Chapter 10 Shopping

Jane has been at home due to her leave and was bored to the bones when Nina suddenly called her. Surprised by her call, stunned Jane picked it

" praise heaven Nina. what's up? asked Jane

" let's go shopping. I need a third wheel"

" okay. thank God you called. I'm so bored. Welcome back from Russia Nina" said Jane

" okay. c'mon. you're going to meet him today "

" Oh. I'll pass thanks" said Jane

Jane never really thought Nina was ready to introduce him to them. besides, since he's rich, he might recognize her at a glance who knows, she wasn't ready to take that chance

" c'mon. don't be shy. it's his treat. please, Jane. Thea said she's busy not you too " pleaded Nina' not ready to be bailed on by her friends

" who wouldn't say yes to that. I'll be there in a few minutes" she hangs up.

minutes later...At the mall

she walks into the mall in casual wear and was busy looking for Nina but Nina saw her first by waving her hand

" over here Jane. why are you dressed like that huh," asked Nina who wasn't satisfied with her choice of clothes

" does it matter? so where's he? asked Jane looking forward to meeting the man that took her friend away from her

" he's over there. let's introduce you two. " she walked to him and introduced them to each other

" babe, meet Jane Miles: my best friend and Jane meet Arthur Salvatore Reeves, my man "

" nice to meet you miss Miles," said Arthur who recognized her from the software company and as Curtis Anderson Miles daughter

" likewise Mr. Reeves" Said Jane"

" Your face looks familiar. perhaps we have met before" said Arthur

" I don't think so . said Jane with a gloomy face thinking he's a flirt then walks to another's side of the boutique

" do you know her?. asked Nina who noticed he was staring at her

" yes. she looks like someone that did a wonderful job with my paperwork" smirked Arthur

"it's her. she works in a software company"

" I know I don't make mistake. I'll check the men clothes over there out " said Arthur while pointing to another maze of the boutique

He searched around looking for Jane then finally saw her

" What a shame," said Arthur

" What! I beg your pardon". said, Jane. who was surprised to see him all of a sudden

" you're Curtis Anderson Miles, daughter," said Arthur

" what! no, I'm not " denied Jane

" c'mon. your British accent is outdated. a blind man can tell you're from a wealthy family". said Arthur who couldn't understand what she was doing here and denying who she is.

" you got the wrong person. said an angry Jane surprised at his nosiness

" careful now. I owe some shares in your father's company" smirked Arthur

" what! excuse me please. " she tends to walk away to avoid him

" what I don't understand is why the talented daughter of Curtis is here in England far from home pretending to be someone else," said Arthur in almost a Loud voice then she halt, turn around, and walked to him

" I can see you're quite nosy. who I am and why I am here has nothing to do with you. so mind your business. " she retorted

"wow. a feisty one. I bet there's a concrete reason because your father lied to me about it. " he threatened

" Are you threatening me Mr. Reeves?" asked a stunned Jane who couldn't understand why he's been impulsive.

"I prefer Mr. Salvatore. and yes I'm threatening you. so make a tell and save your father some millions of dollars.' he

smirked.

" you scheming bastard. go to hell. she said and left in a hurry

Arthur smiled and kept wondering why her father had to lie to him when he asked about her. And she dares to walk out on him.

" what's wrong Jane," asked Nina as she saw her gloomy face. what? you don't like him?

'" no. " said Jane plainly

" What did he say to you? asked Nina

" nothing. I don't think she likes me " said Arthur

" you... I'll take my leave now. said, Jane

Arthur lowered his head to her ears and whispered into it with his breath tingling her

" maybe I should take those millions after all. no one will blame me for being ruthless. I gave you a chance "

Jane felt his threat or was it bullying. then she left angrily

" what did you say to her. ? are you flirting with her? asked Nina

" flirt? oh please. are you done shopping?? he scoffed

" I'm done. what did you say to her??

" at least you have the guts to speak out now. I thought I was dating a mute person. who always agree to everything I say." said Arthur

" mute? I don't say anything because I love you and that doesn't give you the right to flirt with my friend in front of me" yelled Nina

" love? flirt? I don't remember flirting with you before you became my girlfriend" he retorted

" Is this necessary? this is the twenty-first century. anything is possible" said Nina please let's go home

" just as I expected," said Arthur wondering why she can't express herself

" pay for the clothes. I'm tired. I need to talk to Jane"

" okay. let's go" he replied

knowing Nina so well . he knew she was going to the club which left him thinking maybe she was depressed because of him and he plans to settle that soon.
