The man swung his sword again in force double, trouble swung each time Lin dodging like it was nothing.
The man was so embarrassed that he kept on messing with his movement.
The others did not watch the fight anymore and joined in. They wanted to get it over and done with before they were discovered.
They all jumped and surrounded her. A speeding sword swung at her, the cold, sharp wind passed by her head. Had she not been fast, she would be talking of a different story.
While the fight was on heat, a man in black was in the shadows watching and waiting to join when needed.
"Young girl, you really are something." The man in the dark said to himself, chuckling.
He was guarding her as instructed by his master. He noticed the figures approaching her but wanted to know how well she was versed in cultivation.
'Her attitude is outstanding. She would be a top cultivator in the future. No wonder boss feels connected to her. She also looks like that person.' He kept talking to himself, observing her movement. She was exhibiting strange movement.
'Swoosh'
'Swoosh'
'Swoosh'
There were blue, orange lights overlapping each other in the field from far. She did not give them time to touch even a strand of her hair. In alternative moves, she kicked one of the masked people down and hit another with the hilt of her sword before bend squatting down to stab the one on the ground.
"One down, five to go."
The others were becoming tired from all the movement. Everything seemed simple for her. In fact, she was playing around with them.
One of the men hiding under the mask gave off a cruel and dangerous feeling. He was stronger than the others. His eyes were filled with a vicious glint that could drive fear in one's heart. She wanted to see to what extent the man was trained. She swiftly moved with the newly trained footwork she was working on in the afternoon and stopped suddenly. She stood in the middle of them. The other four all stood where they were without moving an inch. The last man looked at them, confused. Only for the four people to fall down
"Thud"
"Thud"
"Thud"
"Thud'
He had risen his sword to attack, and for a moment, he remained in the same posture in bewilderment. He slowly dropped his sword at his side, looking at the people on the ground. In a panic, He looked at Lin, standing with the sword hung on her shoulder in terror.
"Who... are...? You?" He asked in uncertainty, looking deep at her taking steps back. The grass was already filled with dark black that changed the green color of the grass. The scent of blood covered the air. She had a few minutes to finish the guy off before someone sniffed the blood scent.
"You know me." She replied to the man taking small steps towards him. A playful smile was lingering at the corner of her lips. She pointed the sword to the ground, fresh blood dripping from its point.
The man showed cruelty and held his sword tightly.
'I don't care what skills you possess; I will finish you off." He said, taking swift steps forward. The hand holding the sword shifted at that moment, ready to finish her. His killing intent grew stronger seeing the dead bodies lying down on the ground.
Lin did not waste time also and swung to action
"Swoosh!"
"Clang!"
"Arg... Aah"
She swung her sword to the man and took out a dagger hidden within the grip of her hand. A cold wind passed by the man's body and suddenly felt sharp cold metal on his neck. Lin passed him in a one-step and stood right behind him. When the sword hit each other, she passed him. That's what the man in the dark saw.
He saw the man in a mask standing still and turning to face the girl in bewilderment before his body twisted and fell down.
"Woo. Girl, you have got moves. No wonder boss is interested in you." The man saints, a faint smile lingering on the corner of his mind.
Lin stood straight and turned to look at the bodies lying down on the ground. The dark clothes did not show the blood on them, but the ground had black spots. She sensed people approaching and disappeared in the dark at a fast speed. She entered her room, changed her clothes, cleansed herself with a spell, and slept.
On the other side, at the border of the sect, a few figures approached the area. They heard a faint sound of fighting from a long distance and rushed over.
They were the elders in charge of security in the outer sect. They were doing their daily night routine checkup. The faint scent of blood attracted their attention. They wanted to get to the root of everything.
They followed the scent of blood and found six dead bodies lying down on the ground. One of the elders crouched down to touch the blood, and he frowned.
"The blood is still warm. Sound the alarm. The intruder is still within the area." The elder said to the other elder and went ahead to check the other bodies. He checked them all and saw a necklace lying on the ground with the word Lin engraved.
"What's this?" He asked the other elder looking at the necklace
"It must've been for one of them or the assassin."
