Chapter 6 It's Killian

Nyla's POV:

I instinctively opened my arms to hug the little boy. It felt so good to hold my son in my arms. Then I lowered my head and looked at his cute face. I would never get tired of staring at this angel of mine.

After hugging him for a while, I asked, "Gary... What are you doing here?"

I want to see you because I miss you so much.

Every word he said pierced my heart like a sharp knife. It was painful.

I gave birth to Gary about five years ago after I was saved by Gracie. For me, he was heaven-sent. He was a gift from the Moon Goddess.

But he had been weak and sickly since he was born. He didn't even have a smell. I didn't know if it was because I didn't have a wolf or because I was not marked by my mate.

The Crescent Club was a mixed bag, and I was usually busy with my work. I couldn't give all my time to him. But I was really worried about his health, so I chose to let him stay in the hospital.

For health reasons, the hospital had been his home for the past five years.

So, I didn't expect to see him here tonight. Did he sneak out of the hospital?

I looked him straight in the eye and asked, "Gary, who brought you here?"

Of course, I was very happy to see him. But I couldn't help feeling worried. What if something happened to him? There were no doctors in the club.

Nyla, don't be angry. I took the liberty to bring him here. Gary misses you so much, and he really wants to see you. I can't stand seeing him so sad. It was Jeffrey Natt, Gracie's son, who answered my question. He walked over to us, smiling awkwardly.

I felt a little helpless. "Jeffrey, I'm not angry. I'm just worried. I'm afraid Gary will get sick."

Jeffrey was with Gracie when they saved me five years ago. He also saw Gary grow, and I knew he cared so much about Gary too. In fact, after I gave birth to Gary, he had been taking care of Gary for me in the hospital all these years. He spent more time with Gary than I did. And this was what made me feel guilty.

So I said to him, "Jeffrey, thank you for taking care of Gary for me."

It's okay. It's not a big deal at all. Jeffrey waved his hand and looked at Gary with undisguised love in his eyes. "Gary is very cute, and he is an obedient child. Taking care of him is not troublesome. I like him very much."

Gary hugged my thigh, raised his little face, and said like a spoiled child, "Mommy, is your performance over? Can you stay with me?"

Seeing him like this made me feel sad. Indeed, he really longed for a mother's love and company.

Since Gary was weak and sick, he had to stay in the hospital. And I had to work to earn more money to support him. So, I rarely stayed with him these years.

He was always in my heart and in my mind. But I had been performing a lot these days, so I hadn't seen him in the hospital for a long time.

Upon realizing all this, could I still be angry at him? All I wanted now was to enjoy our time together. I held Gary's small body in my arms and sincerely apologized to him.

Gary, I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I have been so busy these days that I haven't come to see you for a long time.

Gary had always been a sensible, obedient, and well-behaved child. He snuggled in my arms, leaned on my chest, and rubbed his fluffy head against my palm. Then he said thoughtfully, "It's okay, Mommy. I know that you are very busy. I don't blame you."

I touched his face and sighed emotionally. I missed him so much that I couldn't help hugging him even tighter.

Upon seeing this scene, Jeffrey understood and didn't say anything more. He just turned around and quietly left the room to give us a private moment together.

Now that only Gary and I were left in the lounge, we chatted happily. But after a short while, there was a knock on the door.

I wondered who it could be.

I put Gary down on the couch and walked to the door to open it.

Suddenly, a familiar scent drifted in the air and filled my nostrils.

The next instant, my body suddenly froze. An indescribable feeling surged in my heart.

The feeling reminded me of that night from five years ago.

It was the reaction caused by the mate bond.

For five years, I had never felt this way again. Now, the old feeling seemed to have come back. I couldn't be mistaken.

The person outside the door was Killian. I was confident it was really him.

Everything that happened five years ago flashed vividly in my mind like a movie.

That night was full of pain and pleasure. It was my most unforgettable night. Because it was like a nightmare.

My body trembled involuntarily, and layers of cold sweat broke out on my forehead. My mind was in a mess.

Why was Killian here?

What did he want?

He should be staying in the Black Moon Pack as the Alpha, right?

Could it be that he was the big shot Bonnie told me?

It had been five years. I never intended to have anything to do with Killian again. I was already prepared to raise Gary alone. Why did he suddenly appear? He would only disrupt my plans.

What would he do this time?

Back then, he was not willing to recognize me as his mate. He even asked the Alpha to ruthlessly kick me and my mother out of the pack. Why did he come to me now?

I reflexively turned around and looked at Gary. My heartbeat went abnormally fast. For some reason, I felt scared.

Damn! Killian came at the wrong time.

Gary was still here.

I couldn't let them meet. Killian would never know Gary's existence.

If that devil saw and recognized Gary, he would definitely take Gary away from me. Or even worse, he might want to kill Gary.

The knock on the door continued, and it became even more urgent. It seemed he wouldn't stop unless I opened the door.
