Chapter 9 Billionaire's Betrayal: A Love Lost

That evening, Bella was in her room, just relaxing after dinner with her family and a long phone call with Edward. She remembered Daniel and intended to message him to meet up tonight or tomorrow. While typing her message, she was surprised to receive a message from Daniel first, not because of that but because of its content. Bella was shocked to see photos and videos of her affair sent by Daniel. She paused for a moment, trying to process what was happening.

"What? So Daniel knows about my affair?" Bella muttered, panic evident on her face. She began to contemplate the possibilities of what would happen next.

"What should I do? I'm not ready to end things with Daniel. I still care about him," Bella continued, her voice trailing off slightly as she spoke the last sentence.

She felt torn, greedy for wanting both men to stay by her side.

"I have to explain this to Daniel, albeit with lies," Bella muttered, beginning to think about what she could do to keep Daniel with her.

She thought she might need Edward's help to explain things to Daniel, hoping he would assist her.

"Please pick up," Bella pleaded, panic evident on her face as she tried to call Daniel, but he didn't respond to her pleas.

Undeterred, Bella kept trying to call Daniel until his phone eventually went inactive, leading Bella to believe he intentionally turned it off.

"Ugh! Should I meet him at his office?" Bella muttered impatiently, fearing Daniel might unilaterally end their relationship. Although she felt relieved that nothing would restrain her afterward, her heart still couldn't bear to part ways with Daniel.

"I need to ask Edward for help," Bella muttered, then called Edward again to discuss her plan to seek his assistance.

"Come on, I hope he answers quickly," Bella muttered before Edward finally picked up the call after finishing his earlier phone conversation.

The woman smiled instantly upon seeing Edward answering. Immediately, Bella got straight to the point about why she called him again.

At first, Bella's hopeful expression conveyed her intentions for calling Edward, but after a few minutes, her demeanor changed, indicating Edward's response wasn't what she hoped for.

"Edward, please, help me," Bella said, sounding despondent.

"I... I can't let go of Daniel yet," Bella continued, hesitantly expressing her feelings to Edward.

"Edward, hello, hello Edward." Bella sighed in frustration when Edward abruptly ended their call.

"He must be angry again," Bella continued, sighing heavily as she stared at her phone with a dejected look.

It was evident that Edward didn't want to help Bella, as he immediately ensured their call ended after Bella stated her purpose for calling him.

"Ugh! What should I do now?" Bella muttered, confused by the problems that kept coming her way one after another.

"Should I just meet Daniel in person?" Bella pondered briefly before glancing at the clock, which showed it was already eight twenty.

After much contemplation, Bella finally decided to change her clothes and head towards the bathroom. She opted to go to Daniel's apartment and explain everything, although she wasn't sure if Daniel would immediately understand and believe her, as Bella was also explaining with deceit.

After getting ready, she left her room and descended the stairs, but she was stopped in the living room by her mother's voice calling her.

"Where are you going, Bella?" Yovanca asked, examining Bella's neat appearance as if she was about to go out.

"To Daniel's apartment, Mom," Bella answered honestly. Yovanca's response seemed disapproving, furrowing her brows.

"Why go to Daniel's apartment so late, dear? It looked cloudy outside earlier, and it might rain soon," Yovanca said seriously, making Bella sigh softly.

"It's okay, Mom, I'll drive there," Bella replied casually, causing Yovanca to sigh patiently.

"It will be dangerous for you, Bella. It's already late, and if it rains later, there might be dangers on the road. It's better to go to Daniel's apartment tomorrow, especially if you intend to go alone," Yovanca advised her eldest daughter gently.

"But there's something important that requires me to meet Daniel, Mom," Bella insisted, still determined to meet Daniel so he wouldn't be extremely angry with her. Bella didn't want their relationship to end completely.

"What important matter, Bella? Is it more important than your safety?" Yovanca asked again, making Bella sigh softly and fall silent for a moment. Bella was unsure how to respond.

"Basically, it's very important, Mom, related to my relationship with Daniel," Bella said after a few seconds of silence, and they both remained quiet. Yovanca sighed heavily upon hearing that.

"As important as it is, your safety, Bella, is much more important!"

"But if you're stubborn and still want to go, go ahead. Mommy will lock the door so you can't come back, and don't forget Mommy will report to your Daddy so you can be punished for not obeying Mommy's words," Yovanca continued, instantly making Bella shut her mouth tightly.

'What should I do?' Bella wondered, starting to feel conflicted.

She looked silently lost in her thoughts before she gazed back at her mother with a pleading look. "Mom, please, this time don't report it to Daddy, I can stay at Angel's house if you lock the door," Bella pleaded.

Yovanca, upon hearing that, didn't even glance at Bella. The middle-aged woman remained silent before Bella pleaded with her again while holding onto her arm.

"Mommy."

"Hmph! Don't take too long! When you're done, come straight back! Mommy doesn't want you to stay overnight at Daniel's apartment too often!" Yovanca said firmly after a gruff sigh. She reluctantly agreed to Bella's request.

"Okay, Mom, thank you, Mommy," Bella replied, briefly hugging her mother before she said goodbye and left.
