Chapter 8 Can't marry him

Esmeralda tried to push Richard away but he held her in place, she struggled till he finally let her go and then she slapped him hard in the face. She glared at him angrily and slapped him again. "How dare you?" She yelled at the top of her voice. "You slapped me?" Richard looked at her in disbelief. "And I will slap you again if you don't get out of my sight" Esmeralda said and walked back into Cassie's apartment shutting the door.

Richard stood there, his hands still on his cheek, he couldn't believe she slapped him, "you'll pay for this" he said and left.

"The invitations are out already, go pick your wedding dress" Emily urged her daughter through the phone. "Yes mom, I'll go with Cassie" Esmeralda said and hung up." Get ready Cassie, we need to go pick a wedding dress" she said to Cassie. "I know wait a moment" Cassie said with food stuffed in her mouth. "And you call me a foodie" Esmeralda rolled her eyes.

"I thought you said you won't get married, your marriage is the top search on the internet, changed your mind?" Gabriel asked Kian with a smirk. He is sitting across from him. "I don't have a choice, my mom is very serious this time" Kian sighed. "I looked up at your wife, she is really hot, I have a feeling you'll enjoy this marriage" Gabriel smiled and Kian scoffed. "I don't like her one bit, this marriage is for formality, she Will be like air to me, I won't spare her a glance" Kian said. "Uhmmm, what about Miranda, I heard she's back from new York, did she come see you" Gabriel asked. "Of course she did, and I made things clear to her again, she didn't seem like she would give up" Kian said nonchalantly. "That girl is crazy about you, she might even try something to stop your wedding " Gabriel said. "That would be a blessing on my part" Kian answered.

"This is so beautiful" cassie exclaimed as Esmeralda walked out of the dresser in her wedding dress. "Everything is beautiful, I tried five dresses already and they are all beautiful" Esmeralda frowned. "You can't blame me, everything suits you perfectly" Cassie defended. "I don't care anymore, I will wear this one" Esmeralda said and walked into the dresser to change out of the dress.

"Are you done picking your dress?" Emily asked. "Yes I am, am going home now" Esmeralda said through the phone, he mom has been calling her frequently to know her every move, it's getting annoying. "You should go see Kian in his company" Vivian chipped in through the phone, Esmeralda was shocked, was Vivian with her mom? The two women were having dinner together. "Yes, Esme, go see kian" Emily said. Esmeralda didn't want to argue, so she said okay and hung up.

"What?!" Miranda yelled looking at her phone. "Wassup, why are you yelling" Jacob asked with a confused look. "Kian is getting married, the invitations are out already, how's that possible, am his girlfriend" Miranda yelled again. "That has been all over the news, are you just seeing it, get a hold of your Miranda, Kian doesn't love you" Jacob said infuriated, his sister has been obsessing over Kian for a very long time and he was getting tired of it. Kian isn't good for Miranda but she would never listen. "She's not half as beautiful as I am, why would he choose her over me" Miranda yelled looking at her phone. "Let it go" Jacob said again. "You don't understand, Kian belongs to me, only me" she said stomping out. Jacob just sighed.

Esmeralda stopped her car in front of kian's company, she dropped Cassie off at the mall. She changed her mind and decided to drive away but why should she, not like she's doing anything wrong, she never wanted to come here, her mother forced her. She got down from the car and walked in, meeting the reception, she asked to meet kian, but the receptionist gave her a disgusting glare. " He is in a meeting, wait a moment" she said and Esmeralda nodded.

She waited there for almost 2 Hours, she got up to meet the receptionist again. "Miss green" Simon called and Esmeralda turned to him. "Hi" Esmeralda smiled. "Why are you here, are you here to meet the boss?, He is in his office, I will take you there" Simon offered, he was surprised when he found out his boss was getting married to the lady from the car accident, but he thought it would be better for him to get married and leave this playboy life style.

"The receptionist said he was in a meeting" Esmeralda said and Simon turned to the receptionist who had a worried look on her face, she saw how familiar Simon was with Esmeralda, was Esmeralda someone important to the boss? She thought. "Why did you tell her that" Simon asked the receptionist who remained there in fear. "It's okay, let's just go" Esmeralda said, dragging Simon along with her to the elevator.

When they got intomthe elevator, Esmeralda adked if all the staffs in the company were rude and arrogant like Kian and Simon laughed. Esmeralda didn't find it funny though. They got to the last floor and Simon showed Esmeralda the door to Kian office and she thanked him. She walked towards the office and pushed the door open recieving the shock of her life. Kian was having sex with some lady whom she believed was his secretary cause the secretary's desk was empty. She was so shocked she stood there, they didn't noticed her presence and she didn't make a single sound, when she came back to her sense she closed the door slowly and out her hand on her chest. The man she was getting married to in few days was having sex with his secretary. No way, she can't let this marriage happen, she won't survive at all. She thought, she went to her car and drove off.

Simon saw Esmeralda leave and sighed, he wouldn't have allowed her go and see Kian if he knew this would happen.

Esmeralda went home, she was thinking of how to cancel this wedding, if she did, he father would be so angry with her and her mother too, but she can't stay with Kian, she would go insane if she did. She looked at her phone beside her contemplating whether to call her mom and tell her or not. She ran her hands through her hair in frustration. Then an idea popped into her head. She took her phone and called her mom. "hey mom can I get kian's contact info, I just realized I don't have it" Esmeralda said immediately her mom picked the phone. "I'm glad you're are finally coming in terms with this, I will ask Vivian to send it to me immediately" Emily smiled and Esmeralda thanked her.

After 10mins, Esmeralda received a message from her mom containing kian's number, she immediately called him. "What?!" Came his deep voice. How rude, is that how he talks to people, she thought. "It's Esmeralda" she said. "I don't care, what do you want" Kian asked rudely. Esmeralda's blood was already boiling. "Let's meet so we can talk" she said. "I don't want to talk to you, I don't want to see you till on the wedding day and after that day I don't want to see you again" Kian said and hung up. Esmeralda was so annoyed, she wanted to throw the phone on the ground in anger but immediately hold on to it tightly, she can't afford to destroy a perfectly good phone.
