Chapter 10 Billionaire's Betrayal: A Love Lost

On the other hand, Edward slammed his bedroom door harshly after leaving his room. He looked upset after abruptly ending his call with Bella.

Understandably so, Bella was a woman deeply loved by Edward, and his desire was for Bella to end her relationship with Daniel soon. But instead, he received a call from Bella asking for help to prevent her relationship with Daniel from ending. Naturally, Edward was angry and frustrated because the end of Bella and Daniel's relationship was what he hoped for.

Edward stomped down the stairs, intending to go to the kitchen to get a drink because suppressing his anger made him thirsty and he needed cold water to clear his mind.

However, on his way to the kitchen, he was called by a middle-aged woman, his mother. Sitting on the living room sofa, she waved him over to sit beside her.

"What's up, Mom?" Edward asked, clearly not in a good mood. His facial expression showed he wasn't in the mood to respond to his mother's call.

"Come here for a moment," his mother, named Renny, said with a meaningful expression on her face.

"I'm lazy, I just want to get a drink and go back to my room, Mom," Edward refused openly to comply with Renny's request for him to sit with the woman who had given birth to him.

"Are you daring to defy me?" Renny replied with a sharp gaze that made Edward reluctantly obey his mother's words. He couldn't refuse his mother's request when she had already issued a threat with her eyes.

"Ugh!" Edward sighed softly and very quietly. Luckily, Renny didn't notice it. So now Edward resignedly sat next to Renny with his mood already shattered.

"What's up, Mom?" Edward asked, trying to contain his annoyance and patiently deal with his mother who never wanted to be contradicted.

Renny's expression looked even more serious, which made Edward stop being suspicious about what his mother was going to say. 'I suddenly have a bad feeling,' he thought to himself.

"Is it true that you kicked Gisel out of your office this afternoon?" Renny asked, instantly confirming Edward's suspicions. It turned out his uncomfortable feeling was true, that something bad was going to be discussed by his mother.

Edward initially remained silent, prompting Renny to ask again in a firm tone, "Answer my question, Edward!"

Edward immediately looked at his mother with a doubtful gaze. 'Damn! She must have complained to Mommy! Just wait and see later!' Edward cursed silently in his mind.

"No, Mom, I just didn't want to be disturbed because I was busy, so I asked her to leave instead of bothering me while I was working," Edward replied, trying to remain calm in his response while evading and disagreeing with what his mother said.

"But you said words that implied kicking Gisel out, didn't you? Then why didn't you accept the lunch she brought? You really can't appreciate someone's gesture, Edward!" Renny said sharply, her eyes piercing into her son's.

Hearing everything Renny said made Edward curse inwardly once again, wondering why he was being interrogated by his mother now.

'Rather than this dragging on, it's better if I just give in,' Edward thought, feeling lazy to argue and wanting to return to his room as his heart wasn't in a good place because of Bella.

"I'm sorry, Mom, I already ate lunch so I couldn't accept the food she brought," Edward replied.

"Once again, I apologize," he continued, actually apologizing to his mother.

Renny was obviously annoyed. "Ugh! If that's the case, you can just take a little of her food, Edward! You should appreciate your fiancée!" she said firmly before continuing her suspended sentence.

"And one more thing, don't apologize to Mommy! Apologize to Gisel!"

Edward sighed heavily. "Yes, Mom, if I don't forget tomorrow, for now, let me get a drink because I'm very thirsty," he replied curtly before quickly getting up from the sofa and leaving his mother who called out his name in annoyance.

"Edward! You disrespectful child!" Renny fumed, unable to understand her son's behavior, even though she hadn't finished speaking.

"Daniel, please forgive me, I can explain everything, all those videos and photos are not what you think, honey," Bella pleaded, continuing to speak in front of Daniel's bedroom door, which was locked from the inside by the apartment owner.

Bella had access to enter and exit Daniel's apartment anytime, but she couldn't unlock Daniel's bedroom door just like that because she didn't have a spare key. Fortunately, the room wasn't soundproof, so Bella's efforts pleading with Daniel in front of his bedroom door weren't entirely in vain.

Knock knock

Bella had lost count of how many times she had knocked on Daniel's bedroom door. In short, she was tired of standing there while continuously knocking on Daniel's door, not to mention Bella had been making sounds to persuade Daniel since earlier.

"Sweetheart, please open the door, I want to talk to you and explain everything, it's all just a misunderstanding, Daniel," Bella once again tried to reason with Daniel, who remained inside his room without responding to Bella's words.

"Daniel," Bella called softly, sounding like she was about to give up.

The woman might have been standing in front of the door for almost half an hour.

"Daniel, please," Bella pleaded with a very pleading voice.

Bella sighed heavily because Daniel still hadn't responded until now. She glanced at her watch, causing Bella to move away from Daniel's door.

"I'm tired, I've been here for quite some time and Daniel still hasn't come out," Bella muttered again as she sat on the sofa.

Bella stared at Daniel's bedroom door with a sad look, and upon closer inspection, she seemed teary-eyed, as if she was about to cry.

"Huffhh! He's really furious, it's better if I try again tomorrow," Bella muttered again, sighing heavily before she got up from the sofa and left. Bella didn't want her mother to get angry because she came home too late.

The woman stopped her steps after leaving Daniel's apartment unit. "Is it raining?" she murmured, realizing the sound of rain that she could still hear.

Bella hurriedly walked so she could get home quickly before the rain became too heavy. What the woman's mother said was indeed true, it might rain later.

"Hopefully you'll agree to meet me tomorrow, Daniel," Bella murmured after she was inside the car and ready to leave.
