
"Where is-"
"Right here, Alpha," Theodore Nightfall echoed from the entrance. "I apologize for the lateness," he bowed slightly.
After everyone had taken their seats, I cleared my throat.
"You did say that the meeting is going to be the one that used to be a part of us am I right, Alpha Asher?"
"You are right. I've called you all here today because I want all hands to be on deck while I try to find my Luna," I went straight to the point only to have all eyes glancing at each other in confusion.
"Which Luna do you speak of, Alpha Asher? The whole pack was a witness to you driving the only noble maiden fit for the position away and ever since then, you have not held another mating ceremony to have a Luna," the eldest spoke.
"Well, from what you've just said, it is a fact that I have just one Luna-"
"You would have had a Luna," Theodore quickly corrected, almost slamming his hand to his armrest.
Everywhere fell silent as tension rose again. I had sent out my best men to search the woods, neighboring packs, and every possible hideout for Selene, but all efforts had turned guilty, which was why I decided to come face to face with the hard truth. I wanted her and I wanted her badly enough to beg at her father's feet for him to give up her location.
"I would kneel before you if need be, Theodore Nightfall. I agree that my actions the last five years were very unspeakable especially when you have done nothing but serve in all honesty and might-"
"That is my point, Alpha Asher and I'm sorry if I'm rude, but you did what you did. Rejecting Selene Nightfall, the choice of the people in the most shameful way, driving her away from her pack and only family just to settle with Gia, and after five years, I assume you now find her unworthy and ridiculous to be your Luna!" he snapped.
"I understand I wronged you deeply, but I am still your alpha, and I request that you give up her current location as you are the only one she could trust with that kind of information."
"After such disgrace, it took you five good years to apologize and look for her. I must call this ridiculous as well and I'd rather be banished from the pack than have you near my precious jewel ever again!"
"What is it that you want? Wealth? A higher position in the pack? A new mansion? Slaves? Just say the word and they'll be yours."
"I will not have you near my daughter again," he nearly growled on the same eye level with me.
"Alright then," I sighed, seeing that he still needed more time to be cracked. "The agenda for the meeting still remains the same. Bring words to me about Selene's whereabouts and you might as well secure a very good reward from your Alpha. Have a good day, council."
With that, I left them to their thoughts and imaginations, entering the room to see furious Gia pacing back and forth in my room. Strange. Why would she be here this morning if she hadn't known about the meeting with the council?
"Selene might have quietly swallowed your insult to her publicly, but don't you dare think that I would do the same!" she threatened, pointing her index finger at me.
"You dare to speak to your Alpha in such a tone, Gia. You really have guts," I replied coldly, walking past her to pour myself some wine.
"Well, that Alpha had always been my lover since I knew my right from wrong. I love you, Asher, and I know you do. In fact, you are obsessed with me, and if you think you can keep up with your demands for long, be my guest," her change in tone was quite interesting and a fun sight to me. She had no power over this, and the moon goddess bore me witness; I'd feed her flesh to the beast.
"Selene would be coming home soon, and for the sake of those years I was blinded by your facades, I'd like to keep your honor intact. Leave now it feels less embarrassing to do so, Gia."
"Leave? I will bring Selene to you, except that she won't be without her body, and afterward, you'd agree to how filthy she is."
"Hurt a hair on her head, Gia and the entire pack would learn a new side to their Alpha," I hissed, putting down my glass.
