Chapter 7 I love you

Days passed but Solomon never showed up. Robert was cautiously monitoring Oliver whether in class or in the hostel. Meanwhile, a feud broke out between Dora and Vanessa. They both knew that they were crushing on Robert but he showed more affection for Dora which infused quite a bit of jealously into Vanessa.

The Saturday that Robert thought that she didn't see his restlessness when Dora was passing by as he was talking to Vanessa was actually an unlucky day for him because she actually saw them but chose to ignored them. She didn't want to cause a scene but she had no intention of letting it roll off her back.

On Thursday morning as the geography teacher left the grade11 science class after the lesson Dora walked over to Vanessa's seat with a bad expression and stared at her angrily.

"Stay away from Robert or I'll show you what it means to be ripped to pieces", she threatened and threw her a mean look.

"Dora there's no need to waste you time blabbering before me cus sooner than later I'll snatch your man away and all you would do is just standing and staring". Vanessa smirked.

"Oh we'll see about that", she turned around and left. Oliver walked into the science class and walked over to her seat.

"Vanessa I want to ask you something". He stood beside her and stroked her hair.

"if it's about being your girlfriend I'm so sorry I have a boy..." Oliver placed his finger on her lips and shushed her.

"It's not about that, who has time for that these days?, Anyway I want to ask you a simple question, is your surname really Lewis?" She looked at him as if he was the most stupid thing in the entire universe.

"Ofcourse it is, why asking?", she looked away from him and faced her desk thinking that he was indirectly trying to ask her out.

"Nothing just wanted to know". He grinned and left not waiting for her reply.

Dora walked into Robert's class and went straight for his locker looking pissed. She stood before him and glared at him but he glared back disoriented. She took a chair beside her and sat down facing him still staring.

"Robert?, Robert!,has that girl enchanted you?",Poison called from inside his head but Robert sent a telepathic message to him.

"Don't worry, we're just having a staring contest, actually it's a game we love playing", He let out an abrupt shout as she hit his knees.

"What was that for?", he asked massaging his right knee but he actually felt nothing cus the pain disappeared as it came thanks to Poison's powers.

"Robert I want you to be sincere",she began and tears gathered slowly in her eyes.

"I will, I will! please don't cry ,it pains my heart to see you cry",he said as he took out his handkerchief and wiped the tears off her cheeks.

"Robert do you love me?" Robert stopped wiping her face as he took a deep breath. The question sounded like a bomb blast to him. He looked around the class and saw everyone scampering to their seats and Robert knew that a teacher was coming.

"Dora you should probably get going Miss Green is coming to the class",He used that to avoid her question and he stood up to arrange his desk completely ignoring her looks.

"Dora please the seat belongs to me, Miss Green is coming for her class",Divine the class representative for grade 11 arts class informed her.

She stood up from the seat, threw Robert a disappointing look and left before the teacher arrived.

"Robert what did you do?" Poison asked. "You've been crushing on that girl for a while but she came to make you admit it but you just threw the opportunity away what the heck..?" Robert interrupted, "Poison as I have always said I don't want to have a girlfriend now pls don't peturb me about love again",he retorted with a tone of resignation.

"You should be out of your mind, think about it, there's no day you'll never tell me about how beautiful she is and how soft her cheeks are or how sweet her voice is, what do you think that means, mere admiration?,think about this Robert you just broke her heart and I'm sure she wouldn't have come here to ask you that question for no reason just think about it Robert, think!", Poison said and became silent.

Throughout the class Robert kept thinking about what Poison said. He realised that truly he really loved her and it wasn't just limited to infatuation.

Meanwhile Dora soberly walked to slowly to the science lab thinking about Robert's reaction to her questions over and over. She tried to justify it as timidity but she clearly saw that he reacted as if someone reminded him of a fearful incident. She walked to the window of the lab and admired the science materials in it while trying to forget about the previous happening.

After the class, Robert dashed out of his seat and raced over to the science class.He asked Jackson if he had seen Dora but he coldly replied that he saw her going to the lab. Robert zoomed off and Jackson cursed him inwardly."F*cking guy, I'll make sure you pay for what you did ,I think I should start targeting Dora for now, I see you are well inclined to her", He laughed evily and stared into the book he was reading.

Dora turned to go back to her class but she saw Robert running towards her. She turned around and began to walk towards the canteen instead.

"Dora wait!" He caught up with her and he held her right hand from behind but she shook her hands free and walked away not even sparing a glance at him, he held her again but this time tighter.

"Dora",He called as she struggled to free her hand.

"I love you". She looked at him as time seemed to have paused in her mind. It was her turn to be dumbfounded. She tried to surpress the tears welling in her eyes as she held his hands tightly. Unable to control her emotions,she hugged him tightly and let the tears flow,"Hmm Robs, your girl is really emotional",Poison couldn't help but comment on the scene before him.

"Would you just shut up, I'm having a moment", Robert scolded and hugged her back. They let go and Dora looked at him with ecstacy.

"Really?"she continued, "I've been waiting for this day for a while now",she wiped her eyes.

"How about we go to the canteen and celebrate", Robert suggested and took the lead towards the canteen.

As they were going Robert looked at the lab and saw Vanessa locking the lab's door as she glanced angrily at Dora. He looked upstairs to the art class and saw Oliver grinning. His eyes froze as Robert looked at him. Robert's eyes turned brown as his eyes locked on Oliver's. Oliver conveyed a telepathic message to him through Poison,"I hope she gets enough protection from you" the transmission ended "She always will!"he sent back.
