"But Leon-"
"But what?! Can't you hear me? I'm tired, I don't want to talk about anything for now. Leave me alone!"
Leon snorted as he continued walking up the stairs to his room, leaving Beatrice still in the living room with Abby. Leon only glanced at Abby slightly, finding Abby biting her lip, he could tell that Abby was holding back her emotions at the moment.
"Uh, Leon! What about me?" asked Beatrice.
"You just use the guest bedroom. I'll drop off some clothes for you in a minute." Leon snorted, but reluctantly had to do so.
Beatrice smiled as she glanced at Abby, a winning smile crossing her face as she came face to face with Abby. Abby knew that Beatrice kept her attitude towards her only when Leon was present, once Leon disappeared, her true attitude would be revealed.
"I bet you burned down your own apartment to get here," Abby accused.
"Do you really think I'm that kind of person? You know Abby, this place of yours should have been mine from the start. I only came back to reclaim what was rightfully mine. You don't deserve to be where you are right now. You're not on Leon's level, no matter how hard you try."
Beatrice's gaze was blank, looking at Abby with a vengeful look about their past. Leon broke up with her for strange reasons, according to Beatrice. And before long, she found out that Leon was going to marry Abby soon and Abby was already his fiancée.
"Why would you think that? From the beginning, Leon broke up with you clearly, then he was with me. What's wrong with that? I never took him away from you. You guys were already completely unrelated when Leon came to me," Abby retorted with emphasis.
"Ha! Leon came to you? That's a really funny four words. You obviously flirted with him when you lived with my family. You used to glance at him every time Leon came to visit." Beatrice gave Abby a spiteful look.
Abby remembered that time. She was still in school, and Leon was probably still in college too while interning at his family's company. Abby clearly knew that Leon often glanced at her first until she felt uncomfortable with his gaze.
Later, Leon would sometimes come and bring a lot of food for Beatrice's family. Abby sometimes participated in eating the food. Leon also often quietly engaged her in conversation and joked with her. In the past, it seemed normal, like Leon was just trying to get along with everyone.
"Why, can't you reply? It's true, you were the one who flirted him first. You little bitch!" cursed Beatrice, her gaze on Abby unchanged.
As soon as there was a sound from the stairs, Beatrice turned her head towards Leon who was coming down the stairs carrying clothes. Abby also turned her head towards Leon, finding him carrying her clothes.
"You can use that bedroom! And here are the clothes you can use." Leon directly gave Abby's clothes to Beatrice, in front of Abby.
Abby's eyes immediately widened. She looked at Leon with a surprised look. Then, Abby's hand reached out to snatch it directly from Leon before it touched Beatrice's hand.
"What are you doing? Are you planning to give my clothes to him?!"
"What the hell are you doing? Let go!" Leon looked at Abby, he was surprised by the aggressive action of Abby, who tried to snatch the clothes.
"These are my clothes! What are you going to do with them?!" Abby didn't plan to let go of the clothes from her hands at all.
"Let go! You still have plenty of clothes in your closet. She doesn't have anything to wear right now." Leon just held on to the clothes, waiting for Abby to let go.
"You can't do that! After you let her stay here, are you also going to give her my clothes? I don't want you to!" Abby argued.
"Abby... Rggh!" Leon snatched the clothes from Abby, staring at Abby while holding himself back.
Abby didn't give up. She held on to the clothes. She felt like Leon was handing over his position as wife to Beatrice through the clothes. It sounds dramatic, but that's what her heart felt. Her heart ached because of her husband's actions.
"Give it back!" Abby demanded.
"Abby, what's your problem?!" Leon lost his temper and violently snatched the clothes.
Abby even almost lost her balance as Leon used his strength to take the clothes away from her. Abby stared at Leon in shock, she had never had Leon be that rude to her, which certainly managed to make Abby speechless.
"Listen, Abby. I don't know what's wrong with you lately. Your attitude is so bad, you're not like anyone I know either. You offended Leah, you offended me, you offended my family, and now what? Beatrice's place just burned down. And your demeanor just now looks like someone who is greedy for material possessions. Like a gold digger."
Abby's eyes widened, she was clearly shaken by Leon's words. The word gold digger was quite rude. Even Leon said that to her.
While Beatrice watched the fight. She just looked at the two with a casual gaze. Like someone who enjoys their favorite drama, this was always the scene she was waiting for.
Leon looked at Abby's slightly glazed eyes, making his snort and turn his face away. Leon walked away from her, he gave the clothes he was holding to Beatrice.
"Wear these clothes first. I'll buy you a new one later, because she doesn't want you to use her clothes at all," Leon said while glancing at Abby sarcastically.
Abby's eyes glanced the other way. She was clearly hurt by Leon's words and actions at the moment.
"Alright, I understand. If I were in Abby's shoes, I might do the same thing. Abby probably just feels like I'm trying to take her place," Beatrice explained in a softer voice.
Leon just sighed and rolled his eyes. He then glanced at Abby.
"No one is taking anyone's place here. I told you, I'm not replacing you, I'm just adding a wife. What can you do without me?" Leon sarcastically.
Leon walked away again. He quickly went up to his room again, this time to take a short nap before he went to his office.
Beatrice smiled sarcastically at Abby and walked towards the bedroom Leon had indicated earlier. "Leon even agrees you're a gold digger."
Abby clutched her hand. She glanced at the pictures of her and Leon displayed at home. They were a happy couple during their two years of marriage.
Abby then quickly headed to her room to catch up with Leon. She looked at Leon who was taking off his clothes.
"Leon, we need to talk!"
"Shut up!" Leon glared at Abby, his index finger pointing at Abby. "You seem to be very afraid that my property will be divided."
"Leon..."
