"Aurora, to be honest I'm Cedric McPherson, the Prince and the only heir to king Cecil, you are the girl I love, so kind meek, nice and I won't forget - a damsel. The first day I found you I fell in love with your character. I know I pretended to be villager and I lied about my back story to you, but if I didn't do that, I wouldn't have found you.
There are many princesses out there asking for my hand in marriage, but I choose you out of all because you are special and accepted me even when I wasn't rich, that's the perfect lady I've always wanted.
A girl that likes me for who I am not what I am, that's why I disguised as a villager and you were the one" he breathed in.
"I'm so sorry, I wanted to tell you today with a gift I bought but like I said I lost it" he chuckled a bit, tears could be seen in Aurora's eyes and that of her parents as well
"Mom, dad, I'm sorry I lied" he told them then turned to Aurora
"But the point of all this is because I want to ask you something Aurora" he knelt down on one knee.
"Will you make me the happiest man on earth and be my princess"He proposed to her and opened the ring case he bought and she smiled sniffing looking at him with tears of joy.
"Go girl" her aunt who was standing behind her said then she hugged her aunt, she looked at her parents who nodded in approval.
She walked up to him then said
"But you lied to me, how can I trust you"
"Well, I hereby promise that I won't ever lie to you, that's a pinky promise"
"That's right, he never breaks a pinky promise" Diego supported and she smiled
"Yes... yes I will" she answered then he put the ring on her middle finger, they didn't know there was a crowd watching them until they heard the applaud.
She kissed then hugged him tightly. Prince Cedric noticed his necklace on her neck
"Oh, you are my little thief" he whispered and she giggled still hugging him
"Why so?"
"You stole the necklace I bought for you" he said and she retorted
"I didn't steal it, I found it and it was gonna be mine either way" she retorted and they laughed, they finally disengaged and everyone went and congratulated them.
"Well, I guess since you are taken you won't buy me the drink again" Diego asked Aurora playfully
"Well..." she was saying when Cedric interrupted her
"No, she wouldn't, so back off" he said and they chuckled
"Oh, Classic Cedric"
Cedric was lucky the passerby at least told him where they went to, he was also relieved when he arrived just in time to stop her.
They later went to Aurora's house and her parents served everyone beer as a toast
"Well I guess I'll return tomorrow and tell everyone the wedding is cancelled" aurora's aunt told her mom when no-one was listening
"Sorry it had to turn out like this" she apologized
"It's fine, I'm happy for aurora" aunt said.
At the throne room, the messenger was reading a boring letter to the King and Queen, boring in the sense that they were groaning at interval. It was a letter from another kingdom asking for a bargain of resources.
But luckily they were saved when prince Cedric barged in
"Dad, I've got good news"
"Oh thank goodness" king Cecil heaved
"That's enough messenger boy, I need to talk to the prince now after you'll bring the letter again, some other time" "
"Or maybe never" queen Rodney said.
After the messenger left, the prince continued
"I did it King Cecil, in just 2 days at first I thought it'll be difficult, then I had a plan! Then that one backfired because of my friends, but then..."
"Cedric!" his mom snapped him out of his blabbing
"Right" he continued "What I'm trying to say is... I have found my bride"
His mom went to him
"I'm so proud of you my boy" she hugged him
"Hmm, I didn't know that'll be possible" king Cecil thought then said
"Your bride, can we see her?" Cedric nodded then called
"Aurora, you can come in now" aurora nervously walked in and the king beamed a smile
"So it's true" the King said to himself
She reached where the Prince was standing and did a curtsey.
"Good day your majesty" she referred to the king
"Good day your highness" she referred to the queen then raised her head gently
"Awn, my darling you're so beautiful" Queen Rodney complimented while touching her face
"Thank you, your highness"
The king didn't still say anything as he kept on looking at aurora who was dressed as a villager
"Where did you find her and why choose her?" he asked sternly and all eyes were on him, aurora staggered a bit.
Many thoughts wandered in her brain, why is the king acting this way? Does he despise commoners because that's what most royal people do.
"Well, I found her in the village, she helped me to get out of trouble, she was nice and kind to me even when she didn't know I was the prince, so I love her for that" he answered bluntly but the king didn't say anything but got up putting everyone in suspense
"Then..." he said keeping a straight face
"We've got ourself a princess named Aurora" he declared and everyone beamed happily.
At night, King Cecil was checking out something about an ancient tale in the library late at night, everyone was asleep.
He couldn't find what he was looking for then he decided he'll continue tomorrow, so he left the library. On his way to his room, he heard a creak sound on the roof then he looked up
"Hmm, those damn mice again" he uttered
"I'll call the exterminator tomorrow" when he looked down he flinched as he saw Queen Elizabeth in front of him.
"King Cecil, you are awake at this hour?" she said
"Well, I was checking something in the library" he said and chuckled while she gave a smile although it wasn't funny.
"Well, What are you doing here, Queen Elizabeth, it's late you should get some sleep" he told her
"I will, but king Cecil, I have a question to ask you" she said.
THE NEXT DAY - The prince was awoken by the bright sunlight pointing at his face, he wondered who was in his room that opened the curtains, so he woke up and saw his parents seated on a chair facing him.
He flickered his eyelashes and rub his eyes. They both looked angry
"Why the invasion?" he asked as he sat upright.
"You can't get married to Aurora, she's not a princess but a commoner" King Cecil blurted.
