Chapter 7 HIS GRACEFUL RETURN

CLARA

I spotted Genevieve from a distance as she rushed over to me at once. "Don't worry, let me take care of her." She said to Killian, pulling me away but Killian held me back.

"I was instructed to guide her to her suite." He said with a menacing stare as the two glared at each other. It got me wondering what sort of troubles they had in the past because they were always at logger heads with one another. They never got along really well.

"Don't worry Killian, I will be fine." I mumbled to him as he glared at Genevieve who in turn stuck out her tongue at him.

"Are you sure about that?" Killian asked, glancing around. I knew he sensed I was uncomfortable with the way the pack members stared at me and their mean remarks.

"Are you deaf? Didn't you hear when she said she will be fine?" Genevieve pressed on, shooking her limbs as she glared at him.

Killian scoffed inwardly but didn't say a word as he walked away. I sighed out, turning to face her as I threw her an inquisitive stare.

"What was that for?" I muttered and she rolled her eyes at me.

"Come with me.....you've more explanations to do than I." She said as she pulled me away at once.

Once inside her lodge, she made me sit on her bed as she folded her hands, staring at me intently.

"What's wrong?" I asked, trying to play dumb even if I knew what exactly got her upset.

"Huh? Are you seriously asking me that? Why didn't you tell me about this? How did you become the Alpha's mate?" She asked and I shifted uncomfortablly, I didn't know whether to tell the truth that it was just a one night fling to me and nothing more.

"On the night of the Celestial memory, we met and he claimed me as his mate. It happened so fast so I didn't get the chance to tell you about it." I explained and she folded her hands, pouting her lips childishly as she rolled her eyes, playfully glaring at me.

"Ohh common." I groaned with a chuckle as I rose up and walked towards her, tugging at her hoodie slightly.

A smile eventually crept to her lips as i began tickling her and she bursted out laughing as we ran across the room.

"Stop please." She yelled breathlessly, amidst fits of laughter.

Few moments later, she was helping to dress my little neck injury.

"Thank goodness, nothing bad happened to you." She muttered and I stared at her in shock.

Everyone was disappointed in the Alpha for choosing me over the pack's glory but she was different.

That's why she is called your friend, not just a friend but a true one. My inner mind said to me as I let out a smile.

"I never imagined the Alpha would do that but I'm grateful he did because I was really scared that something bad might happen to you." She said with so much concern laced in her tone.

"But my stay here might be hellish. The pack members are hating on me simply because of what the Alpha did all because of me. I knew this was bound to happen and I really wished he chose the staff over me...." I was still talking when Genevieve threw me a sharp glare.

"What are you saying? The Alpha's considers you to be one of us so what's the essence of keeping the staff when a member of the pack has to go in its place." She said meaningfully and I found myself keying to her words.

"How I wished the rest could think the same way but it ain't possible because everyone has their own mindset." I said with a down casted look as the mean remarks from earlier came afresh in my memory.

"Don't worry Clara!! The Alpha will return back the pack's glory and your name will be cleared." She assured me, holding on to my hands as she gave me a reassuring smile and returned back to treating my injury.

Then, she suddenly sat up, startling me as I stared at her in confusion.

"Princess Elena is bound to return before the next full moon, oh my goodness!! I hope you won't have a rough encounter with her." She stated and my head clicked, I heard a maid mention about the same thing earlier.

Who was this Princess Elena and how does this concerns me in any way?

"Talking about her...who's she?" I asked, curiosity getting the best part of me.

"She's a close friend to the Alpha, rumors has it that they were mates but Alpha Ryhs rejected her and she left as a result of shame. But that isn't the truth though, she was a really close friend to the Alpha and they dated through high-school but got separated during college because her parents claimed she should study abroad." Genevieve narrated and I listened carefully.

"Hmmn....close friend to the Alpha....I see." I said subconsciously and she threw me a silly stare.

"Hmm....why do I scent a hint of jealousy in that tone?" She asked, her eyes screaming mischief as I chuckled nervously.

"Jealous....what...I'm not....how can I be jealous?" I mumbled, looking else where nervously as she burst into laughter.

"Ohh...laugh all you want but I ain't jealous, that's just the fact." I murmured plainly, getting quite upset as she laughed harder and I scoffed and almost rose up and walked out but she yanked me back by the arm.

"Now...don't get upset little missy....I was just teasing." She said with a meaningful smile as I rolled my eyes at her.

"Whatever...suit yourself!" I said with a scoff and she chuckled.

"So tell me..." She started as she leaned in, her eyes sparkling with interest.

"Has anything special thing occurred yet." She said intertwining her fingers as she shook her head slowly, her eyes screaming mischief.

"Nope...don't think about that yet." I had no reason why I lied about that fact. Maybe it was because my feelings weren't really clear to me yet.

"Oh common!!" She snorted with a shrug but moments later she leaned in again. Typical Genevieve!!

"Do you really like him?" She whisphered and I stared at her blankly, not knowing how to respond. I wasn't sure of my feelings yet but I really don't think I'm emotionally drawn to Alpha Ryhs.

"I..." My voice trailed as a loud cry rented the air.

"All hail the Lycan Alpha!!" The pack members hailed loudly as our eyes widened in shock and I rushed out at once to know the outcome of his mission.
