Chapter 6 Bitter sweet

Mr Archey took the girls towards the library where Mr Osanzi was having tea.

"You are the girl with the angelic voice" said Mr Osanzi

"Thank you" replied Shasmi.

"Are you two always together?" Asked Mr Archey

"Yeah. Where you see me, you see her and where you see her, you see me. We are like twins" replied Tiana

"I see. You can study over there. Pick any books you like" said Mr Archey to the girls.

"Thank you for saving us" said Shasmi

"We are draw now" replied Mr Archey and Shasmi smiled as she moved away towards a seat in the library.

Mr Archey looked at her and he got curious about her cute smile.

Mr Osanzi noticed him and pat his shoulder and they sat at a table chit chatting slowly.

"Why were you looking at her?" Asked Mr Osanzi

"I dont know. I'm just curious about her" said Mr Archey honestly.

"You just met her today and you heard the principal's rule" said Mr Osanzi

"I don't have such intentions nor will i ever date a student. I'm just curious because she is just... what do i say? She does things that amaze me. I just met her but she tied my shoe laces, she taught me something else too and her voice, i dont know but it made me feel light. I forgot all my problems in those few minutes she sang. Thats why i am curious. I dont know what she will do next" explained Mr Archey looking at the girls discussing something at a distance.

"I will tell you what she will do next" said Mr Osanzi

"What?" He asked

"She will steal your heart and there is nothing you will do about it" said Mr Osanzi smiling.

"You are talking nonsense. It will never happen" said Mr Archey

"Okay but how long will you stay single? Its been two years already" said Mr Osanzi

"You won't understand Michael" said Mr Archey

"To mean you haven't moved on?" Asked Mr Osanzi

"I did move on long time ago. Its just that, you know i can't date if i dont love. If i ever find love again, then i will surely date again but not now" explained Mr Archey

"Okay but be careful, you might fall the beauty with an angelic voice. She beautiful and with a fine body" said Mr Osanzi

"Why dont you pursue her then? I dont pursue students" said Mr Archey

"Don't say that dude. Student and teacher are just titles. We are all human beings and we got feelings. If you happen to meet her outside school, will you also say that she is a student? These girls can dress up outside school and look like women and ladies with class. Anyway if you happen to like her, i will support you" said Mr Osanzi smiling.

"You are one fine gentleman who keeps talking nonsense" said Mr Archey and left him alone as he went to check on what the girls were discussing.

Soon the night prep was over and the girls walked back to their class.

Mr Archey gave them 5 questions on chemistry to work on before they meet on Wednesday.

"Ah deskie i hate it when its night" said Shasmi

"For real. Its scary" added Tiana as they kept their books in the lockers.

They never extended to read some more.

They always told each other to respect time and not to disturb the brain.

"Let's go and sleep guys. The witches and devils are waiting for us in the dorm" said Melina packing her books.

"Ah Melina stop saying like that. You are scaring us" said Tiana

"Tiana you are scared?" Asked Melina and laughed

"I dont have super powers to fight such people so just leave me in peace. Let me go and sweat in my blankets. I just want to go home" said Tiana and they all laughed at her.

"The term has just began and you want to go home? Tiana you are not serious with studies" said Melina

"You don't know how i risk my life everyday sleeping in that dorm. Who has anointing oil? Please share it with me" said Tiana

"But guys for real, these demons are giving us sleepless nights everyday. You dont know who is who. I'm even scared to sleep with anyone even though i want to sleep with someone. Tiana, lets share a bed" said Phina the short girl but they usually called her short put.

"Ah short put sleep alone. What if they are looking for you today and they find you in my bed? I dont want to risk" said Tiana as they were heading to their dorms and they all laughed out loud along with students from other classes.

"Ah we have God. He is out Bazu, who can harm us" said Melina

"Yes. Why should we fear when sir God is watching us" said another student from another class.

Her name was Sharon. She was a good friend to Melina and was also funny.

"Look, Tiana, if they strangle you tonight, scream Jesus!! You will see how thunder will strike them" said Sharon and they all laughed again.

"Hee stop mentioning it to me. Why should they strangle me? God forbid. Infact i don't want to hear these stories again. Tell them to me in the morning i will feel very brave" said Taina and pulled her deskie inside the dorm as the rest of the students were left laughing as they departed to different dorms.

Some students were already fetching water in their basins while some in their jerricans.

Those who never wanted to wait for Saturday or Friday to fight for hanglines, were already washing their clothes.

"Deskie let me sleep early before the lights get switched off. That way i won't get scared" said Shasmina.

"You are right dear. Let me do the same" replied Tiana and they quickly changed into their night gowns, washed their feet then got to bed.

Thats how it was almost every night in that school.

The students were always fearful.

At times the nights were peaceful but during the first week of opening school and the last week of closing school, witches and devil worshipers would work on them thoroughly.

They would have sleepless nights.

Either some students would scream in the night or they would hear strange voices talking in the dorm.

Sometimes they would see strange creatures walking in the dorms or wake up seeing droplets of blood all over the dorm.

But since the new principal came, with her non stop prayers, the cases were deducting and anyone who was known to be a witch or a devil worshiper was expelled from the school.

At times they would find the new principal walking around the dorms in the middle of the night praying fervently while sprinkling anointing oil in all corners.
