Chapter 5 Silver necklace

"Well... you see" Diego started stammering, he wasn't quite sure if he should tell Queen Rodney what Cedric is up to, but he then had a second thought, well she is his mother, I'm sure she'll understand.

He exhaled deeply

"Queen Rodney, Prince Cedric just wants a simple bride that likes him for who he is and not because he's the prince" he explained simply.

"Wow, that's just it?" she asked and Diego nodded.

"That's smart of him, he has my support already" she beamed a smile, feeling so proud of Cedric.

Although she didn't get to choose her husband as a princess, she loves Cedric's idea.

Sanjay served tea to her and she had a sip before she got up

"But do you know where he is now?" she asked and they shook their heads.

Speaking of the devil, Cedric barge in excited, but then gasped when he saw his mom

"Mom!" he exclaimed.

He wasn't expecting to see her, in fact she was the last person he wanted to see because he knows she'll pull his ears again for leaving the house very early or for maybe distributing the grains but rather she beamed as she saw him

"Cedric.."

"Mom, I can explain" he cut her off and she furrowed her brow while heading to him.

"Mom I had to do that - don't pull my ears - at least I saved you guys the stress of deliveri..." before he could finish she hugged him

"Oh! A hug " Cedric said

"Oh Cedric, I'm so proud of you"

Not understanding what is going on, he hugged her back. While facing his friends, he mouthed

"What's going on?" and they shrugged mockingly and he scoffed.

"Mom, is everything alright?" he asked as they disengaged

"Come on, have a sit with me" she interpolated.

"Get him some tea" she told Sanjay

"No, it's fine, I'm good" he stopped him.

"So, what's wrong? You didn't answer" he inquired, she sighed and said

"When you said you were going to find a bride, your father and I thought you were going to travel the world from kingdoms to kingdoms to find the perfect princess, since the ones we brought for you aren't good enough.

But seeing what you did - You came back home last night and you delivered the villagers gifts to them, I realize you are not looking for a princess but a simple girl that loves you" she said and Diego furrowed his brows

"I told her that" he whispered to Sanjay and he chuckled.

"And that's a nice, brave and mature thing to do" she continued and Cedric couldn't believe he was that predictable.

His eyes drifted to his friends, how would his mom know all this, did they perhaps blab? He thought while he shot them a stare.

"Did you find her?" Queen Rodney asked jolting him

"Er...no... not really" he said.

She then got up to leave

"Oh yeah one more thing"

"Uh-huh "

"The Queen and princess of Urtwood, the ones you saw yesterday, don't let them see you, we told them you won't be available til your engagement party, so you know what to do and don't worry, your meals will be sent to your room" she told him and he saluted her

"Whatever you say, Queen Rodney".

Since it was a Monday morning, Aurora went to the bakery as usual, she has been working there for 3 years in contribution to the house budget

"You're late" Mr Macho her boss said worried, it was unlike her to be late.

She was actually late because Cedric visited.

"I'm so sorry Mr Macho, I had a thing that's why" she apologized and hurriedly entered the dressing room because she was blushing

"Stop it!" she said to herself in the mirror then wore her uniform and went out to work.

Mr Macho bakery was the biggest in all of Adrix, they were known for their delicious bread and pastries sometimes they even deliver to the palace.

Aurora started working with her colleagues.

Her friends - Den and Tracy were staring at her smirking

"What?" she asked puzzled.

"Come on, tell us what happened, why are you late?" they asked playfully

"It's nothing" she rolled her eyes and found herself blushing again.

"Oh no,stop" she said inaudibly to herself then her friends poked her

"You're blushing, come on tell us" Tracy said.

Aurora couldn't tell them she's blushing because a boy visited her one day and she thinks she likes him, that would be just weird, so she had to endure the horrible teasing.

But got lucky when their boss approached, because they stopped.

She was busy throughout the day but was finally done, she was glad that her friends forgot about the questions.

Her shift was finally over and she freshened up and left.

Heading home, she decided to buy a drink on her way.

Meanwhile,

In an expensive jewelry shop, Cedric, Diego and Sanjay were checking for a beautiful necklace, and a ring for his proposal, since he has 2 more days.

"Ugh, it'll be difficult to find a perfect jewelry here, why didn't you just call your Designers to bring in jewelry" Diego groaned and Cedric scoffed

"We have visitors Diego and calling the designer will create alarm that I'm available"

"What about this golden moon-shape necklace" Diego showed it to Cedric and held shot him a stare

"I told you, silver...silver Diego, silver" he emphasized

"Alright, alright" he said and returned it.

Cedric normally dresses like a villager whenever he visits the town, but he decided to dress like a prince today because visiting a fancy shop is only for rich people.

If a commoner enters the shop, they'll think he's there to steal 'That's their beliefs'

After much searching, Cedric found the perfect jewelry

"This is it" He showed it to them

"Are you kidding me?!" Diego half yelled.

"This is the same moon-shaped Necklace, but Silver" he snapped and Cedric chuckled

"Diego, I didn't say I hated what you showed me, I just didn't like the color" he said and went to the counter.

He found a ring as well, they were both then package for him.

He paid the money and left.

On his way out he bumped into a girl causing her drink to pour on his white shirts and his jewelries on the floor

"Oh no!" she exclaimed bending to carry the jewelry.

He gasped looking at his messed up cloth, she got up looking at his shirt

"Am so sorry" she handed over the bag not looking at him, then she reached for her napkin, Cedric's eyes widened as he saw her face, It was Aurora!

He immediately turned away

"I'm so sorry, let me clean it" she insisted scared because from his dressing, he's a rich person, although she hasn't seen his face.

Diego and Sanjay finally came out of the shop and gasped

"Whoa, Bro what happened?" Sanjay asked almost laughing then Diego looked at Aurora, the scared blonde

"You did this to the prince?" she covered her mouth and mouthed

"Oh no"

"It's fine, beautiful " Diego flirted.

"Let's go guys" Cedric finally said and started walking, Sanjay followed him.

"Please tell him I'm sorry" she begged

"It's fine, he doesn't get mad that easily" Diego said

"But you, beautiful..." he pointed at her

"...owes me a drink for spilling a drink on my friends" he said huskily and winked, she giggled

"Byeee" he waved at her and left.

She smacked her head

"How could you be so careless" she said to herself.

As she was about to move, she caught a glimpse of something on the floor - a beautiful moon-shaped silver necklace.

She picked it up

"Wow, this is a beautiful necklace, I think it belongs to the prince, it must've fallen when he bumped into me" She said while fiddling with it

"I'll have to return it "
