Chapter 4 4

Seia's POV

"Mei, what's your favorite color ??" Peter asked curiously.

Meisha immediately thought. No way, don't tell me he doesn't know what his favorite is yet?

"Ah .. anything?" Meisha raised both her eyebrows at the same time.

I opened my mouth slightly before shaking my head and just read the book again. Meisha is getting a little more comfortable with us because of Peter.

Well, Peter is really known for being friendly.

But .. that's not really what I'm thinking. What I'm thinking until now is Meisha's reaction earlier in the room. How he looked at me badly.

I feel like something is wrong. I don't know what it is. I don't even know if what I saw before was just my imagination or not.

I sighed and leaned my head next to me. I felt that it caressed my hair, causing my thoughts to disappear immediately.

"Do you have a problem?" I heard Finn ask.

I just shook my head, "Nothing. I want you to rest. " I said before closing my eyes.

I can't tell Finn what I'm thinking. Because when they find out that, Meisha might be damned and be my fault.

I have to be careful of the words I also utter to Cindy. I gasped.

What is going on around me? It's like we're trapped in the lair of demons or let's say hell.

"I have a question, Finn." I heard Meisha call Finn. "Are you two really just friends with Seia or girlfriend?"

My eyes quickly opened and I automatically sat up straight. My mouth opened slightly as I gave Meisha an unbelievable look.

"What kind of question is that, Mei. Of course they will be friends, right? " Peter replied.

I secretly glanced at Finn while waiting for his answer. I don't know but I seem to want to hear his answer.

What are we?

"Yeah, Seia is just my friend." My two shoulders seemed to drop before looking at Meisha and smiling at the same time nodding.

That's right. Just friends.

"But why did you ask that, Meisha? Why are you interested in Finn? " Chloe raised an eyebrow as she asked this.

Mysterious stone? Is that the gemstone he's talking about?

Meisha immediately took a deep breath and was about to take the gemstone from Kael when she suddenly took it away. My forehead furrowed quickly.

"Ahm .. can I have it?" said Meisha.

"Not allowed." Kael answered immediately before hiding it in his pocket again.

I noticed that Meisha was held by its side which made me even more surprised. But when I noticed his eyes, I was there to confirm that he was in pain.

"Kael, just give it to him." I command reason for it to look at me before sighing.

He turned his gaze to Meisha, "Before that, what is this for? Why are you carrying this? " he asked.

Meisha immediately calmed down. He also looked at Kael seriously.

"That was from my sister, I didn't know that the one with me at home was a monster because if you also look at how he looks. He just seems normal. He attacked me in that house but I killed him immediately and that's what came out of his body. " Meisha's explanation.

If so, he also saw that his sister had become a monster.

We have two gemstones that we brought over here and that's what we're doing warning. Sometimes we carry one when we leave to make sure we are safe.

I looked at Meisha when I noticed that she seemed confused. Could it be because of the aftershock? I want to approach him but maybe just repeat the previous one.

I don't want to see his looks again as if he's going to kill someone.

Meisha's POV

After we talked earlier, the others left immediately because they still had work to do.

I, on the other hand, just remained silent while sitting on the sofa. I'm still thinking about what they said about this stone.

They seem to be right because on those days when I was alone and I could see all of a sudden the stone or gemstone I was holding was shining, there were also monsters appearing around.

But what if it glowed just because of me?

I swallowed my own saliva before shaking. When that happens I am dangerous.

"Meisha." I quickly looked at the habit when speaking. Si Kael.

"I'm sorry I got married earlier." He was still scratching his neck while saying that.

I laughed softly. I should be the one to apologize to you because I'm hiding that I'm about to become a monster.

"W-that's not it. I understand you. " I said before smiling at him sweetly.

I noticed that his two eyebrows were raised and his mouth was slightly open but before I could even ask him why, he immediately cleared his throat.

"All right. Just tell me if you need something. "

I nodded quickly, "Thank you."

