Chapter 6 Sign it Soon

"There you are," Jhon greeted Ameera and Lucy. "Good!"

Jhon flashed a smile in front of his two juniors. Unfortunately, it was only Lucy who smiled back, while Ameera chose to look away rather than return the fake smile that Jhon flashed in front of her.

Jhon's gaze was then fixed on Ameera. Lucy had noticed that their behaviour looked very suspicious.

"Ehem!" Lucy cleared her throat, breaking Jhon's reverie and Ameera turned to her.

"Sorry, Doctor. Are we late?" asked Lucy cautiously.

"No, no. You're just in time," replied Jhon rather nonchalantly. His gaze was still fixed on Ameera alone. So, he didn't really pay attention to Lucy's words.

"Ameera, what's wrong with you?" asked Jhon with concern. "You look really tired. Did you sleep well?"

Why was that damn senior even asking about Ameera's condition? Obviously, it would only further emphasise their relationship. Lucy would become even more suspicious of them.

'What a strange person! He likes to cause trouble,' Ameera snapped to herself. She grinned at Jhon and Lucy.

"Ameera!" exclaimed Jhon. Ameera didn't respond to his call.

"Ah, yes. I slept very well, Doctor Jhon," said Ameera.

Ameera was forced to lie. Instead of getting a good night's sleep, she couldn't even sleep. Lucy had just taken her out of the house for a short time. Unfortunately, now she was stranded in a seminar venue and had to listen to a very boring professor.

'Oh my, how I wish this complaint could be properly channelled,' Ameera said to herself.

On the other hand, Lucy was a little disappointed with Jhon's attitude. Because the senior seemed to pay more attention to Ameera.

'Damn it! He's nagging me again. That sucks!' Lucy grumbled to herself. She was holding back her disappointment now.

"Are you not feeling well?" asked Jhon again. He was looking very prominent right now. These small gestures of concern would boomerang on him and Ameera.

"Ah, I'm fine," Ameera denied. "Sorry, I need to go to the toilet first," she reasoned.

Lucy continued to watch Ameera and Jhon's movements. Both people looked very suspicious to Lucy. They seem to have something to hide, she thought again.

Jhon told Lucy to go into the room immediately. Meanwhile, he would catch up with Ameera in the toilet. He had some unfinished business with Ameera.

Ameera hurriedly went to the toilet. He walked quickly while waving his hands towards his face. The atmosphere around the hotel was cool because there was plenty of air-conditioning. But why did the air seem so hot all over her body after talking to Jhon?

"Oh my! Why did I have to meet him here again? I clearly rejected him earlier and now I'm meeting him again. How stupid!" Ameera blamed herself. While banging her head on the toilet door.

"Auuwww!" Ameera groaned in pain. She looked at her forehead that was sucked by the door in front of the mirror. Whoops! What happened? So blue after all. She regretted it now.

Ameera took a compact powder from her sling bag. She also pressed the sponge to patch up the blue patches with her thick powder. Oh my! It really looks like putty. She added more powder.

When she was done, Ameera came out of the toilet. Suddenly, a hand grabbed him. Then, it took her away.

"Hey, wait! Where are we going?" Ameera struggled a little. Looking up, she saw that it was Jhon who had taken her away.

Arriving at a room near the hotel, Jhon and Ameera had a one-on-one talk there. "So, this is why you refuse to go with me? That's funny," Jhon sneered.

Jhon leaned Ameera's body against the wall and managed to support her. Until Ameera was helpless in front of him.

"Yes, Doc. I did have plans to go out with her. Why do you suddenly want to know all my activities? You said it yourself. We have nothing to do with each other," Ameera insisted.

"Ah, that... yes. We really don't have any relationship." Jhon confirmed it. However, this time Ameera seemed to have caught his attention.

"I was going to take you to lunch. Why don't you accompany me to lunch now?" Jhon suggested.

"WHAT?" Ameera widened her eyes. Seriously. So, what about Lucy who was still in the room?

"Follow me!" Jhon ordered.

Jhon really doesn't care. Right now, he only wanted Ameera's company. The man took Ameera forcefully away from the ballroom to the hotel restaurant. It was located on the ground floor of the hotel.

Jhon and Ameera left in a hurry. Someone who accidentally saw their intimacy turned very annoyed at that moment. Then, the mysterious person hurriedly left.

Meanwhile, Jhon and Ameera were already seated at a table in the VIP class restaurant. A room specially booked by Jhon to enjoy his lunch with Ameera.

Before lunch, Jhon handed something to Ameera. An expensive iPad. Inside was a document file that Ameera needed to digitally sign immediately.

"What's this?" Ameera asked curiously.

"A co-operation agreement," replied Jhon.

"A cooperation agreement? For what?" repeated Ameera. She still didn't understand what Jhon meant.

"It's a secret agreement between the two of us. I don't want anything bad to happen to my career at the hospital. Understood?" explained Jhon.

"Then, what about me? Aren't you going to protect me at the hospital in case something bad happens to my career too?" Ameera appealed. She needed reassurance from Jhon first. Before she read and signed the contents of the secret agreement.

"Nothing will happen to you, Ameera. You just relax. This co-operation agreement is just for precautionary purposes," explained Jhon. He said it in a very calm tone.

That's because Jhon is a man. Not a woman like Ameera who has a uterus. If his actions resulted in his junior getting pregnant out of wedlock who knows what would happen to the two young doctors. It could be that one of them had to experience bad things in the hospital.

"You'd better start taking your abortifacient from now on. Just in case," Jhon suggested.

"What?" Ameera was very disappointed with her senior's suggestion. 'An abortifacient?'

"You know the side effects, right? If I take that medicine, there's a good chance I won't have children for the rest of my life," Ameera replied. She was torn between agreeing and disagreeing. Honestly, she was at a loss to deal with him at the moment.

"Then, you'll let it grow?"

"Why are you suddenly worried about that? Are you afraid of ruining your career at the hospital?" Ameera sneered.

"Not for that reason. I just want to maintain my reputation at the Hospital. Besides, I'm currently applying for an overseas scholarship. So, they'll consider my scholarship if I don't have an illicit love scandal with you or anyone else at the Hospital," explained Jhon at length.

Ameera was silent listening to Jhon's explanation. She knew about it too. Oh my! She regretted what happened last night. Why did she have to get into trouble with Jhon?

"You'll sign it, right?" Jhon confirmed.

Ameera needed time to read and understand the contents of the secret agreement. She didn't want to be rash when signing it. Moreover, to his detriment in the future. Yet again, Jhon urged her. He urged Ameera to sign the secret agreement immediately.

"Just sign it quickly! What are you waiting for, Ameera?" urged Jhon.

"Patience! I'm still reading it slowly," Ameera replied.

"You have nothing to worry about, Ameera. Trust me!" persuaded Jhon.

Ameera turned to Jhon. It seemed that the man looked convincing. So Ameera signed the secret agreement without reading the entire contents.

"Done." Ameera signed and handed it to Jhon.

"Good job!" praised Jhon. He smiled rather sarcastically in front of Ameera. The sly smile that spread across the man's lips was exactly what Ameera didn't want to know.

What was the big plan behind the secret agreement? Why was Jhon so enthusiastic after knowing Ameera had taken care of her problem.

'He doesn't intend to deceive me, does he?' Ameera felt bad for him.
