Chapter 6 VI

Lucid tied up the arrows together using the rope the ball had transformed into, he tied it up in a way that it formed a V-shape thus allowing him to sit inside the arrow safely while also controlling the arrow.

"Are you going too?" Lucid asked, looking at the tiger-like creature as he climbed onto the arrow.

The creature looked at him and growled then slowly walked towards him. This action greatly shocked Lucid as this meant that the creature could understand him or that it finally made up its mind to eat him but either way, the creature was walking towards him.

To Lucid's surprise the creature just sat behind him quietly, though the creature still gave off a dangerous vibe. Lucid didn't pay it much mind because it was simply the creature's way of saying 'While i'm following you doesn't mean i trust you'

"Hey are you ready" Lucid asked as he grasped the rope

[Yes] The ball replied

Hearing the ball's reply, Lucid dragged the rope to the left making the ball in turn force the arrow to turn left. Immediately this happened, a happy smile appeared on their faces as this meant that they truly could climb the temple in time but they weren't ready for the true speed of the arrow as the arrow immediately jerked forward and rushed away with immense speed that nearly threw Lucid and the creature off its back.

"Shit!!" Lucid then immediately grasped the rope as though he was holding onto the reins of a horse and pulled it up and right as the ball in turn used its flight ability to slightly push the arrow up which in turn immediately rose into the sky due to its immense speed.

Seeing their plan working, Lucid and the ball immediately became even more focused as they tried their best to find the best way to navigate the arrow.

Some minutes passed and they finally had a good handle of the arrow so they immediately acted on their real plan as they rushed up the stairs with Lucid giving the directions and the ball acting as the arrows rudder.

With this mixture, they quickly ascended the stairs as they aligned the arrow in a diagonal position where it would be able to quickly ascend the stairs without much intervention from them. Meanwhile the creature just laid behind Lucid, acting like a regular house cat.

Hours passed but Lucid hadn't seen the end of the stairs, this was already enough to squash the little hope that had ignited in his heart especially when considering that it took them nearly thirty(30) minutes just to cover the distance between each step which simply meant that they might spend months just ascending the stairs alone but there was nothing they could do after all, they have done all they could since they can't change the arrow's speed.

As the arrow sped to the top of the temple, more and more creatures appeared at the bottom of the temple, Lucid wasn't able to see them well but he could tell that nearly all of them were extraordinary in their own way. Some of them used tech beyond his current understanding, some were huge and many more but well they weren't as outlandish as the tiger like being. Lucid couldn't judge properly after all he didn't have a proper view of most of them.

Several hours later, they could finally see the top of the stairs so Lucid and the ball got serious as they started trying ways to slow down the arrow enough for them to land safely but no matter what they tried, the arrow just continued to charge up the stairs so Lucid and the ball could only do what they had being always being doing.

Immediately the arrow passed the last flight of stairs, Lucid immediately jumped on the tip of the arrow to change its direction and by doing this, the arrow immediately changed its position from its diagonal position to a horizontal position and as they expected, The arrow came to a complete halt as it was about to reach into the temple.

Witnessing the arrow stop, The ball immediately transformed back into its original form and Lucid jumped down from the arrow along with the tiger-like creature. By doing so, the two arrows returned to their original form from its V shape.

After that the two arrows immediately dissipated. To the two, this could either mean that they have finally arrived at their true destination or that the Gods felt as though they were cheating with the arrows but to them it didn't matter which it was, they just didn't feel comfortable.

[Welcome to the Temple of Gods, You three chosen have made it to the top, you are hereby welcome to the God council's meeting, you all have been chosen for a reason. Choose your patron God and He/She/It would explain your situation to you] The voice said again and immediately a holographic screen appeared before Lucid.

Seeing the screen, Lucid wasn't all that surprised since compared to all the things he had seen today, the holographic screen was normal. Looking at the holographic screen which was no different from a slightly big phone, Lucid could see a list of names.

It wasn't difficult to guess that these names were the names of the Gods to be selected but to Lucid's surprise, he couldn't recognise most of the names but then this didn't cause that much of a shock to him as he already expected it.

Some Gods are born from popular ideas thus you can say that new Gods are born everyday but what truly surprised Lucid was the method of selection which was no different from the method of choosing and online manga or comic.

He could see the recommended Gods based on his personality, the New generation Gods and the Old ones, not only that he could even get a description of every God he tapped on and was free to choose any of them he liked.