When Kael left, I immediately went to the window and looked out from it. It looks like I'm out of the city because there are so many trees around here.

The place is also very quiet so it's scary.

I noticed that it looked like someone was walking towards it. I don't know who it is but I'm sure it's not Cindy because they're here at home.

My forehead furrowed even more when they stopped not far away. I can't see their faces because it's dark in that part.

Just as I was about to look for a flashlight, the gemstone in my pocket suddenly flashed, causing me to stop and be stunned for a moment.

D-don't tell me, the human-looking people on the outside... h-aren't really human.

I slowly looked at them again but my eyes widened when I saw one of them just near the window. His head was tilted and he was still smiling.

I feel like a statue and can't move.

My heart was beating faster and faster as I stared at that monster. I even felt my side suddenly ache but I couldn't react because of what happened.

Shit. Just a little wrong move, I'm dead.

I shuddered as I watched the face of that monster change. Like Ate Mika, her body and face were also cracked.

Until it splits its head in two and sticks out long tongues. I feel like throwing up.

I was startled for a moment when I felt someone holding my hand. When I looked back at who it was, it was just Kael. It even prompted me to just shut up.

I immediately followed that and held his hand tightly even though it was shaking. How can I leave this position? If I step back, I may be rushed.

I noticed that there seemed to be some sort of red light focused on the monster. Is that a laser?

*Bang!*

It was as if I were deafened by the sheer force of the gunshots. At the same time, the disappearance of the monster caused Kael to pull me to sit down.

Meisha's POV

"Oh sha!"

"Meisha!"

I was immediately taken back to court when Kael touched both my shoulders.

"Let's go! We are dangerous here! " he said before pulling me away.

I even heard a series of gunshots which made me even more scared. But Kael kept pulling at me until we got to the kitchen.

Just as we were going there, Peter and Finn immediately followed with guns. It looks like the gunshot came from them earlier.

"Meisha, are you okay?" Cindy asked.

"Yeah, I'm just surprised." I answer right away.

Kloe immediately approached us and separated Kael and me. He quickly confronted his older brother.

"Brother, are you okay? You don't have any pain, do you? " worried about this question.

"Nothing." Answer it immediately.

Chloe suddenly turned to me with a frown, "You can see that the one outside is a monster, you haven't left yet. Are you stupid? "

A-what?

"Kloe!" Seia quickly rebuked him and grabbed his arm.

"You have stopped. It's not good that you're still fighting in the middle of what's happening. " Kael replied. "Peter, get our car ready. You, Finn, help the women to the car. "

"How are you?" Cindy asked worriedly.

Kael immediately touched his head before ruffling his hair, "Don't worry about me, I'll follow too." He said more before leaving.

To my surprise, Seia took my hand and pulled me to go to the car. Looks like they made it this way in case something like this happens.

"Get on board. I will just help Ka- "

"Not allowed. Stay here. Peter needs you here. " Seia answered him immediately while holding his hand.

Finn did nothing and just waited outside. We were all silent and only our breath could be heard. Next, the gunfire was still being fired inside the house, which is why it means that Kael is still alive.

"Ugh!" I moaned softly when I felt my lungs heat up.

It is also one of the symptoms when you become a monster.

"Si Kael!" Cindy suddenly came to life when she saw Kael coming out of the house but I was surprised when she suddenly lit a match and threw it inside the house causing the house to explode.

I covered my ears and bowed when I heard the explosion. There are more things spewed out here and there because of this.

"Let's go!" Kael said as he approached us and got in the car.

Peter immediately started the car and drove fast. I even watched the house explode. They have lost their home.

I frowned when I noticed that someone was walking out of that house. I don't know but I was horrified when I saw it staring at me and smiling.

I immediately took my eyes off there and held it in my hand. Why do I feel like that monster knows me?

Meisha's POV

I don't know but it seems like I suddenly felt worse after I stared at that monster. But maybe it's just normal because everyone is terrified when someone smiles at you like a monster, right?

