Chapter 5 Who Allowed You to Enter This House

Joanna regretted it when she stepped out of the hotel.

One thing Owen said right was that she would end herself in the street if she left him without money and talent since she just left jail.

She was too proud to deal with Owen as well as to take the check away in the room. Now she thought she was indeed too naïve and hotheaded.

But she couldn't retreat her words.

After thinking for a while, Joanna decided to return home first.

Her father George Brown felt greatly humiliated and took the opportunity to sever the father-daughter relationship with her because she was sentenced to be in jail.

But it did not mean that she owned nothing of that home. Especially the property belonged to the Kelly family.

Thinking of her mother who had already passed away, Joanna clenched her fists even more tightly.

Mom, I would not let you die in such a way!

She swore in her heart.

"Well, I was wondering who came here. Is it the swindler who was a fancy woman and tried to cheat people's money but ended herself in prison? You are released now?"

Shirley Taylor, who was Joanna's stepmother, began to mock Joanna immediately, "Oh...Look at you. I can tell that the food in jail is pretty good and you don't lose any weight."

Three years ago, Joanna's mother had a car accident and was in dire need of money to save her life. Joanna rushed home to ask help from her father, yet Shirley refused her without hesitation and even did not allow Joanna to enter the house.

"Joanna, please don't blame my mother. She had her reasons."

Cindy Brown, Joanna's half-blooded sister ran out of the door and stopped Joanna and handed Joanna a card with a pitiful expression.

"He is my friend. You may ask for his help if you are in trouble."

Having no one else to turn to, Joanna dialed the number on the card. The man on the other side agreed to give her money. And as a return, Joanna should become his lover.

When Joanna negotiated the terms with the man, signed the contract, and got the money, the man's wife suddenly appeared with a lawyer and accused Joanna of racketeering.

Joanna did not realize the odd until she was in prison. And it was too late to change.

And now Joanna's eyes turned to red out of hate when she saw Shirley once more.

Yet she curved the corner of her mouth, "You may have a try if you want to."

Shirley should have a try of the taste of prison.

Shirley's expression changed suddenly, "You little whore, what are you talking about?"

Shirley wanted to slap Joanna when she saw Joanna's expression, but her wrist was held still before she could reach Joanna.

And Joanna was not the girl three years ago who was weak and did not dare to fight back.

"I just come back to take something with me, and I don't want to bother you. If you are clever enough, just give me those things, and then I will leave immediately." Joanna warned Shirley in a deep voice.

"What do you want? This is Brown's house and there is nothing you want." Shirley became alert when she heard Joanna's words.

"Help! George! George! Come here and see! This little whore should dare to beat me!"

Shirley shouted and struggled, and when George stepped out of the house, she suddenly leaned back and fell to the ground as if she had been pushed by Joanna.

"Joanna Kelly!"

George shouted with anger, rushed towards Joanna, and slapped in her face before helping Shirley on the ground.

"What a shame!" He was angry and pointed at the door. "Don't you feel ashamed to enter this house? Get out of here!"

And Joanna's face swelled as it was slapped twice on the same day.
