Chapter 5 Soft Skin

Boston's POV.

I was deep in sleep when I heard someone sniffing her nose and then a pulling sound leaving echoes into my ears. I wanted to sleep more and didn't want to wake up from the sweet dream I was having so I pulled my pillow to my ears and tightened my eyes and immersed myself fully into the dreamland.

I was in a majestic beautifully decorated mansion with servants everywhere, some cleaning the place, some making me meals, and some beautiful endowed ones helping me in the bathtub to clean and the only thing my hands were doing was, the right one holding a glass of wine and the other laying down.

After the bath, they helped me dress up in beautifully ironed pyjamas that smelt like a garden of nice scented flowers. They then walked me down to the dining room and then I saw two faceless women sitting on both sides of the table. I sat in the head chair and both of them quickly rose to serve me my meal. I wanted to tell them to allow me to serve myself but they kept piling my plate with various food and when there was no more space on the plate, they decided to feed me.

They started feeding me with the food and when my mouth was filled with enough food, I tried to stop them from feeding me the more but it wasn't what they wanted. So one held my head and opened my filled mouth and the other kept shoving the food down my throat. My eyes became red from the pain and discomfort and I started choking. I coughed out the food and wanted to stand up to leave but then I realized that I was tied to the chair.

Suddenly I felt an ache on my thigh and jolted up awake breathing out and looking everywhere and when I realized I was in my room, I breathed out heavily and gave out a sigh of relief. I looked at the person who saved me from the beautiful yet agonizing dream and saw Gloria looking down at me a little perplexed. She watched me for a while and I wasn't able to speak because the dream kept viewing in my eyes so she broke the silence and said,

"Brother we are leaving for the campus, remember that the landlord will be coming to the place today so you better start packing your clothes before you are sent out without anything."

I nodded towards her but she still stood there unmoving and I looked up at her and questioned,

"Is there anything else you want to tell me?"

She shook her head but then nodded and said,

"Whatever you were dreaming about, you better do something about it, you were acting on your bed as if your body rather than your soul was seeing whatever you were seeing. I hope mommy's pass doesn't affect you too much. Now, all that you have to focus on is your job and a place to lay your head and nothing else."

I looked at her doubtingly and questioned myself, "Am I the eldest son of the family, or she is?"

I glanced at her and she still had her expressionless face on and it was as if she didn't hear what I said so I pulled her in my arms even though she was resisting and kept my head on her shoulder and promised,

"I promise you that I am and will be fine, please concentrate on your studies and make sure you pass the rest of your exams with flying colours. Who knows, maybe I would be able to buy you a car as your graduation gift. Believe in your elder brother will you?"

She stood up and slapped my hand slightly now with a smile and nodded and started walking out of the place, but she looked back at me and said assuring,

"I believe that you would be a successful man one day but don't get my hopes too high."

She finished and rushed out. I should have gone out to watch them go but I couldn't see them off without breaking down. So I wanted them to leave quietly if not I might even stop them from going. Gloria was in her second year and Chris had just gotten admission and then it was my duty to keep them in the school till they graduate. But then I was about to get evacuated from the place I called home a few years back.

But then what was there to sorrow about? I had to get up and work my body and mind out to gain money for their tuition and for a place to stay. As of then, I had only thought of one place and that was my friend Amos's place. Even though my mother had warned me to stay away from him because of his behaviour, I had no choice but to his place or sleep on the streets.

I parked as many things as I could, including my mother's things that mattered to her, and made my way to his place which was about ten buildings away from my place. I came out of the house with three huge Eco lacs and decided to leave two at a convenience store right in front of the house and come back for them after taking the first one. Just as I was closing the road, I heard a car blaring its horn in my way and before I knew it, I was flying in the air and I landed right in front of the store. I then saw people rushing in my way and then a woman among them was the first to reach me.

She looked at my blurring eyes worriedly and started shouting but I couldn't hear anything she was saying before I felt lifted in the air once again and then the last thing I saw was this woman's face and soft skin behind my head.
