Chapter 2 Routine Dinner

Abby looked at Leon who returned from his room and approached Beatrice, about to leave with her.

Leon could find Abby's sullen expression. It made him feel a little guilty, considering Beatrice was his ex-girlfriend and maybe Abby was jealous right now. He should have said something to Abby to calm her down.

"Come on, Beatrice!" Leon seemed a little rushed because he felt guilty for Abby.

Beatrice followed Leon from behind, glancing at Abby with a triumphant look. In fact, giving a mocking smile to Abby who was still affected by Beatrice's words.

Coming from different economic classes is also an internal problem in their relationship. The phrase gold digger was something that hurt Abby.

She only hopes to have a better life than when she grew up. Abby is also trying to get the better life she wants. Leon was the answer to her prayers, the result of her efforts.

However, this was not how Beatrice or Leon's family saw it. According to them, Abby didn't even make any effort, didn't contribute anything to her relationship with Leon. It was just a coincidence that Abby was beautiful and Leon loved her.

"You didn't say anything about the collaboration project. Does that mean you and Beatrice have been seeing each other a lot lately?" Abby followed Leon behind him.

Leon sighed, he looked stressed that night when he came home. After being away with Beatrice for two hours, he only intended to sleep. He had hoped that Abby was already asleep so that he wouldn't have to face her again. Unfortunately, Abby was waiting for him.

"Why aren't you sleeping? Shouldn't you be asleep by now?" Leon took off his shirt, he turned to look at Abby with a sharp gaze even though his voice was calm.

"I was waiting for you. I couldn't sleep because Beatrice was on my mind." Abby pouted.

"Don't think anything strange, she and I are just collaborating. Z-Kings is coming out with a couple's watch. It just so happens that she's an emissary of Glories for women's watches." Leon looked at Abby with a lazy gaze.

Abby could see that Leon's gaze at her had changed as he knew. Normally his eyes were so bright, and Abby could see all kinds of positive impressions from him. Now, those eyes only hinted at boredom, laziness, and even... dislike.

"Oh, I see..." Abby turned her face away, she couldn't bear to look at those eyes for too long.

Z-Kings was an internationally renowned men's watch company. Z stood for the initials of Leon's family, the Zerathons. It was a family business that started from a small watchmaker shop. While Glories was a women's watch company that had recently made a name for itself, Beatrice worked there.

Leon looked at Abby who seemed to be disappointed with his recent behavior. Deep down, he actually felt guilty for his behavior, but somehow he still couldn't make peace with himself.

"I'm tired, I'm going to bed soon," Leon said as he climbed the bed and looked at Abby who was still pensive where she stood.

Leon turned his face away and closed his eyes. He usually sleeps without clothes.

Abby climbed onto the bed slowly, trying not to disturb Leon. And Abby then approached Leon, hugging him from the side. She snuggled up to Leon, putting one side of her face on the edge of Leon's chest. Since there was no resistance, Abby put her hand on his chest.

Leon opened his eyes again. He could only sigh heavily. He felt sorry for her.

Abby began to ask herself, how long would Leon be like this. No, how long would their relationship be like this. Where Leon seemed to be losing passion for their relationship. And he was also almost crazy from loneliness.

The second Saturday of every month was a Saturday that Abby began to hate. Because having dinner together at the Zerathons' house was not fun.

"Uncle, did you bring anything else for me?" A little girl fussily approached Leon, with her cute expensive dress, she was really a princess.

"Of course I brought it. Ta-da!" Leon took out a toy box from the papper bag he was carrying, giving her a baby doll that looked like a real baby.

"Wow! Thank you, Uncle!" The little girl looked solemn as she hugged the box that was still wrapped around her new toy.

Abby smiled at Leon's niece who hugged Leon tightly. Leon who knelt in front of her also showed his dedication as an uncle. The scene was sweet, but the atmosphere it would bring was terrifying.

"Leon is so ready to become a father. Shouldn't you be ashamed of not being able to give him a child sooner?" The mother of the little girl was Leon's sister Leah.

Leah crossed her arms in front of her chest and looked at Abby sarcastically. Abby was younger than her, so Leah was sometimes insolent toward her brother's wife.

Leon, who is 28 years old, is four years apart from his sister who is only 24 years old. While Abby is half a year younger than Leah, they are currently both 24.

At 24 years old, Leah has a 5-year-old daughter. The explanation is that she got pregnant by accident, she said. Yes, everyone knows that if it was an accident, then her attitude would be better than what she is currently showing.

"My brother must be embarrassed to have a wife who can't get pregnant like you," Leah insulted.

"Leah!" Leon shot Leah a glare, but his reprimand was still not firm enough to defend his wife. "Shut your mouth!" he continued softly.

Abby was not satisfied with how Leon responded. However, she had to be grateful for it rather than Leon's silence. That was enough.

"At least your sister isn't wrong this time. Check her out, there might be something wrong with her." Leon's mother Kathrine looked at her children guiltlessly.

"Stop it, I'm sick of discussing the same thing every time I come home!" Leon grunted and sat at the dining table in annoyance.

Abby approached Leon to sit next to him.

"Abby, please help me with the food!" While pretending not to look at Abby, her tone sounded lazy but tried to hide her dislike for Abby.

"Okay, Mom." Abby immediately helped her mother-in-law to serve the food nearby.

Leah sat next to Leon while showing her cell phone.

"Leon, I have many friends who are no less beautiful than Abby. Look, they're all amazing people, and I can guarantee they can all give you children."

Abby gave Leah a sharp look as she served the food and Leah replied sarcastically.

"Yeah, she can guarantee it because they've had abortions like you, right, Leah?"
