Chapter 4 Bitter sweet

The tution lesson went by so well even though Mr Archey was so angry as Shasmi was very happy.

"Sir, thanks for the lesson" said Taina as the girls left to head to their dorm.

"Mr Archey looked angry and nervous at the same time. Did you guys have a fight?" Asked Tiana

"Fight? Why would we? Do we even know each other?" Asked Shasmi

"Whatever but he is so cute. Infact he is the cutest teacher in school now. Can you believe he came to school in his own car? He is damn rich. When he teaches, whoever answers a question correctly or whoever asks a question gets a big daddy lollipop" explained Tiana

"So did you get any?" Asked Shasmi

"I got two. I'll give one to you" said Tiana

"No thank you. It was your hard work so have it. I'll just get biscuits from the canteen. I really need to take a shower now" said Shasmi and rushed to the dorm immediately after dropping her books at the locker.

The two bestfriends took a shower together that evening before supper and they chatted alot.

Mostly about the holiday they just came from two days ago.

"So deskie, did you meet Sam during the holiday?" Asked Tiana as they were having supper which was rice and meat that day.

They had nicknames for each type of food they ate in school.

When it came to rice, they called it Kipets.

"Well, yeah i met him once. He was with his latest girlfriend. He said hi to me but i pretended to not have heard what he said and i went away" said Shasmi and the girls laughed.

Sam was Shasmi's ex boyfriend.

They broke up since she was in form two and never dated again until now she is in form three third term.

"But girl, will you stay single forever? Won't you accept Hudson?" Asked Tiana

"You know i don't like Hudson. Let me tell you, ever since Sam and i broke up, i've never fallen in love with any other man. They don't interest me at all. Men are scam you know that" said Shasmi

"But Mr Archey doesn't look like scam" said Tiana.

"Whoa girl, you like him?" Asked Shasmi

"He is so dreamy you know that. Just look at him, there he comes" said Tiana pointing towards Mr Archey who was approaching carrying a book in his left hand and his phone in the other.

"Does he stay in school?" Asked Shasmi

"Yes, i heard people saying they saw him going to the teachers' quarters with a very huge suitcase" replied Tiana.

"Good for you. Good luck in making him like you" said Shasmi who noticed that Mr Archey's shoe laces were open before she could go and wash her plate.

She couldn't stand it seeing shoe laces untied.

She gave her plate to Tiana and moved towards Mr Archey who was stunned as he saw her going down to tie his laces.

"What are you doing?" He asked

"I hate to see laces untied. Just let me tie them else i won't feel good" she said and finished tying them.

"You might fall and embarrass yourself if you walk with untied laces" said Shasmi who turned to see Tiana behind them.

Students from around already turned to look at what was happening but they all knew how Shasmi behaved with untied laces.

They just pitied Mr Archey who did not know about it.

His expression was on another level.

"Deskie look, its your favourite novel, Accidentally kidnapped" said Tiana pointing towards the book that Mr Archey held.

"I didn't know biology teachers read such novels too" said Shasmi

"We are humans too and we have hobbies. Anyway thank you for tying the laces" said Mr Archey.

"Get used to it anytime your laces are untied. She will always go down to tie them. But sir, your hobby is reading novels?" asked Tiana

"Yeah, just one of my hobbies" said Mr Archey

"My deskie likes to read novels too and then she narrates them to me. You should hear her narrate stories to you. She is just good at it and you enjoy every bit of it. You might even start day dreaming of a movie she is just making up in her mind" explained Tiana but Shasmi got angry and left.

"Why is she angry?" He asked

"She doesn't like it that i tell you about her" said Tiana

"Oh and its okay. Anyway have a nice evening Tiana, we'll talk more next time" he said and left.

"He said we can talk more? So there is a next time to talk more?" Asked Tiana to herself and ran after Shasmi to tell her the good news.

She reached the tap and found Shasmi already done cleaning her plate but the tap was already full with students.

Good thing Shasmi had carried a bottle of water for Tiana to drink and there was water in her plate for Tiana to wash her plate.

That's how they used to do it as friends.

"If you want a conversation with your crushie, then give out your information and not mine. I don't want to be famous" said Shasmi

"Okay i'm sorry but you know what, he said we will talk more next time" said Tiana.

"Then thats a good start for you. One important thing, next time you guys meet to talk, just be yourself. Talk about you two alone" said Shasmi

"Ah, deskie you know these things na. Give me some tips" said Tiana

"I just told you, be yourself. If he is meant to like you, he will. And dont force things, let fate do its way. You get me?" Asked Shasmi

"Yes i get it. That's why you are my bestie. Or how about this, if i get a chance to talk to him again, please go with me so that you can correct me when i go wrong" said Tiana

"Bad idea. It should be your moment and i shouldn't be there" said Shasmi and pulled her bestie to class.

"But deskie i want to go with you" said Tiana

"Shut up, we have just 2 minutes before the bell rings for evening devotion. You know that i'm the one singing today. Let me practise alitte more" said Shasmi.

"Come on deskie no one can beat you in singing. You can sing so well even without practise so its okay" said Tiana

"Thanks for that but i've never sang for anyone in this school. I only sing at our church at home. Its my first time in this school" said Shasmi

"Its okay. Just breath in and out. It will be okay" said Tiana and Shasmi did so.

The evening devotion was usually done at the assembly ground with all the students present and as usual Muslims not available.

That day, Shasmi was chosen to sing since the chairlady found her singing secular music in the dormitory.

She just wanted to mock her since she did not like Shasmi but she did not know what was awaiting her.
