Chapter 5 Getting Rich Is the Only Way to Relieve Worries

Seeing Emma, Bob was surprised. But after a blink, shyness, resentment, depression, and disgust all began to appear on his face randomly.

"Ah, how did you fall?"

Emma didn't think so much. She put down the plates instantly and ran to Bob, planning to help him up.

But Bob was very resistant to such help. She approached him again and again, and he pushed her away every time.

Emma was boiling with rage, so she confronted him directly, "Hey! I have to help you up today!"

Two people, two stubborn species, pulled together.

Gradually, Bob seemed to give up, and he stopped resisting. Emma had no idea what kind of complicated psychological activities this person had in such a short period of time. He was now lying on the ground like mud, allowing others to do whatever they wanted to him.

She took a deep breath and laughed at him, "Hey, you! Why did you have to resist me? Will you be proud of yourself if you win, or will you feel embarrassed if you lose?"

Bob looked at her, his angry clear eyes revealing both bitterness and helplessness.

Emma finally got the chance to take a closer look at his appearance. He had thick eyebrows with slender eyes, thin lips and the sharp nose, which were pretty good-looking, but a man like this was always unreliable.

But... Emma felt that this face seemed a bit familiar.

She suddenly remembered that she had done a summer job in a five-star hotel under the introduction of her teacher. In her spare time, she seemed to have seen his face in a magazine. Her female classmate who worked with her even fell for his appearance at that time, saying that he was a well-known young talent in the business world with countless properties in his hands, and he was typically the kind who could make a living with his appearance but chose to prove himself with his strength.

That's right. It's him, Bob Turner.

At this time, Bob's complexion was bloodless and pale. His cheeks were so thin with clear sunken traces, and his throat stood high but trembled feebly. It was obvious that he was not only depressed, but also very weak.

Bob and Joy were somewhat similar. But compared with Joy, who was unruly, Bob's temperament was calmer. Such a person could easily make Emma think of a gentle scum.

"You," Emma pointed at him and said in a tone like a headteacher, "Stop getting cranky. I'll get you to bed, and you have to cooperate. You hear me?"

Bob didn't answer, so Emma assumed he had agreed.

She bowed, pulled one of his arms on her shoulders, and put the other hand his waist, "One, two, three, get up!"

Kneeling for the first time.

The two fell to the ground together.

Emma felt that the muscles on her legs were not enough to support the big man, but she was not discouraged and tried again, only the result was still the same.

"Come on again," she said, "you have to remember to work hard with me, alright? Don't just stand by like an outsider."

This time, Bob finally couldn't help but say, "Hey, please don't step on your skirt every time, okay?"

Emma lowered her head and found he was telling the truth. The corner of the skirt was stepped under her feet, so no matter how hard they tried, they would only fail

She smiled awkwardly, "Ha ha, don't care about the details."

Then she took a step back, "freed" the skirt, and tried again.

This time, they stood up at least. After they staggered to the bed, Emma took advantage of their inertia and threw Bob onto the bed. He trembled along with the mattress like a feeble salted fish.

Emma panted, raising her hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead.

Bob, however, glared at her unkindly, as if there were a lot of harsh words to say.

Did he get hurt just now? Or did she say anything harsh? Emma had no idea. But given her years of experience of being a dumb person, she knew one thing for sure that people with physical disabilities tended to have strong self-esteem.

Emma decided to reason with him, "Did I do this to you? Why are you acting as if you have deep hatred towards me? If you don't want to continue like this, you should actively cooperate to accept the treatment and get better as soon as possible."

Emma took off her shoes, stood on the bed, dragged Bob's body to let him lean on the pillow.

"Your family had a splendid dinner just now. They had braised pork, big lobster, and dishes whose names I don't even know. They tasted great! Do you think it's a pity not to go there and eat them?" She held the hot fried rice and recommended warmly, "I just made this, and there are shrimps in it. You can just take it as lobsters."

She scooped up a spoonful of fried rice with a spoon, pretending to be fierce, "Let's make a deal first. Don't throw it away, or I won't make it easy for you." The spoon in her hand slowly moved towards Bob.

"Put the meal down. You go out." Bob ordered coldly.

Emma reacted for a while, breathed a sigh of relief, and replied, "Huh!"

This was a good thing, wasn't it? Who wanted to feed a grumpy giant baby anyway?

"Then I'll leave you to eat, and I'll fetch the tableware later."

Bob didn't respond, so she assumed he acquiesced.

When Emma returned to the kitchen, she felt unfair. There were so many good dishes on the table just now, but she barely ate them. The family members didn't seem to be able to eat a lot, so it was quite likely that there were leftovers.

Looking at the fried rice on her plate, she felt the gap between the rich and the poor was too large.

"Getting rich is the only way to relieve worries." Emma swallowed a mouthful of food angrily.
