Chapter 4 The Cat and mouse Game

Seeing George standing like someone who had been hypnotized worried the old man, so he placed his hands on George's shoulder and whispered.

*George, let me tell you life is so unpredictable, so I know how you feel. I've been there. I, too, came from humble beginnings, and it's part of what shaped me to who I am now. I'll help you achieve your dreams. Come with me, there's something I want to show you."

George gently followed the old man into his car. "Lock up the shop before sundown!" he instructed Kevin.

"OK boss!" Kevin yelled.

As the old man drove away from George's mechanic's shop. George began to feel different because he spent most of his time in his shop. This was the first time he had been outside in a long time.

The little time he had, he used it to buy materials for producing cars.

George couldn't stop admiring the Canadian skyscrapers, beautiful streetlights, the supermarkets and houses.

"Beautiful, isn't it? There's more to see and don't get too intoxicated by the attraction of the city, my son!" the old man warned him.

He drove for hours, until they arrived at a very big skyscraper. George gently got down from the car. He immediately fixed his eyes on the magnificent skyscraper, and he saw a well-designed inscription, Gary Motors Company.

"Wow! Is this your company? It's very big and beautiful?" George yelled excitedly.

"Yes it is! Welcome to my empire, come with me!" Mr. Garry yelled.

Then they got out of the car. He followed the old man as they walked into the company. As they arrived, a man in a suit named James, a security officer, gently opened the door for them.

"Hey James, how's everything at the company? I hope all is fine?" Mr Garry asked him curiously.

James's facial expression was very disturbing. This meant only one thing.

"What happened, James? Talk to me?" The old man asked him curiously.

"All is not fine, boss! You're welcome back Boss. I hope the wedding was pleasant? We've been expecting you since the boss. Out of fifty-one cars, fifty have been sold and accounted for except one.we don't know where it is. I personally think it has been stolen." the man in the suit whispered.

"What do you mean by that? The wedding was wonderful! Thanks for asking! So you mean to tell me that out of fifty-one cars, fifty cars have been sold, but one hasn't been accounted for? You all think it was stolen! You must be joking! I made it clear to you all last week that you should keep a close eye on everything going on here. That's your job! Thank goodness a camera was implanted everywhere so we don't have to worry about anything." Mr Garry assured them.

"I think we have a car thief among us in the company." the man in the suit suggested.

"Wait here James! Come with me George! Mr Garry yelled as He gently walked into his office. George followed him. He turned on all the camera monitors and all the activities that occurred began to be displayed on them, but he couldn't find a scenario of someone stealing a car. He kept trying, but all to no avail.

Mr. Garry became extremely worried. As George saw the old man's face, he became worried likewise.

"I think I can help you find the criminal! All I need to do is set a trap for the person." George suggested.

"Really, that would be amazing!

"But how exactly do you intend on doing that?" Mr. Garry asked him curiously.

"Let me explain, in most cases, car thieves can be people working for a company who know how to retrace their steps and cover their tracks. Not only that, they must be very smart and careful." George suggested.

"Wow, nice work George! You're good at this! This means that the thief works at my company. There's only one way to fish him or her out." Mr Garry said.

"Leave that to me, there are a lot of ways to catch criminals, especially ones that work at your company, though I don't have a company. I have solved similar cases at my mechanic's shop on several occasions. All I have to do is set a trap for the thief which he or she must fall for!" George yelled.

"Wow! That's smart! You amaze me every day. Is there anything you're not good at? So, how do you intend to set this trap?" Mr Garry asked curiously.

"Like I said before, there are many ways to catch a thief, but the easiest way is to make the thief feel like he or she is invincible. We will have to risk a car, so the thief can steal it, but this time we have the upper hand. We are aware of the crime so then we can easily catch the criminal." George suggested.

"Wow, this is incredible! You completely understand human psychology! You are endowed with a lot of potential. That's exactly what we'll do, but you'll do it yourself. I don't trust James!" Mr Garry yelled suspiciously.

"Sir, it's a pleasure! This is huge! But I'm just a guest in your company! Are you sure you can entrust such a case into my hands?

"Isn't it too early?" George asked curiously.

"Let me explain something to you, son, you fail to understand something. After your customers recommended you to me, I had high hopes that I had found someone worthy of my trust. Not only that ever since my own sons betrayed me. I found it difficult to trust anyone but when your former boss spoke highly of you I thought about it for days.

Then I Finally decided I would come see for myself, so I came to your workshop on foot. I knew I was taking risks being aware of my social status, but it was worth it. I decided to test you by telling you that my car wasn't good. I wanted to see what your next move was going to be. As I guessed, you showed me rare kindness, you've earned my trust.

I have big plans for you. Don't worry, for now this is your first task!" "If you succeed you'll be rewarded!" Mr Garry assured him.

"Thanks a lot sir! I'm so glad I have earned your trust and I promise to help you find this incompetent criminal," George whispered.

"You're welcome! Now to go do what is necessary, Blackwood! Before you go take this, this is the key to one of my garages. A lot of cars are there. Pick one and use it as bait! Go!" Mr. Garry yelled.

"OK sir!" George yelled and took the key from him and left. On his way to the garage, he observed very well to see if anyone was watching him.

But He didn't see anyone, so he continued waking after some minutes. He saw someone standing not far away from him, but he couldn't see the person's face clearly, but he noticed that the person was putting on a suit.

He became very worried, so he started soliloquizing. "Who could this person be? As he moved a little, the person moved too. He's following me too. Who could this be? and why is he following me? "What does he want from me? I know what to do!" George whispered.

He gently ran into a dark room, opened it and entered. The figure followed him.

He waited there for minutes till he noticed that the figure had lost track of him and went in another direction. He smiled and whispered.

"Yes, I think James is the one following me. I suspect that he will be behind this theft? He's following me to cover his tracks!" He yelled.

He waited there for minutes, then he pushed the door of the dark room open and continued running. Suddenly, Something dragged him down, and he fell down and hit his head on the floor.

It affected his eyes so He couldn't see clearly anymore, and he became unconscious, but he could see someone standing close to him. Who could this be? This left puzzles in his head.
