Chapter 8 Merchandise

"It's a honor to meet you all," Christie said as she forced herself to smile.

Alice and Juliet nodded at her but Rex remained unmoving.

"Christie? Wait for me by the car," Alexa ordered.

"Okay, sir," she replied and walked away.

She finally met the whole family, yeah except for one. The other twin, Eric Vistlon.

Alexa and his father went to the study room to discuss why Rex had called his son over.

"Here," Rex offered him a glass of whiskey with ice in it, Alexa took it.

"So..." Rex trails off as he drew on his thick cigar stick. He puffs it out and continued;

"How are things coming with the new shipments?"

"They're due to arrive this week. The buyers are more than ready," Logan replied.

"Okay. What about the authorities?" Rex asked.

"All good. The police, the special force, the marine and even the NSA, our moles there always update us with the latest info. You have nothing to worry about, the operation will be successful," Alexa answered.

"I hope so. Those merchandise are worth millions," Rex pointed out.

"You talk as if this is our first time doing this," Alexa remarked a little irritated. He sipped from his whiskey.

His family was truly part of the mafia. Not just that but they were real deep in it, they go way back and has successfully climbed their way to the top.

They were the leader of all the mafia families and groups in the country, Nashville. They were powerful and every syndicate in the country feared and obeyed them and no one has been able to take away the seal of authority from them.

The mafias that tried to over the years, has paid dearly with their lives.

"What about Eric?" Rex asked.

"Eric is Eric. He's just there. He and Benito's men will be in charge of the operation," Alexa replied.

"Good, good. Always carry him along, you know he can be very reckless, irresponsible and rebellious at times. That's why I chose you as my heir not just because you're the eldest," Rex confessed.

"It's been a long time since we've been together as a family. We should have dinner together sometimes, what do you think?" he added.

Alexa shrugged nonchalantly at the idea.

***

Christie got home late again. She made something to eat real quick before she went to her room where she spent a long time in the bathroom as she relaxes in the bath tub relieving herself of her stress in the hot bubble bath.

She finally got out and washed off in the shower. She sighs as the cold water walked down her body from her head.

Her hands hit the walls as she grits her beautiful set of white teeth. Images of Rex Vistlon appeared in her head. That ominous look he had. She remembered the night her father was shot dead, then the image of her mom who died due to multiple stabbings in jail.

It was as if all she could see right now was blood. She screamed as she cried nonstop. She had promised herself that wailing days were over. But after seeing Rex Vistlon today, sitting right there looking sinister instead of remorseful, she doesn't know anymore.

The man who caused all these was free to roam about how he liked, just the thought killed her over and over. She wants him to pay, for all his crimes, for what he did to her, they will all pay. Everyone involved, she was yet to open a chapter for her paternal family.

She walked out of the bathroom and got dressed, she received a phone call once she was done dressing up. It was from Katie, she wasn't really at home when Christie has arrived.

"Hello," Christie picked up the call.

{Hello, uh. There's a woman at four square club, she's really drunk. I'm one of the bar attendants, she gave her phone to me telling me to call her friend to come pick her up as she can't drive and so I decided to call the last number on her phone}

Christie sighed in frustration.

Is there anything this brat knows how to do other than clubbing and being a total spendthrift?!

"Yeah I'm her friend. I'll be right there, please watch over her for me till I get there," Christie responded and hanged up.

She rushed out. She took a taxi instead of her car since Katie was already there with her car. She got there and walked into the club.

It was buzzing with music and crazy people dancing their hearts out. The place reek of alcohol and sweat. Christie walked towards the VIP section where she knows Katie must be at, as Katie prefers VIP sections.

She was able to enter the VIP section, it was much better than the entrance. Her eyes skimmed through the place in search of Katie. She couldn't find her, so she walked to the bar counter.

"Uhm, excuse me," she beckoned on one of the attendants.

"Yes beautiful. What would you like me to offer you?" he asked.

"Nothing. I'm looking for my friend who's drunk, I was called up to come pick her up," Christie explained.

"Oh, you're the lady I called," he said.

"Yes. Where's my friend?" she asked.

"She left not too long ago, you might still catch up with her at the parking lot beneath," he replied.

"She left? She's drunk, I told you to watch over her," Christie chastised him.

"I was, but she insisted on going with some men-"

"Some men?!" Christie cuts him off and she ran off towards the underground driveway.

"I tried to stop her," the attendant yelled after her as she exited.

Christie took the elevator to the last floor beneath which was the driveway.

"Ding," the elevator sounded as it opens.

She was just in time. "Hey!" she yelled at some men who were about to alight a SUV with a drunken Katie. They stopped and turned towards her.

"Yay Christie," Katie beamed when she saw her.

"Let's go," Christie said as she yanks her away from the men.

"Hey, who the hell do you think you are to take our boss' catch?" one of the men challenged.

"Go catch something else, you asshole," Christie responded.

"Maybe we'll catch you instead," another one replied and tried to grab her but she held his hand and twisted it to his back pinning him on the car and she didn't let go until she heard his bones break.

She moved away from them with Katie. They never expected such strength and skill from such a dainty girl as the men were quite hefty.

"Step away, Katie," Christie instructed, ready to fight as she was already smelling danger.

"Okay. Be careful," Katie responded stepping away slowly.

The men were about to attack her; "Enough,"

A deep and commanding voice was heard from the SUV. The door opened fully and a tall figure alighted from the car.

It took everything in her for her eyes not to widen like saucers in surprise, she never expected this.

The man who came out of the car was no other than Eric Vistlon.
