CLARA
My heart was threatening to rip out my chest as I lay on the ground for a while but I didn't feel any hit or whatsoever. Instead, I heard loud growls and the sound of shuffling feets like a battle was going on.
It took all the courage in me to open my eyes as I slowly gazed at the fight going on. The two normal wolves who were watching me for afar were wrestling with the rugged looking wolves. I recalled Genevieve had once told me about wolves like that, they were specifically called rogues.
I immediately rushed to rise on my feet as I watched the two light blue fur wolves tear the rogue into smouldering.
I almost puked at the sight as my stomach somersault at the sight of dark red blood and thorn pieces of flesh scattered on the floor.
It seemed the two wolves didn't actually mean to harm me just the same way I didn't mean to harm the birds. Maybe, they noticed the rogue approaching me slowly and they decide to come to my aid.
Soon, they succeeded in ending it's life as they stared at me shortly but I couldn't even mutter a word, I was still trying to recover from the shocking incident.
They turned back and began hopping away slowly and that was when my tongue suddenly got loosed.
"Heyy...wait please." I called out and they halted on their tracks without glancing back at me.
"Thank you!" I mumbled innocently. I thought the pack members all despised me and wanted me gone. Who were they and why were they so kind to me? No one apart from Genevieve was ever kind to me here?
The pack members would gladly watch the rogue tear me into pieces rather than lifting a finger to help me.
They exchanged glances and began hopping away again but I called out to them in a more louder voice.
"I thought you all despised me....I never knew you still cared a bit about me. I'm so grateful for that." I mumbled and this time they glanced at themselves for a while as they began shifting back to their human forms and I waited in anticipation to see who this kind werewolves were.
To my shocking discovery, it was the twin sisters Genevieve referred to as the snobbish twins. One of them saved me from getting into the cursed lake and today they both saved me from getting devoured by a hungry looking rogue.
"Oh my goodness, this is making it the second time you're coming to my aid. Thank you so much!" I said, sincerely expressing my gratitude but it was rewarded with silence as none of them refused to say a word.
Were they really dumb? Or was it just a pretence to keep people off their backs. I recalled that Mira, my best friend who betrayed me was just exactly like them when we were in high school. She was the introvert type and hardly talks in class to the extent most people assumed she was dumb, claiming they had never heard what her voice sounds like.
Along the line, we became close friends and she began hanging out with some other friends of mine as we went on several school excursions together and did so many things until we finally became best friends. Somehow, I was able to bring her out of her quiet loner life to an extroverted life even though I was literally an introvert.
"We just did what we should...it isn't a big deal." One of them said in bored tone as they made to leave.
"No...please wait...can I know your names please?" I asked, knowing fully well that my question might not be replied to.
"I'm Tina and she's Lina." Tina mumbled and I smiled shockingly because I wasn't expecting a reply.
I cleared my throat as I smiled nervously, enjoying their company to an extent.
"Ok...nice names, it's cool meeting you!!" I mumbled and they just nodded simply as they turned around and walked away.
I sighed out, at least I was able to get to know their names. That was a good lead though.
Just then, they stopped at once without glancing back as I furrowed my brows in curiosity.
"You know you are his true mate...just do the task." They muttered at the same time as I shook in fear a bit. They vanished out of sight at once, leaving me to ponder deeply on their words.
Was I really his true mate? What do I do now? How cam I become sure of my feelings in the next few hours?
What if Princess Elena turns out to be his true mate? That thought alone got ne upset as I clinched my jaws. I packed up my stuffs as I ran off from the woods, heading straight to Alpha Rhys suite.
I met Genevieve on the way as she threw me an inquisitive stare but I really needed to be at the palace immediately but I couldn't avoid her all the same.
"Where have you been all this while?" She asked but she soon noticed my stuffs as she glared hard at me, realising the truth.
"You went to the woods without me, I thought we were drawing buddies, I thought we were best friends. What changed? You've found someone else right?" She ranted childishly with a huge frown on her face.
"Oh common...you're my friend, my close buddy. I just wanted to have an alone time to clear my head a bit." I explained as she pouted nodding slowly.
"I heard what happened to the Alpha...what are you planning on doing about this? Why are you hesitating?" She asked, her brows dripping in confusion.
I sighed out, looking else where as her brows furrowed more.
"What? What's that look?....what's going on?" She asked, cupping my face in her hands as she made me face her.
"I'm not certain." I mumbled as she arched her brows.
"At the moment...Princess Elena has arrived and is now in the Alpha Rhys suite." She suddenly blurted out and I almost lost it as my eyes widened madly.
"What?" I yelled as I took to my heels at once, racing madly to his suite.
She called after me but I couldn't stop running until I got to the entrance of his suite and began panting heavily.
The door was slightly open as I walked in slowly and I really couldn't believe my ears.
A gorgeous, classy and sophisticated lady sat on his bedside stool, holding on to his arms, he was still asleep tho.
The priestess sat opposite her as they chatted.
"I'm ready!!" I heard the lady mumble as my hands shook and my sketchpad and my camera fell to the floor as they turned their gaze towards me.
