Chapter 7 -7

"you know how dad can be sometimes" Elisa said smiling as she watched her dad take Alexia away. "She's pretty" Elisa said further

Elliot, in all honesty wasn't the bit interested in whatever Elisa was saying, he needed to see his uncle right now to correct his mindset about the relationship between him and Alexia, he wasn't going to get his hopes up on something that's not true

"Elisa can you show me around" he suddenly said to Elisa

"alright let's go" she responded

Nathan took Alexia to the garden just outside the main house and they both sat in the very large circular chair at the center of the garden, as soon as they were settled Nathan spoke " I actually know you and my nephew don't have that kind of relationship, don't mind my outburst out there, it was just to tease that cold nephew of mine. I'm usually very playful and joke a lot so don't take it to heart and feel free to converse with me"

Thank goodness!.. Alexia subconscious spoke, she was very happy to find out that Nathan didn't think of her and Elliot that way, she had actually thought of explaining herself the moment she could but she was relieved she didn't need to anymore.

"Oh Pardon my manner. Nathan Cobb" Nathan spoke placing his hand on his chest in an introductory manner

"Alexia Brooke" Alexia responded

"Wow Alexia...can I call you Alex instead" Nathan asked smiling and Alexia nodded. She couldn't say no to him...he was acting like a young child and Alexia found it amusing

While Alexia and Nathan was having their conversation, Elisa was busy showing Elliot round the house

"can you just take me to uncle instead?" Elliot said looking impatient

"I'm sure he should be in the garden " Elisa said

"let's go" she added both moving towards the direction of the garden

"Uncle, I think your guest would be waiting for you" Elliot spoke as soon as he got to the garden

"oh my poor nephew, he can no longer wait to grab his woman away from me..my poor single heart" Nathan said placing his hand on his chest his sarcastic remark left the people around smiling except Elliot

"I'll see you after the party Alex" Nathan said and hurriedly left to the main house Elisa excuses herself too and went with her father

"Your uncle is really funny" Alexia said still smiling.

"I see you're having a nice time " Elliot said acidly making the smile on Alexia's face stiff

' How can someone make sure a simple sentence like this sound so cold' she thought

'Ka..ka..ka' Nathan made a sound with his glass cup attracting the attention of everyone in the hall

"hello everybody, I want to sincerely thank you all for taking out time out of your busy schedule to join me in my moment of celebration I would surely remember your kindness"

Nathan finished addressing the people and went towards Elliot

"boy you didn't ask about your parents" Nathan said

"mum already called saying they had some kind of emergency and had to leave before the party started" Elliot responded

Soon the party was over and everyone was ready to leave. Nathan, after saying goodbyes to the other guest sat in the living room with Alexia, Elisa and Elliot. During the party they barely had enough time to talk so Nathan decided to keep them a little after the party. He asked one of the servants to get them a bottle of wine and glasses but before their wine came they started talking

"so Alex" Nathan started "tell me about your parents"

Alexia paused a little and frowns as if having an internal struggle with herself then finally spoke "my father died when I was barely 5 and my mother passed on when I clocked 19" she responded

"Oh dear, am really sorry about that" Nathan spoke,

The servant brought the wine and glasses and Nathan opened the bottle and poured into the glasses passing each to everyone

"So how have you been able to cope all this while " Nathan asked further

"Well .. I moved away for sometime and just got back into the country recently" Alexia responded

All the while Alexia was conversing with Nathan, Elliot paid special attention to her, he knew she wouldn't give off any important information he was just trying to see if he could notice even a slight change in expression as she talked but she wasn't giving anything away.

"So Elisa I heard you've taken oven the company in the US as the CEO" Elliot said to Elisa

"Yes brother, since father is retiring I have to step in but I just feel like it too sudden" Elisa responded

"Don't worry you'll do just fine. I'll be helping you from my end" Elliot said calmly

Alexia couldn't help but notice how this people conversed like they were a real family she could see how Elliot became a whole new person in the presence of this two, he was very different from what she knew and just then she thought - I haven't seen his parents since I arrived weren't they supposed to attend the party?

"Alexia what's the problem, you barely touched your wine" Elisa said staring at the untouched drink in the glass.

Elliot who was drinking paused a little and paid keen attention to what Alexia's reply would be even though he could already guess her response

"Oh yeah I'm fine.. I usually have a very low tolerance for alcohol so I try my best to not consume at all, a little if I must" Alexia responded

"Let me get you a glass of juice then" Elisa offered and got on her feet prepared to go get the juice when Elliot stopped her "no Elisa it's pretty late already, we'll just be on our way"

"Uncle we'll really like to get going now congratulations once again" Elliot said

"No not yet" Nathan snapped, he was enjoying their company and didn't want them to leave so soon "it not too late and am sure Alex don't mind staying"

"No uncle, I'll come visit again some other time but right now we need to leave" Elliot said, this time sternly giving his uncle no room to negotiate.

"Alright let me walk you out" Nathan finally said realizing there was nothing he could do or say to change his nephew's mind. Nathan and Elisa walked Elliot and Alexia to the entrance of the house where Harry was already waiting for them. They said farewell and left.
