Chapter 8 Bitter sweet

The girl was good to go and she left happily.

"You did a good job. What you did was not easy" said Mr Archey to Shasmi who dropped down in tears.

"But i couldn't stop my sister from doing it. I failed to do it for my sister" she cried on the floor and Mr Archey hugged her.

No one was around the classes at that moment.

"Look, i don't know what happened but if you couldn't save your sister in a similar situation, i think this was a chance she gave you to do what you couldn't do. And you did it. You did it so well and passed with flying colours. There is no need for you to cry now" said Mr Archey trying to calm her down.

He hugged her like that for a while until she cooled off.

"I'm sorry i couldn't control myself" said Shasmi and stood up quickly wiping her tears.

"No its okay i understand. Everyone has got problems so its okay to cry. I hope you feel better now" said Mr Archey and she nodded in agreement.

"Go take a rest but make sure to see me tomorrow before the sunday service begins. I have something for you" he said and left Shasmi standing there looking at him leaving.

"What did i do? I let him hug me. Will he think i was seducing him?" Wondered Shasmi all to herself as she left for the dormitory.

She needed to take a rest.

She rushed to her cube and fell on her bed.

"Why am i shaking?" She wondered to herself.

Each time she closed her eyes, she just saw Mr Archey hugging her.

"Thank God no one saw us in such a position" she told herself.

Mr Archey took his car and drove out of school.

The school principal did not own any car but the new teacher had a car of his own.

Not just any car but a very expensive Lexus.

When the Principal saw that, she said to herself that she will also own a car before the year ended.

Even the deputy principal had a car so the Principal swore to buy a car soon.

"Deskie its time for supper. We are having fried rice. Lets buy some soft drinks from the canteen or milk" said Tiana who found Shasmi sleeping.

"Are you okay?" Asked Tiana again.

"Yes i'm fine" said Shasmi

"You look like you cried. Did you think about your sister again?" Asked Tiana

"Dont worry i'm fine. Lets go serve. I dont want to miss the fried rice" said Shasmi getting off her bed.

"I know you are not okay. Look, the Principal is not around so the computer teacher has allowed us in the computer lab until 8pm. You can log in on facebook and talk to your elder sister. I know you'll feel better then" said Tiana

"You know me better" said Shasmi and the two friends rushed out.

They served the fried rice and meat, bought some milk from the canteen, hid the food in class and went to the computer lab.

Their fellow students were already there.

They were only 10 students taking computer in form three and they were allowed in the lab anytime.

They sat in their seats and browsed.

Tiana's computer was in another row which was far from Shasmi's row.

The computer teacher was with them but she was watching some videos on YouTube.

There was free Wi-Fi in the school and they made Wi-Fi cables for each of their computer's.

Shasmi logged in on facebook and texted her sister but she was offline.

She was still feeling down but just then Mr Archey walked in the lab and sat on a computer next to Shasmi.

"Still feeling down?" He asked after a moment of silence.

Shasmi's heart was beating stupidly fast and she wasn't feeling comfortable at the moment.

"How about this, let me give you what i should have given you tommorow. Maybe it might cheer you up" said Mr Archey when Shasmi did not answer.

Tiana had not seen Mr Archey come in.

Some of the other students had seen him and they kept texting each other on Instagram as to how he is getting close to Shasmi.

They even wonder what they are talking about since they are sitted one metre away from each other in different rows.

Mr Archey brought out a small box and gave it to Shasmi.

"What's this? And why are you giving it to me?" Asked Shasmi

"You impressed me today when you saved that girl's life. That's why i want to give it to you as a thank you gift. Open it" he said

They were talking in low tones such that the others were dying in curiosity.

Shasmi opened up the box and found a very lovely shiny black watch with diamond glitters on the watch display.

"Wow!" She gasped in a smile.

"I dont know your favourite colour so i took the black one since it matches with everything" he said

"You didn't have to. This looks expensive" she said.

"Please don't say that. You deserve it. Hope you like it" he said

"I dont like it....i love it" she said happily and almost jumped up to hug him but then all eyes were on her.

Just then Tiana noticed them.

"Sir Archey, when did you come in?" Asked Tiana

"Not long ago. I was just leaving anyway" he said.

"You can stay longer. Lets watch a movie on my computer" she proposed.

"Okay sure" he said and followed Tiana to her row.

Shasmi's mood was lightened.

She wore the watch and it looked so beautiful on her.

It looked like the water proofed one.

She got back to her computer and found a new friend request.

She accepted it without reading the name and she received a text from the new friend.

"I'm glad your mood is lightened" it read and she gasped.

"How did you know about my username?" Asked Shasmi to the new friend whose username was snoopy dog.

"Your computer was wide open so i saw it. Please let it be a secret that we follow each other on facebook. Tiana too shouldn't know. You can text me if you get bored" he texted and she smiled.

"Why are you being nice to me?" Asked Shasmi

"Because you are nice" he replied and she blushed stupidly.

He was using his phone all the time as she watched a movie with Tiana.

Tiana was however happy that they were watching a movie together.

The computer teacher had no problem with that since he was flirting with one of the students called Gracious.
