Chapter 5 Mr. Nelson

Scared out of their wits, the crowd crouched down and covered their heads, not daring to make a sound.

The leader of the soldiers reached for his walkie-talkie and barked orders.

"Squad one, cover the sky! The rest of you, barricade the hospital and don't let anyone leave!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a deafening roar came from above.

Everyone looked up curiously and saw something white flying in the sky in the distance.

The deafening sound was getting closer and closer, and the wind brought by it cut right through the air, stirring up the fallen leaves on the ground.

"Helicopters!" someone shouted in surprise.

More than a dozen white helicopters hovered in the sky, surrounding the hospital building.

"Hey! Aren't those...? They're battle choppers! Those are from the army!"

Hearing this, the others gasped in shock.

They had never seen such a scene before.

The director of the hospital and the rest of the board all rushed out to see what was going on.

The helicopters continued to roar deafeningly, circling above the hospital like vultures.

Suddenly, rope ladders were thrown down from the helicopters, and a dozen well-trained soldiers descended from above.

Some of them landed on the rooftop, while others smashed through windows of the hospital and rushed in.

"Clear! All clear over here!" Soon, all the entrances and exits of the hospital were barricaded, and then the leader of the troops reported back.

One of the helicopters landed steadily on the cleared-out square in front of the hospital's gate.

An old man disembarked, followed by several bodyguards in black.

"We have everything under control, sir. Our men are on stand-by." The leader of the soldiers saluted the old man with respect.

The old man had a worn, weathered-down face, but his eyes were as sharp as an eagle's.

He was wearing a classic tuxedo and even had white gloves on.

And the six buff bodyguards behind him formed an impenetrable wall.

The director and the rest of the board hurried forward to greet the man.

Percy had no time to care about Patrick. He wanted to get acquainted with this bigwig.

"What can I do for you, sir?" the director asked respectfully.

The old man's sharp eyes swept across the crowd. Ignoring the director, he brushed past them and walked straight to Patrick and his mother.

Seeing this, Percy hurriedly approached.

"Get out of the way!" Percy shouted at the crowd, flailing his arms wildly.

When he saw Patrick and his mother blocking the gate, his temper flared up and he rushed up to them and barked, "I said, get out of the way! Guards, get them out of my sight!"

The old man's eyes widened in shock as he heard this. He strode forward and slapped Percy across the face, sending him flying back a few meters.

The old man already held back, but the blow was enough to knock out several of Percy's teeth.

"Ah!" Writhing on the ground, Percy groaned in pain. Looking at the blood-covered teeth scattered on the ground, he was in a daze, wondering what had just happened.

Everyone else was just as confused. Just then, the old man and the bodyguards behind him bowed deeply to Patrick and said in a booming voice, "Sorry we are late, Mr. Nelson. Please punish us as you see fit!"

The people around were shocked to the core.

They wondered who Patrick was.

However, even Patrick himself was also stunned.

What was going on? Why were they so respectful toward him? Was he dreaming? Or was this some sort of prank for a TV show?

But before Patrick could think too much, one of the armed soldiers whipped out a first-aid kit and proceeded to treat the cut on Patrick's forehead.

Meanwhile, the old man gestured at Laura and barked, "Take her to the best ward!"

"Yes, sir!" Two of the soldiers saluted promptly and carefully carried Laura away.

Just then, the old man noticed the muddy footprint on Patrick's chest.

"Who dared to kick Mr. Nelson?" he roared angrily.
