Chapter 4 The Guy in the Wheelchair

Dinner?

Emma was taken aback, and answered honestly, "No."

Mrs. Turner frowned and asked angrily, "Why don't you go now?"

Thinking of the agreement, Emma realized that her behavior had "breached of contract", so she put down her chopsticks, "I'm on it then."

Although she knew that Mrs. Turner was trying to "drive her away", she still felt relieved when she thought that she could have a reason to leave this embarrassing place. It was nice to have Joy by her side, but she felt sick to have these women playing tricks besides.

She got up and bowed, retreating from the family banquet that she was excluded from.

After leaving the main entrance, it was evening outside, and the fish pond was dotted with lights of various colors, which was very beautiful.

Emma sighed, "Oh, sister, what have you experienced before? Why did you sign such an undignified agreement?"

At first sight, she knew those women were not kind at all. She then recalled the wounds on her sister's body, assuming that it must be done by someone in this family. So she bore this in mind and decided to find out the truth later so that she could revenge her sister.

She had to admit that all those years of being dumb almost suffocated her. Since she bore all her anger in her heart and had nowhere to vent, she had to beat her opponent no matter it was a boy or a girl. As long as they had a sharp mouth or offended her, especially if they bullied her sister Judy, Emma would rush forward and beat them up as if she was triggered.

In her heart, nobody was allowed to bully her sister, who was her bottom line since childhood!

"Judy, you are brave, aren't you?" Mike, who had been waiting in the yard for a long time, called her, "Did the meal go well?"

Well, why did he bother to ask? She had already come out alone.

But it didn't matter. Emma walked up to him and asked, "Mike, why did my elder sister sign such an agreement?"

Mike was taken aback, "Your elder sister?"

Mike judged that she was really suffering the sequelae of the car accident, so he had to explain to her patiently.

He refused to receive treatment, stopped eating to resist anyone's concern for a long time, and even his parents were not allowed to come close.

Mr. Turner reasoned with him with affection, hoping that his son could cheer up, but it didn't work at all. Given the situation, Mrs. Turner was out of choice, so she had to find a well-known necromancer in the circle to help.

The necromancer came to take a look at Bob, saying that his birth time was so weird that he was lucky to just get injured like this. If he didn't get married in time to bring him some fortune, he might be soon buried in the grave.

After hearing these words, Mrs. Turner was almost incontinent without fright, so she hurriedly asked the person how to find the right one to bring her son good fortune.

The necromancer listed the requirements, saying that he needed to marry a girl who was born in the year of pig, the day of Gui and Mao (China's ancient calendar for time measurement), and the hour between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Also, she must have a mole on her right earlobe.

The Turner Family didn't give up, and indirectly contacted Judy's father, William Carter, offering him a 200,000 commission a year. After Judy's father heard it was a profitable business, he did not hesitate at all and unilaterally accepted the job for his daughter.

That was all Mike knew. As for how William persuaded his daughter, Mike had no idea.

Emma pondered for a moment and asked, "So, Bob is the guy in the wheelchair, right?"

"Yes, but you can't call him a guy. You have to call him Mr. Turner or President Turner."

Emma was eager to ask her sister immediately, so she said, "You have to take me to the hospital tomorrow."

"Okay, I'll let you know when the time is right."

Returning to the small building where Bob was, Emma found the kitchen and wondered what to cook for the irritable guy.

She saw half a pot of rice in the rice cooker, assuming that it was probably leftovers that the maid had cooked today. Then she opened the refrigerator door and found a few side dishes.

Very good! She could just make him fried rice, which she was good at at least.

Fifteen minutes later, the dinner for the two was ready. Emma walked to the door of Bob's room with the plates.

She just raised her hand to knock on the door, but stopped in mid-air, thinking to herself that the guy was in a rebellious period. Hearing a knock on the door would make herself the one who was driven away by him. It would be better to go directly in, put down the meal, and leave. Then she could take it as she finished her job. Whether he ate it or not, it was none of her business.

Emma lowered her left hand, grabbed the doorknob, and twisted it lightly. She held it open and walked in.

When Emma saw Bob, she was taken aback on the spot.

She couldn't believe her eyes. Bob, who yelled at the maid not long ago, was now lying on the ground, his wheelchair turning sideways. He grabbed the edge of the bed angrily and wanted to stand up, but he failed because his legs were numb. So after a long period of effort, he only got a face of sweat.
