Chapter 10 -10

Elliot immediately lossed his tie and sighed the moment he got into the car

"You won't be going to any meetings with me from now on" he said

"Why?" Alexia snapped she couldn't understand why he suddenly said that, she can't possibly just be in the office all the time just reading and signing documents, she'll get sick with boredom. Just then Alexia recalled something from earlier and smiled. Elliot caught her smiling and thought maybe she was smiling cause of Rick and the anger which has dissipated a little rose again he could swear he had never gotten this angry in his life before

"I would appreciate it if you'd come out dressed decently like a business woman next time and not some cheap whore desperately in need of client. I won't have you tarnish the reputation of my company" Elliot said acidly

He was burning with anger that he just said what he did without thinking a second about how it would sound

The car was dead silent and even the music that was initially playing at the background couldn't be heard at this moment. To Alexia, Elliot's words felt a large rock thrown into a very still water causing a very big uproar. She was stunned and for a moment her brain was thrown into a state of inactivity as she tried her best to stay calm, she has had a lot of swears and curses thrown at her since she was little, so she was immune to it -or so she thought. She couldn't be calm for long at least not when she's still in the same space as him

"Stop the car" suddenly she spoke .

The atmosphere in the car changed immediately, as if the temperature dropped a few degree and even though the AC was on everywhere felt oddly hot. There was an aura emanating from Alexia which Elliot didn't fail to notice, he had never seen her that way before not even on the first day they met, he knew he had gone too far with his words but there was close to nothing he could do right now.

Harry turned to look at his boss through the rearview mirror, he was hesitant to stop the car cause of two reasons. First, it was already dark and secondly, she may not be able to get a cab from here at this time so he waited to receive permission from Elliot on whether to stop or keep moving

"Stop the car" this time, it was Elliot who spoke and Harry had to pull. Alexia got down as soon as the car stopped and walked away.

Elliot sighed the moment she left, he closed his eyes and rubbed his fingers on his temple frustratedly. He couldn't figure out what was exactly wrong with him, why he got so angry at the thought of her thinking about Rick and why he got so pissed at how Rick was staring lustfully at her. He knew this shouldn't bother him and he didn't understand why it did. No matter how he sees it, he has no justification about his words or actions so when Alexia wanted to leave the car he didn't stop her, he needed space too. Just then he picked up his phone and made a call

"cancel all contract we have with the Hutton company...yes that as well ... just pay whatever compensation there is.." he hanged up

It was past 9:00pm and the night was already so dark yet Alexia decided to walk home, she knew it would take her about 40 minutes to get home but she wasn't bothered. She felt she needed a diversional therapy and right now walking is what she needs. However it seems like the weather was against her as it started to rain. Alexia walked under the rain not minding how ruthlessly it fell on her, it was as if the rain was scolding her for walking alone across the street cause right at this moment she looked vulnerable. After few minutes, the rain stopped as if finally agreeing to work in harmony with her. Just then her mind flashed back to the event in the restaurant what amused her was the fact that the most loved and cherished Rick Hutton couldn't recognize his sister -well step sister actually .. Alexia expected his reaction anyways, thanks to the event from 5 years ago she was left with huge hideous scars on her making her look unrecognizable.. she was advised by her therapist to undergo a surgery which she did and right now, she looked a lot different from the Alexia Hutton which got missing some time ago. She had gotten all the information she needed about the Hutton family and now she just needs the right time and opportunity to use it . She was going to make them pay for everything they did to her.

Still lost in her own thoughts her phone rang, the sound of the ringing phone jolted Alexia back into reality she looked at the caller ID and smiled

"Hello Alex.." the ever happy enthusiastic voice of Kelly sounded through the phone

"Hello Kelly" Alexia responded trying her best to sound natural

"Oh goodness what's wrong with you dear" The very observant Kelly asked. No matter how Alex tried to sound natural she could still detect something was amiss

"Hey tell me, are you sick??" Kelly asked further when she got no response the first time

"I'm fine girl...just a little bit tired from work that's all" Alexia responded evasively. she couldn't tell her Elliot called her a whore or she'll

immediately fly down and have his balls by morning

"Where are you now?" Alexia asked further

"We just got into Portland yesterday and we'll be leaving for California by Saturday" Kelly responded

Kelly's new movie just got released recently and the entire crew members have been traveling here and there from country to country trying to do some promotions and stuffs.
