It had been a week since John's death which had left the employees and everyone else in shock. Alexander had returned three days ago and completed his contract with Felix. Now at home, his father-in-law and Libason's family were also bombarding him with questions that could be said to be cornering him.

"But, how did you not know about the incident even when you were doing the same job." Victoria reiterated her inquiry that Alexander had already answered for the umpteenth time.

Everyone was also paying attention to Alexander which made the man even more cornered with the questions they were asking.

"We traveled separately and I was left behind. Mr. John and the others left for their destination first because I still had a previous job. How would I know if Mr. John had an accident ahead of me? We even used different roads."

Kimbeerly stroked her husband's arm gently to calm Alexander who continued to be bombarded with questions by both his parents and cousins. "Mother... never mind. Alexander doesn't know what happened and I believe he didn't want this to happen even when Mr. John was his coworker. Besides, it's all in the past and the police found an empty bottle on the dashboard of Mr. John's car. It's possible that he was drunk when he drove the car and there was an accident."

Jeremy looked at Alexander and found nothing strange about his son-in-law. Alexander was a smart man, but there was no way he would lie about this, right? Even when everyone was paying their condolences at John's house, Alexander chose to continue with the company contract and return only afterward. Jeremy was curious about Alexander choosing to continue his contract and ignoring the coworkers he worked with, but he couldn't do much about it for now.

"Then what about the contract you signed with Felix?"

Alexander turned his gaze towards Edward who was not far from Kimbeerly's sitting position. He revealed a smile with a confident nod. "I managed to get it after several appeals. This client was quite difficult to deal with until I came back."

Edward nodded in understanding because he also knew how to deal with clients who continued to not believe in the ability of the collaborator. Edward looked at Jeremy who seemed to be thinking. His brother was suspicious of his son-in-law, and Alexander seemed undaunted by his current position. Edward admitted that Alexander was a man who was always relaxed in the face of things.

"And Eroik returned alone to take care of Mr. John's problem," Alexander continued which made them all turn to the man.

Alexander revealed a faint smile after seeing the unexpected looks on everyone's faces, including Kimbeerly beside him. They all couldn't believe Alexander's leadership skills.

"I can't be selfish and not think about Mr. John who had an accident when I had just arrived at my destination. Since this contract was also very important and had made everyone work hard beforehand, I couldn't neglect it either by only thinking about the matter of Mr. John's sudden death. So the three of us decided to divide the tasks. Felix was with me to continue the contract and Eroik chose to go back to take care of all the problems."

Jeremy smiled at Alexander's words. The man had been talking about the contract and Felix without including Eroik, so Jeremy thought that Alexander didn't care about either of them. But now Jeremy could once again trust Alexander that his son-in-law was indeed reliable. Alexander with every word and action was able to make people understand his thoughts.

"You should have told us from the beginning so that we wouldn't be suspicious of you."

Alexander looked at Jeremy who was also looking at him. He revealed a faint smile. "So are you suspicious of me for work or for ignoring the news of Mr. John's death?"

Everyone was silent, including Jeremy who had spoken earlier. Alexander did not seem at all afraid or even worried. Edward saw for himself how the man expressed such composed words to cut off the interlocutor. Very clever.

"They don't know, Al. Please forgive."

Alexander smiled inwardly at Kimbeerly for trying to cover up her family's mistakes. He revealed a faint smile and nodded afterward. "It's okay. I'm also guilty of not explaining beforehand. It's just a misunderstanding. I apologize for making everyone worried."

The ringing of the phone made everyone turn their heads to the source of the sound. It was Alexander's cell phone in his pocket. "I'm sorry I had to answer the phone," he excused himself and everyone immediately agreed with an embarrassed look on their faces as they were caught suspicious of Alexander.

Alexander moved away afterward. His eagle eyes were sharp as his brain went back to planning something else. A lopsided smile spread across his body as he moved further and further away from the presence of all the Libasons. How annoying they were.

Meanwhile, Jeremy and Edward looked at each other with gestures. They left followed by Victoria who was also going back home. Kimbeerly saw them off at the porch and then went back into the house after watching her family enter the car.

"What do you need? Say it."

Kimbeerly, who had just entered the room, faintly heard Alexander's voice on the phone with someone. The man was on the balcony of the room with his body facing the front of the house. Kimbeerly approached and looked down just as Alexander turned to her.

Alexander disconnected his phone and smiled to greet Kimbeerly. "Since when have you been there?"

Alexander shook his head. "Only a friend invited me to go but I declined because I was tired after yesterday's trip."

Kimbeerly nodded in understanding. She took both of Alexander's hands in hers. "Al... about our conversation earlier, I hope you didn't take offense to what my family said. They won't understand if we don't explain in detail."

Alexander smiled and wrapped his arms around Kimbeerly. "It's okay. I should also be careful with what I decide so as not to make others suspicious and worried about me."

Kimbeerly looked at Alexander. "I will always believe in you no matter what circumstances you face."

Alexander nodded and returned to holding Kimbeerly tightly. The eagle eyes gazed at the deserted streets with his mind playing. The libason family... Alexander had to be more careful with what he was going to do next. He didn't want to make all his plans go to waste because of a carelessness that he didn't pay attention to when implementing the plan.

"You're the best, Kimbeerly."

Kimbeerly smiled in response to Alexander's tired expression. She pulled away and looked at Alexander closely. "Whatever happens I will always be by my husband's side. We will go through thick and thin together until the end of our lives. I hope we don't have any problems until then."

Alexander smiled and hugged Kimbeerly back. Such good wishes, he thought.
