Chapter 4 Scar across half the face

The girl in the reflection was different from the previous self. She had delicate features but with a sharp, healed scar on one side of her face. She was beautiful. The scar stretched across half of her face; she looked a bit ugly to some people. A woman's beauty is on her face and hair.

"I wish there was something I could do about your scar," Awinja said from behind her. They were friends, but she treated her like her master. No matter how many times she warned her, she still called master.

Her house was shabby when compared to other residents. Every two disciple had their rooms together. She was thrown to the end of the outer sect area. She didn't care. In fact, she liked it even more. No one could disturb her.

She didn't need to cultivate at all. All she had to do was log in to the system and complete assignments, and she was good.

She asked to go for a walk with Awinja, and it looked like everything was new to her. She could feel dense spiritual power flowing in her body. She could not feel the pain again. Her face was healing on its own but in slow progress.

She was located in a desolate and remote area in the sect. It was so huge. If anyone or anything were to attack them, they would be dead before they get saved.

She could see some green and beautiful scenes far from where they were from her memory. That's where the inner core disciples were residing. She wished to be among the students in that area.

They bumped into several male and female disciples on their way towards the Plaza. It was a distance from where they lived. Though other outer sect disciples were living that far, not all were picked on.

"See who we have here? Woo. The ugly duckling wishing to be a princess." One of the male disciples said, laughing out loud

"If I were her, I would just leave the sect. she is such a useless being."

"Let her be. She will not survive the assessment in the next month. She will be kicked out."

The mocking voices were too much, but she kept on smiling, looking ahead. She ignored them. It didn't involve her. Having lived in the 21st century, she was broad-minded.

The people were surprised. If it were before, she could jump at them and fight. Now, she was indifferent, and they noted the difference.

"Let's go and train. Let's not waste our time on useless people." One of the female disciples said and moved past them

"The nerve," Awinja said, snorting behind them.

"Why didn't you say that when they were here?" Lin could not help but laugh at her behavior.

"Well, I was just respecting you." Being exposed, Awinja could not come up with a better explanation

"Come up with a better excuse next time." Lin Morong said teasingly.

Awinja blushed, feeling embarrassed.

They headed to the bursting Plaza. It was flooded by the disciples all trying to get items that could help them with their cultivations. She rushed Awinja to go and check out on an Item that attracted her attention. It is a beautiful crystal.

Spirit gathering stone

It could help gather spirit energy from the surrounding environment

"That crystal was amazing. Let's check it out." Lin said to Awinja, dragging her around. Lin promised to live her life to the fullest and always be happy in this lifetime. She will only care about people that matter to her. All the rest are nothing to her.

She walked to the setup stand and looked at the crystal. She picked it to check, only for a hand to stop her.

"I will take it." A deep voice seemed familiar to her. To be precise, it was familiar to the original owner's memory. She changed her facial expression changed cold.

"Who said it's yours. I am going to take it. First come, first serve," She said to him and looked at the disciple selling.

"Do you even have the money to pay for it?" Another evil voice said behind him stirred up deep-rooted hatred within her. She didn't know that feeling. It was strange to her. It seemed the owner of her body really hated her to the core.

"Who are you to interfere in something that does not concern you," Lin answered back without even looking at her.

"You!" Not even in a second did Njeri Young thought Lin would talk to her like that. Where did she get the guts to talk to her as she pleased? She noted that she had changed the moment she went closer to her.

"Scram," Lin said to her, turning.

"Trash. Who said you could talk to her like that. Do you even deserve to stand before her?" Ekai John said to Lin in a cold voice

"Who cares? This is a public selling area. Anybody can buy whatever they want. If you don't want anyone to talk to her, why don't you carry her in your pocket?" Lin said coldly to John, indifferent

Ekai John was stunned. He had never seen her cold. She was always running to him and following him all around.

"Let's bid. Whoever wins, get the crystal," Ekai John suggested. He knew for sure she didn't have money with her.

"I have no time to waste with you. Take it if you want. You are not worth my time. I have better things to do. Excuse me. Awinja. Let's go."

"If you knew you could not afford why to bother arguing?" Njeri Young said behind her when they just took a few steps. She stopped for a second and walked away, not bothering with them. Their case had attracted lots of disciples in the Plaza. They gather, all talking and pointing at her. She was indifferent to all their accusation and exaggerated stories.

"John, what did you see in her? She doesn't even deserve to sit next to you." Njeri tried talking to him, but his sight was on the lean figure disappearing among the crowd. He somehow felt a painful tinge in his heart.

'She has changed since she woke up.'