"Meisha, why don't you go to sleep first?" I quickly looked at Seia when she asked me that. "I'm worried because you haven't been able to recover yet. Something happened again." He added.

I want to say that I'm okay to make her feel better. But as I look now, I may not be able to hide it right away.

I forced a smile, "Ahm .. I'm not sleepy. Then you don't have to worry. "

He just looked at me seriously before stroking my forehead. His mouth was still a little pity before he took out a handkerchief from his pocket.

"I knew it. Just based on your face, it's obvious that you're still hot. "He said before handing me the handkerchief. "This is all I have because of the sudden event. But when you start sweating, just wipe it off. "

Why does it make sense? I'm even more g'guilty because I don't tell them what my situation really is now.

"Thank you." I said before wiping my face.

We've been traveling for a few hours so some of us have fallen asleep. As for me, my eyes are still wide open. I can't sleep because I feel like I'm going to have a bad dream again.

I sighed and leaned my head against the car window. We turned off the light to make sure the monster couldn't reach us. Peter also drove slowly to make sure we were safe.

As I looked outside, everything that had happened suddenly entered my mind. How monsters attack us and how they eat people.

I hugged myself in horror. When I worry about what those animals did, it's like my stomach will spin again and I'll vomit.

But I can't just be like this. What if one day someone attacks me without them? It was just a miracle that bothered me before.

I sighed when my side suddenly ached. I quickly grabbed it and pressed the hand.

"Shit." I shuddered before clinging to the chair.

As time goes on it gets more and more painful. If it lasts longer I may not be able to hold back. I was so bitten on the lower lip when I felt like I was about to burst into tears.

It hurts!

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I also leaned my body in the backseat and forced myself to calm down.

I didn't know how many hours I was doing this until I realized that our car had stopped. Slowly I opened my eyes and there I saw Peter who seemed to be in trouble.

"Why did we stop?" Finn asked.

"We ran out of gas. We haven't put anything extra in the back yet. Annoying!" Peter growled before punching the steering wheel.

Their voices seemed to e'echo for me. I don't know but my breathing seems to be getting heavier. I also feel like my body is heating up.

"Then we really have no choice .. you are already awake those who are asleep. We will walk. " Kael said and got out of the car first.

I hear that one by one the others complained just because waking them up was a reason to irritate me. Too much noise! They just repeat what they say!

"Ugh!" I moaned softly before covering my ears. I feel like I'm deaf!

"Meisha? Aren't you coming out yet? " I quickly stopped moaning when I heard Finn's voice.

I didn't just look at it, "I-I'm going out." I stuttered.

My hand was still shaking as I slowly opened the door. When I got out of the car I was surprised when someone suddenly covered my mouth and nose.

"Don't breathe the air. There may still be chemical gas here. " Kael said reason for me to nod immediately.

There was something else it said but I couldn't understand it because of the echoes I was hearing. Deafening!

"I will remove my hand. Make sure you cover your mouth and nose right away. " He added because it would make me even more irritated.

I don't know but my head hurts even more when I hear someone talking.

I just felt Kael slowly remove his hand causing me to immediately cover my mouth. I even noticed that he was looking at me so I immediately turned away from him and faced the car.

But I felt like I was drenched in cold water when I saw myself at the window. Y-my eyes ..

I seemed even more confused when I saw that my eyes were gradually reddening. W-what's wrong with me? Why is it like this? h-hindi pwede to.

When they see me like this they might think I'm just pretending to be human. I have to make a way. My eyes can't be like this anymore.

"Meisha, what are you staring at- *Crash! *" I heard Cindy sigh when she saw me banging my head on the glass causing it to break.

The weakness of my thumping but it broke right away? Could this be one of the side effects when you gradually become a monster?

I felt a liquid help on my face causing me to touch it. But I didn't seem surprised at all when I saw my blood.

It's like I'm used to it.
