Chapter 4 The Cat and mouse Game

George Blackwood couldn't find words then the elderly man, Mr. Garry Davidson, placed his hand on his shoulder.

"My son, life can be really uncertain, and I understand your feelings because I've experienced it too. I started from a simple background, and that helped shape who I am today. I want to help you reach your dreams. Come with me; I have something to share with you." Mr. Garry spoke softly.

George carefully accompanied the old man to his car. "Make sure to lock up the shop before sunset!" he told Kevin ok sir!. Kevin replied.

As the elderly man drove away from George's mechanic shop, George felt a sense of change. He usually spent most of his time working in his shop, and the little free time he had, he used to purchase parts for his cars not now he was outside which made him feel so different.

George kept gazing at the stunning Canadian skyscrapers, lovely streetlights, and the supermarkets and beautiful houses.

"Isn't it lovely? There's so much more to explore, but don't get too caught up in the city's charm,"the old man advised him.

He drove for several hours until they reached a huge skyscraper. George carefully stepped out of the car. He quickly focused on the impressive building and noticed a beautifully designed sign. "Gary Motors."

"Wow! It's huge and stunning!" George shouted with excitement.

"Welcome to my company! Follow me!" Mr. Garry shouted.

George walked behind the old man as they entered the company. When they arrived, a man in a suit named James kindly opened the door for them

"Hey James, how are things going at the company? I hope everything is okay?" Mr. Garry asked him with interest.

"Everything isn't okay, boss! Welcome back! I hope the wedding went well. We've been waiting for you. out of Seventy cars, sixty nine cars have been sold and recorded, but one is still unaccounted for. We're not sure if it's missing or has been stolen," the man in the suit whispered.

What do you mean when you say everything isn't okay? The wedding was amazing! Thank you! Are you telling me that out of Seventy cars sixty nine have been sold, but one is missing? You all think it got stolen? You must be kidding! I told everyone last week to pay close attention to what's happening here. Luckily, i installed cameras everywhere, so we don't have to stress about anything.

"I believe there is a car thief here," James quietly said.

"Wait here, James. George you come with me." He walked calmly into an office with George right behind him. He switched on all the monitors, and soon, everything that happened began to show on the screens. However, he couldn't find any footage of someone stealing a car. He kept searching, but it was no use.

"I believe I can assist you in locating the criminal!" George Blackwood proposed.

"That would be awesome! But how do you intend on doing that?" Mr. Garry asked him with curiosity.

Let me clarify that in many situations, car thieves can be employees of the company. They know how to cover their tracks and retrace their steps. Also, they tend to be quite clever, as George pointed out.

"Great job! This means the thief is an employee at my company, and there's only one way to catch him or her."

"Let me handle that. There are many ways to catch criminals, especially those who work at your company. Even though I don't run a company, I have solved similar cases at my mechanic shop many times. All I need to do is set a trap for the thief, and they will end up falling for it." George explained.

"Wow! That's really clever! You impress me every day. Is there anything you're not good at? How do you plan for us to set this trap?" Garry asked with curiosity.

There are several methods to catch a thief, but the simplest way is to make them think they can't be caught. To do this, we need to let the thief take one of our cars. However, this time we are prepared and know what's happening, which will help us catch the criminal easily George suggested.

"Wow, this is amazing! You really get how people think! You have a lot of talent. That's exactly what we'll do, but you'll handle it by yourself because I don't trust James!" Mr. Garry shouted with suspicion.

"Sir, I'm so grateful but I just got to your company today. Are you really sure you can trust me with such an important case? It feels too soon," George whispered.

"You don't understand something, George! After your customer recommended you to me, I really hoped I had found someone I could trust. My own son has let me down, and since then, I've had a hard time trusting anyone. But when your former boss praised you, I decided to check you out myself. I walked to your workshop, knowing it was a risk because of my social status, but I thought it would be worth it. I wanted to test you, so I told you my car wasn't working well. I wanted to see how you would respond. Just as I suspected, you treated me with kindness. Son, you've earned my trust, and I have big plans for you. Don't worry; for now, this is your first task!" Mr. Garry shouted.

"Thank you so much, sir! I'm happy that I've gained your trust, and I promise to help you catch this useless criminal, George whispered."

"You're welcome! Now, go take care of what you need to do, Blackwood! But before you leave, take this-it's the key to one of my garages. There are lots of cars inside, so pick one and use it as bait! Go!" Mr. Garry shouted.

"Okay, sir!" George shouted as he grabbed the key from the old man and walked away. While walking, he carefully looked around to check if anyone was watching him.

As he kept walking after a few minutes, he noticed someone standing in the distance. He couldn't see the person's face, but the person was wearing a suit.

"Who might this person be? As he shifted slightly, the person did the same. Who could it possibly be?" "Why is he following me?" George whispered. "I know how to handle this."

He quietly rushed into a dark room, opened the door, and stepped inside. The figure trailed behind him. George realized that the figure had lost sight of him and turned to go a different way. He smiled and whispered, "Yes, I think James is the one following me I always knew there was something suspicious about him. I have a feeling he will be involved in this theft."

He opened the door to the dark room and kept running. Suddenly, something pulled him down, causing him to fall and hit his head on the floor. His vision blurred, and he lost consciousness, but he noticed someone standing nearby. "Who might this be? This left him wondering."
