George Blackwood stood there, speechless and confused, as he fixed his eyes on the card.
"The world is really small, and life can be so unexpected!" he shouted.
"That's not all, sir! That face seemed really familiar. I've seen him on a Canadian billboard before. He's the current senator of Canada and a very rich businessman, but he stays out of the spotlight!" Kevin, one of George's workers, shouted.
"Wow! Are you saying that I just assisted a politician, a businessman, and a multimillionaire? I really admire his humility. Being humble doesn't cost anything because, no matter what we have, it can't compare to the wealth and wisdom of Solomon from the Bible, yet he still stayed humble. I'm so excited!" George shouted.
"Sir, you should feel really happy because the senator doesn't just come by like this, putting himself at risk because of his position. He must have heard something interesting from one of your customers that brought him here! I'm proud to work for you; you're one of the most humble people I know. Your hard work is clear in how you build cars from the ground up!" Kevin complimented his boss.
"Wow, all these nice things people are saying about me! But I haven't done anything special; I'm just trying my hardest!" George shouted.
"You are really humble! Unlike others who boast about their accomplishments, you stay so down-to-earth. That's one of the reasons why the senator decided to visit our mechanic shop-he noticed special qualities in you that not many people have! You truly are the best boss!" Kevin complimented him again.
"Stop calling me boss, Kevin! I'm not that much older than you, so just call me George, please," he urged Kevin.
Alright George, just a reminder that we're close to finishing the old man's car. I'll gather everything up, and we still have over thirty scrap car parts we need to put together!
"Oh yes, gather everything because he'll return in two days. Then, go and get one of those car parts so I can start my work." Kevin and ten other workers hurried to collect the car parts. George carefully assembled everything, starting with the windows, tires, and engine. He completed the first car in just a week and did the same for the others. Once he finished, he had built up to a hundred cars on his own. He decided to engrave his name, George BlackWood Motors, on them. For now, he didn't want to sell any of the cars; instead, he planned to lend them to people who needed them.
After a span of two days, early one morning, three vehicles arrived at George's mechanic shop. Due to financial constraints, George was residing in his shop temporarily, having already paid half of the rent for an apartment situated not far from his mechanic shop. He had allocated all his available funds to his business operations. On that morning, he remained in a deep slumber, despite the arrival of the cars.
The noise from the cars was so loud that it woke him up. He carefully got out of bed, and as he left his room, he found it hard to see the cars because he was still sleepy. Someone waved at him from one of the car windows, but he could hardly make out who it was.
He carefully picked up a plate of water and washed his face. He could barely see the person, and it was the old man.
"Welcome back, sir! I hope my car worked well for you. How was the wedding? I hope everything went smoothly," George asked him with interest.
"My son, your car is amazing! The engine is truly outstanding. I know a thing or two about cars, and I can see that you put a lot of time into fixing this one. I really love it. Did you make it all by yourself?" the old man asked with interest.
"Yes, I did! At first, it was a car that nobody wanted. I purchased it and completely rebuilt it, changing everything from the engine to the tires. I even got new windows, and now it looks brand new!" shouted George Blackwood.
"Wow, that's incredible! You have a lot of talent! I want to give you some advice. It's really important to protect your hard work. He looked at the other cars and noticed something. Oh, I see you've created your own identity by putting your name on it. That's called branding, and it's the first step. As an entrepreneur, there are more steps you need to take. When you lent me your car, you didn't realize that you were putting your business at risk. You haven't registered your company name and logo as a trademark, which means you're not protecting your identity." The car you gave me didn't have a name, which was quite risky. So, I registered it under my company to keep your company safe. I see your potential, and I want to help you reach your goals. You have shown me that you have qualities of a great businessman. I noticed some flaws, but that's normal because everyone makes mistakes. Congratulations, Son!
When George heard this, he stood there without saying a word, and tears ran down his cheeks. His workers all exclaimed, "Awwww!" They cheered and said, "Congratulations, Boss! You deserve it!"
"I don't get it, sir! What are you saying? I'm just a mechanic! George shouted.
When I heard about you from a costumer he praised you a lot. Your previous boss also suggested you to me, saying great things about you. He mentioned your humility and how you treat others, which really drew me to you.
George couldn't speak anymore. He felt unsure about what to say, so he just stood there, staring at the old man without a clue.
