Chapter 5 Come to The Hotel

Meanwhile, Ameera was still looking at herself in the mirror. She felt so guilty this morning for sleeping with Jhon last night. Without Lucy's knowledge. If Lucy finds out, she's finished.

That afternoon, Ameera was all dressed up and about to meet Lucy at the promised place. However, as she was leaving the rental house, someone honked a car horn right behind her. Suddenly, she was surprised to see Jhon, who was sitting in the driving seat, calling her name. He asked her to get into his car immediately.

"Oh my God! What else is he doing?" muttered Ameera. She was forced to walk towards him, opening his car door. Then, she sat down next to him.

"What's wrong?" asked Ameera. She was still upset with Jhon's behaviour this morning.

"Are you still angry?" Jhon confirmed it again. He saw the look on Ameera's face as she refused to look at him.

"Obviously I'm angry! Where in the world would a woman voluntarily give up all her precious possessions for a man she doesn't love," Ameera fumed.

"So, you hate me now? You're not afraid? I am, after all, your senior," Jhon teased. He was trying to get Ameera back in the mood.

"Your threats won't work for me anymore. You'd better save all your wooing for another woman. I'm not the kind of woman who just sleeps with a man." Ameera made it clear to Jhon. However, the man only smiled briefly in response to Ameera.

"Fine! If that's what you want. Don't blame me, if something happens to you, and then I'm annoying you at the time." Jhon abdicated his responsibility. It's been fixed, but it's not, he thought as he looked at Ameera's face, who was still holding back her annoyance at him.

Ameera turned her head. "If something terrible happens in my life, you should definitely take responsibility. I don't care if you're my senior or my boss. I will only fight for justice. Understood?" she emphasised.

Jhon smiles again at his junior's burning passion like a freedom fighter today. He also harboured admiration for Ameera. The woman was full of ambition. Her spirit gave Jhon two thumbs up.

Jhon quickly accelerated his vehicle and left the rented house Ameera was staying in. Wait a minute! Ameera was startled. Where was Jhon taking her? Right now, Ameera had an appointment with Lucy.

"Where are we going?" asked Ameera rather anxiously. She looked around.

"To the hotel," said Jhon.

"Wh-what? To the hotel? What are we doing there?" Ameera jumped in shock after realising that Jhon was taking her to a hotel.

"Why are you so surprised? Just relax and be casual about it. You're overreacting." Jhon had a flat expression as he turned to Ameera.

"Sorry, I don't want to come with you to the hotel. Find another woman! There are many open BO (booking order) on the app," Ameera firmly refused.

Jhon furrowed his brow. Apparently Ameera had the wrong perception. She didn't know what Jhon meant by taking her to the hotel. The man wanted to laugh. It was terrible what Ameera was thinking at the moment. Did she eat the wrong food? Or is her brain fried from last night? Jhon thought.

"What are you talking about? Do you really think I want to invite you there? Your brain is really fried, Ameera," Jhon sneered.

"So what if it's not for that ...." Ameera became clumsy and misbehaved. She was so nervous in front of Jhon.

"I brought you to the hotel to accompany me to another event there. Not to ask you to sleep or have sex there. What a dirty mind you have!" explained Jhon.

"What other event?" repeated Ameera. She needed to know what Jhon was bringing her to.

"A medical seminar," explained Jhon.

'Oh, I see.'

Now, Ameera knew what Jhon meant by taking her to the hotel. But, right! She already had another appointment with Lucy. She only realised it now.

Stop! Stop! Stop! Ameera stopped Jhon as soon as she could. At that moment, Jhon was startled and pulled his vehicle over to the side of the road.

"Shit! Why did you make me stop in the middle of the road? If I don't brake suddenly, I'll get ...." Jhon fumed. His sentence stopped for a moment. Ameera immediately interrupted him.

"I have another appointment. So, I can't accompany you there. I'm sorry," Ameera regretted. She hurried to get out of Jhon's car. However, the man wouldn't let her.

"Wait! Where are you going?" interrupted Jhon. While holding Ameera's hand tightly. "Who told you to go?"

"I have a lunch appointment with a friend," Ameera informed.

"Your friend? Which one?" Jhon was suspicious. His eyes narrowed and he cornered Ameera. "Is your friend a guy?" he asked again.

"No, it's not. I'm sorry once again. I don't have much time left. It's late," Ameera got out of the car. Then, he got on a city bus.

Ameera left Jhon for dead. The man smiled sarcastically in response. He was being ignored by his junior.

"Damn it!" grumbled Jhon as he smacked the steering wheel in exasperation.

'Watch out, Ameera!" he threatened silently. Suddenly, he thought of an idea to play a prank on him. A sly smile spread across the corners of his lips.

When Ameera arrived at the café where she had her appointment with Lucy, she was surprised to see her friend rushing out of the café. It was bad!

"Ameera, thank goodness you're here! We have to go," Lucy told her.

"What's wrong?" Ameera panicked. She grabbed Lucy's hand and soon an online taxi approached them in front of the café.

Lucy hadn't explained anything to Ameera. She was so busy on the phone. To the point where she forgot about Ameera beside her. Is Ameera the only one who doesn't know anything right now?

After Lucy called, Ameera asked her best friend. What happened and where were they going? Those were the two questions that had been nagging at Ameera's mind. Ever since they left the café without having lunch together as promised.

"Where are we actually going?" asked Ameera. Lucy turned her head.

"Didn't you know? Right now we have to attend a seminar at the hotel," Lucy informed.

"Oh yeah? Should we go there too? Isn't it our day off?" Ameera thought. Why is her destination now the same as Jhon's?

"Doctor Jhon ordered us, who have today off, to go there. He said it's very important for prospective specialists like us," Lucy explained.

Ameera couldn't help but think. Why did her holiday have to be filled with a seminar? Ameera and Lucy had wanted to go for a walk, have a meal, and hang out at the mall. Now, all their plans have failed. Just a discourse. It's a total failure. The delicious food that they had imagined was gone.

"He's doing it on purpose," Ameera muttered. Lucy had been watching her.

"What do you mean deliberately?" Lucy didn't understand.

Ameera shook her head. She quickly denied it. She didn't want Lucy to know that Ameera had previously met with Jhon and asked her to accompany him to a medical seminar.

Unlike Ameera, Lucy is suspicious of her best friend. Since when did Ameera behave like that in front of her own best friend? There are many things that Ameera has been hiding from Lucy lately. Lucy has become prejudiced against Ameera.

A few minutes later, Ameera and Lucy arrived at the hotel. The two entered a hotel ballroom to attend a medical seminar.

'Oh my! Why did we have to go to that place anyway?'

Ameera felt like hiding her face in that elite room. She was so embarrassed to meet Jhon.

"That's Doctor Jhon!" pointed out Lucy. Ameera immediately turned her face away.

"Oh my! What's he doing here?" Ameera became awkward when Jhon approached them.
