Chapter 3 Mommy's Boy

Mommy's Boy.

He is dressed in a black shirt and black trousers, his hair in a mess and his body looked tired, his shoes dirty and appeared tired as well. He continues walking into the wind even though others were running for shelter. The was getting dark and the sky spread with dark clouds, lightening stroked in every two seconds and teardrops of rain started falling but he didn't seem to notice his surrounding and if he did, he didn't seem to care.

One step at a time, with heavy steps, he moved on and messed his hair with a groan every now and then. Then the clouds couldn't wait any longer, the teardrops turned water drops and it started raining heavily. Another few steps forward and he stopped walking then suddenly, he dropped on his knees and as the thunder roared, he roared along with it as his tears along with the rain drops, he shouted with all his remaining strength,

"Argh!! Mom!!! How do I get to you?!! I am exhausted. I have walked a long journey yet the one before me seems longer!!"

Desperation and anxiety filled his lungs and heart so he started having difficulty in breathing, so he clutches his chest and breathed as fast as he could. One hand on his chest and the other on his knee, his bends over with his hair in the muddy water from the rain. It continued raining heavily but he cared less, the heavens seemed to be sympathizing with the man. A few minutes later in the same spot, it appeared as if he wasn't moving anymore. His rising and falling back had stopped moving but he gave the impression that he was steady.

The people who managed to make it to the shelter kept watching and wondering as to why a young man would be smearing in so much sorrow. So they kept whispering among each other but none of them had it in him to go and ask why. Seconds passed and minutes later, two young women drenched in rain were seen asking around among the people of a person. But they weren't getting the right answer so kept on desperately until finally, someone pointed to the man in the muddy water. They turned his way and as soon as they noticed him, hurriedly rushed to him.

One of the ladies stopped moving and the other went ahead to him to help him stand up, but he wasn't helping it seemed he wanted to stay there forever. The other standing by saw this and stomped her feet dejectedly and then shouted,

"Boston!! You better get up from there or you are going to be crying over me. I'm going to leave you alone with Chris when I leave from here without you."

When she gets no results after her speech, she looked away from him and grunted,

"Let's leave this coward here Chris, he's one weak specie that I have ever set my eyes on. Mommy's boy will always be mommy's boy."

The sooner the words left her lips, she turned to look at him to see his glowing and flaming eyes looking at her. She glares back at him then expressed,

It seems this one got to you, stop being a fool and let's go home. We can't afford all of us in the hospital because we grew sick been in the rain for too long.

Boston glared at the lady for awhile with stormy, teary red eyes and shaking body and couldn't help but threaten through gritting teeth,

"The next time I hear you call me a coward or a mommy's boy again; I will kill you myself."

The momentum at which he spoke made her take a step back, she wasn't someone who was easily threatened but this time she felt threatened and that too it was from her own brother.

The people gawked at the two girls as the support their now weak brother and make their way to their home. Unknowingly to them, there was one female dressed in beautiful expensive cloths watching the scene from a coffee shop nearby. She watched the man with pure admiration and lust lazed eyes, she looked at the man seductively and was thinking about something else far from the pity the others were having for the young man.

They arrived at their three-bedroom house and pushed their brother in the washroom to take a warm shower. And they also went to their room to change into a warm dress since the other clothes were soaked with the rain and returned to another room in the house. Pictures of the family could be seen on the wall of the room that; they had turned into a hall even though it looked like a single bedroom.

They sat on the only sofa in the room and gazed at the picture of an older woman with tears in their eyes and the younger looking girl laid her head on the shoulder of the other as tears rolled down her face. Minutes later, they realized their brother had been in his room for far too long. Different thoughts passed through their minds so they rushed to his door and we're ready to pounce into the room but just as their hands reached out to open the door, it opened by itself.

The young man opened the door now dressed in comfy home cloths and stared at his sisters and saw the worry in their eyes and finally, he forces a smile on his face. They see his smile and refreshed body and gave out a sigh of relief. He reaches out to them and gives them a big hug and leaves a peg on their heads with a smile on his face and then whispered,

"You are my world now, and I promise you, I will do all I can to take care of you so you won't have to miss her too much. Remember, your older brother loves you from the moon and back. Don't be too sad, you won't have to stay home anymore go back to your hostels."

The older one emerges from his embrace and look at him angrily and states as a matter of fact,

"I am not going back to school rather I am going to help cater for Christine."

He sighs and glances at Christine in his arms, she snuggles more closely and pouts her lips cutely, and then a proper smile appeared on his face. He pulled the other closer and proclaimed seriously,

"Gloria, you both are going back on campus and that too tomorrow. It's my decision as to your brother and you must respect it"
