Chapter 5 Blind date II

Kian had no choice but to follow his mother, he knows she was very stubborn and persistent. He called James and told him he won't be attending the party.

Vivian knew that Kian won't go unless she forced him and wanted to use the opportunity to see who the girl was, if it was truly the doctor she saw at the hospital.

Esmeralda got dressed in a baggy black jeans and blue sweater she wasn't planning on staying there for long, she just wanted to tell the guy she wasn't interested. She told Cassie Goodbye and left the house. She was already late as it was almost 8pm.

She got inside the restaurant and looked around, they weren't much people here and the restaurant looked fancy, her eyes landed on a man on black suit sitting alone, she walked towards him and tapped his shoulder, he turned and her eyes widened. "You!?" She exclaimed.

Kian looked at her with a skeptical expression. "Who are you?" He asked obliviously. "Nobody, am leaving" Esmeralda said turning around, there's no way her mom set up a blind date with him and she was more than glad he didn't know her. She made to leave the restaurant when Vivian came into view. "Beautiful doctor" Vivian said. "Erhmm, my name is Esmeralda" Esmeralda smiled. "I know that" Vivian chuckled.

"Nice meeting you here again, I have to go, excuse me" Esmeralda said trying to leave but Vivian stopped her. "Aren't you here for a blind date?, You're meeting my son, his over there, he was excited to come here, you can't just leave" Vivian said. "Son?, Her son?, That bastard who smashed her car was this woman's son?, Excited to come here? Yeah.. right?" Esmeralda said in her mind. Vivian didn't wait for Esmeralda to reply she immediately dragged her towards Kian and made her sit opposite him, Kian was on his phone.

Vivian took kian's phone from him. "This is Esmeralda, and Esmeralda this is Kian my son" she said to the both of them. Kian kept a straight face looking at Esmeralda and Esmeralda chuckled slightly. "I will leave you too to talk" Vivian said leaving them.

Esmeralda wished the ground would open up and swallow her, A part of her wants to punch his this man's face for smashing her car and another part wants the ground to open and swallow her cause he was intensely gazing at her.

Kian was wondering where he met this girl, she looked so familiar, was she part of the girls her had sex with?. He couldn't figure it out.

"Erhmm, you should stop staring at me like that, I already know am beautiful" Esmeralda said with a slight smile. "beautiful? I have seen better girls" kian said indifferently. Esmeralda smile vanished, he was rude. "Well.. I only came in this blind date to tell you that am not interested in any of this, I don't want to be" she said. "Neither am i, my mom forced me here, I would have resisted more if I knew I would met an average looking girl" Kian said. "Average looking? Am way more beautiful than you think, is it because I didn't doll myself up, watch your mout you bastard, I already hate you for smashing my car" she said and immediately covered her mouth. "Ohhhh.. I knew you were familiar, you're the girl who refused to accept her faults" Kian said smiling. This just got better. "Hmm, I just want to tell you am not interested, am leaving" Esmeralda said standing up and leaving the restaurant and Kian looked at her back and chuckled.

Vivian saw Esmeralda coming out of the restaurant, she waiting for them in her car, Kian came out few seconds after and got into the car. "You guys didn't take long, did you say something to her, she looked annoyed when coming out" Vivian asked her soon with a frown. "I didn't say anything, she did most of the talking" Kian answered. "How was it, I want to know everything" Vivian asked. "Isn't that our private business? Am not tell you" Kian said and Vivian frowned.

Esmeralda walked into Cassie's apartment and slammed the door hard. "Guessing it didn't go well" Cassie said getting up to go to the kitchen, she came back with Juice in her hand and gave Esmeralda who quickly gulped down the content. "What happened?" Cassie said with curiosity. "You won't believe who I met" Esmeralda said. "The playboy billionaire, Kian Anthony?" Cassie said. "Wrong, it's the..." Esmeralda hooked. "How did you know?" She asked. "Wait am right?" Cassie asked. "Arghh, you're unbelievable, yes you're right, he's so annoying, are you sure his a billionaire, if how did my parents know his parents?" Esmeralda asked. "You're forgetting you're from a comfortable family, your father is a business man he is bound to meet people like kian's father" Cassie answered. "That's not the problem, the problem is why is our parents match making us, I would rather die than marry that arrogant and annoying jerk" Esmeralda yelled.

"My dear friend, so many girls are dying for the chance you have now, and you want to throw it away?" Cassie asked. "I don't care, you said it yourself that his a play boy, my heart has already been broken enough" Esmeralda said walking into the bedroom.

Esmeralda woke up the next day, she got ready for work as usual, Cassie was still on leave, she went to work and saw a some nurses and doctors gathered around, what's happening, she thought, she met a nurse and asked her, "didn't hear that the hospital is getting reconstructed, we are all given a month leave for this" the nurse said and left. A month leave, ahhh, this is a dream come true" she screamed in her head. She immediately went to Weston to confirm this information. Weston was the doctor she was walking under, a very strict man, a father of two kids. "Sir?, Is it true we are getting a month leave" Esmeralda asked as soon as she got into his office. "Yes, I can see you're happy about the fact" Weston said with a straight face. "not really, I will take my leave now, excuse me" Esmeralda said happily and left his office, Weston shook his head and continue his work.

Esmeralda got to her office and her phone rang. "Hey mom, good morning" Esmeralda said. "Hmm, morning" William replied to his daughter and Esmeralda shook, she wasn't expecting him to answer, she checked the number again and saw that it was her mother's number, Esmeralda and her father had never gotten along, he wanted her to study business instead of medicine but she was adamant on becoming a surgeon and when she started dating Richard, everything went went south with him. He never called or asked about her. She was surprised he was talking to her but why through her mother's phone.

William noticed that his daughter wasn't saying anything. "I am glad to hear you are no longer dating that parasite, I know you never listens to me but would you please listen for once, get married to Kian and settle down, do that at least" William said. Esmeralda was in awe, he didn't call to ask her how she was doing or ask about her health, he only wanted to force his decision on her again. She was sad. She didn't want to upset him but he is pushing her to the wall. "I will think about it" was all she could voice out before cutting the call. She dropped her phone and sighed.
