Chapter 6 The unexpected letter

At the palace, Cedric removed his Jacket and Sanjay helped him take off his shirt

"Let me get this to the Landry" he said going out of the room.

Diego entered immediately and Cedric glared at him

"Don't give me that look" Diego scoffed and pointed at the prince's condition

"None of this is my fault" he sat on the bed. Cedric sighed and wore his commoner outfit

"Now where are you off to again? To meet or find your lady?"Diego asked as he picked up a grape from the fruit basket and munch it

"The girl you were flirting with was my lady" Cedric said bluntly

"No way!" Diego gasped then laughed

"Is that why you ran away?"

"I didn't run, I didn't want her to see me as a prince yet" he corrected

"Oh, she doesn't even know you are a prince? You have a long way to go" Diego laughed.

Cedric then placed the box of jewelry on the table, he wants to give Aurora the necklace he bought, and hang out with her because he wants to propose tomorrow.

He opened the boxes and the one where the necklace was, was empty

"Where is it?" he muttered

"Where's what?" Sanjay asked as he came in.

"The necklace I bought, where is it?" he said glancing around. Cedric searched the floor, the bag and under the bed, but couldn't find it

"Maybe it's in the pocket of my white shirt" he said and rushed out

"Wait, it can't be.." Sanjay was saying then stopped when the prince left.

Cedric headed to the laundry room, but as he was about to turn a corner in the hall, he saw Elaina approaching and he immediately hid behind a curtain.

"Why do I have to be hiding from girls" he said weakly . Then it occurred to him that his white shirt doesn't have a pocket

"Darn it! "

AURORA'S HOUSE

"Mooooom, I'm back" she called as she entered the house, but it was quiet. Maybe they're sleeping or went out? Just then her mom came out to the living room

"Aurora, welcome" she grinned, her dad wasn't at home, he was still at work.

"I've got big news for you" she said hugging her

"Your aunt sent a postcard for you, you're going to get married to Basil"

"What!" she exclaimed shocked

"But mom, I don't want to get married to the guy, I don't even know him"

"You two were friends when you were young, you know Basil, he proposed to you and you promised to get married to him, now his parents wants it to finally happen"

"Mom, that was 20 years ago, we were just 4, we knew nothing" Aurora groaned and went into her room, she couldn't take the news lightly, she was enjoying her stay here and she met a new friend she likes, was that all going to fade away?

Why did this has to happen, she actually knew she was betrothed to Basil, but she never wanted it to come very soon.

When she realized she made a mistake by shouting, she went back to the living room and apologized

"Mom, I'm sorry I reacted that way, it's just that I would miss everyone and it made me sad" her mom hugged her

"You'll be alright, dear"

She decided to go for a walk, maybe tell everyone goodbye because tomorrow she was going to leave, but she did not know where to find Cedric.

She told her boss and friends goodbye, one after the other and when she was done, she went to the lake and sat on a bench crying, she didn't want to go.

"Hey!" she heard Cedric's voice called and immediately she cleaned her eyes

"Hey, Cedric" she said as she got up facing him

"What are you doing here"

"Well, just wanted to see the sunset" she said and sniffled. She found herself blurting softly

"Do you want to get married"

"Huh! Did you say something?" Cedric asked unsure of her question. She immediately shook her head vigorously.

"Aurora are you alright?" he asked her because she's acting strange and the sun wasn't going to set anytime soon.

Not waiting for her to answer

"Wait... what you need is a little fun" he dragged her and she smiled.

He went to the carnival, it was a small carnival, held by a rich person, everything and game was free.

They played games and won prizes. Then they get some cotton candy, he took hers and ran

"You can't get me" he chuckled and she chased After him, he hid at a corner.

"Cedric!" she called but he didn't answer. She saw his feet protruding out from where he was hiding, she shook her head and laughed silently.

She tiptoed to where he stood, Cedric put his head out to check if she passed suddenly their face met very close causing their lips to kiss, and their foreheads to smack each other.

"Ouch" they both grimaced as they touched their foreheads.

"Sooory" they said in unison and laughed. She took her cotton candy and said

"Found you" They had fun and finally it was night so they went to the beer parlor and had some beer, she doesn't drink much so she took one bottle to prevent getting drunk, Cedric as well.

They were at the counter "So, tomorrow, there'll be a horse riding competition at the palace, will you be there?" Cedric asked

"No, I won't make it" she said and Cedric nodded

"Jeez, you made me missed my sun set" Aurora brought up and Cedric chuckled

"So Aurora, why were you down earlier?" he asked still concerned and she smiled.

"It's nothing, I've forgotten all about it, because I had fun" she said and blushed immediately covering her cheeks to hide the blush. He saw it and chuckled

"I saw that" Cedric said and she laughed.

"Well I too, I'm down, I bought a pretty nice necklace for you, but it's missing" he pouted and she laughed

"It's alright" she hugged him

"OhYeah, I found something this afternoon, it belongs to..." she said reaching to her pocket, wanting to remove the necklace the Prince forgot, but Cedric's phone beep

"I guess, it's time to go, I got something I have to do, see you tomorrow" he told her and she gave a fake smile.

They said their goodbye and parted

"I'll miss you" she said to herself. Then removed the necklaces and fiddled

"I'll have to return this to the prince before i go" she said.

THE NEXT DAY

Very early around 6, she woke up and prepared, she went to the bakery, bread will be delivered to the castle this morning and she wanted to follow them there, so she can give someone the necklace to give the Prince.

Cedric and his friends went to the kitchen, he normally uses that entrance to leave, whenever he dresses like a villager

"Today is the day, don't worry she won't reject you" Diego said and Cedric raised a brow

"Are you seriously being sarcastic right now?"

"Of course" Diego cracked and Cedric chuckled shaking his head

"You wish"

Breads from Macho Factory, were being delivered to the castle, the chefs were offloading them inside

"Come on, let's go, we gotta hurry" Cedric told them as he headed for the door, he froze as he saw Aurora looking at them.
