Chapter 3 Figure it out

After having the girl's talk with Karina and Isa I started to realize a lot more about Jace. Now he's gone more often, he's working late and seems to never be interested in going out with me anymore.

"I'll be back later". Jace said while heading to the door, I sat up on the couch and looked at him.

"Where are you going?" I said confused.

"To a meeting with a client". He huffed.

"I thought you were off today? Plus today is our three year anniversary we were going to spend the day together". I stood up while folding my arms and looking at him. He just looked at me with a cold expression and rolled his eyes.

"Gosh Nola! Money never stops and besides you can celebrate it by yourself, I'll be home around 10pm". He opened the door and left.

His words hit me like a bullet, my heart hurt. Never would I thought Jace would do be the type of guy to ditch me on our anniversary date, The day that was very important to me.

"Celebrate it by yourself"

His words kept ringing in my ear like a bad song tune. I flopped back onto the couch and felt something wet on my cheek. I realized I was crying, I wiped my eyes and sat there thinking to myself. Who's this client you're destined to meet with on your day off? On this important day.

I grabbed my phone and texted Karina and Isa. "I need a huge favor from you guys, It's important".

I sent it and waited for a response. Please don't let me down guys.
