Chapter 3 Rossi Estate

His Revenge

By Vicky Amy

Chapter 3

The locomotor finally pulled up during midday in New York.

Skylar blinked her eyes, trying to adjust with the blazing sunlight that penetrated the windowpane that she placed her head on last night.

The locomotor engine went off again, making her jerk up and look around.

The train was almost empty, the only people in it were those getting their stuff out and her.

She rubbed her eyes tiredly and then stretched her limbs, and then slouched her back a little and she let out a sigh of relief.

Her neck hurt like fuck after placing her head on the pane, what she needed now was a good deep sleep, and then with that, she slowly stood up and exited the train with her backpack.

Finally, I'm in the city, she smiled to herself as she walked aimlessly in the Moynihan train hall.

First, she needed to take a bath and good sleep. She walked into the streets of New York and looked everywhere.

Seeing the crystal clear pond, she rushed towards it and dug her hands inside the water, and splashed it in her face.

"Ah!"

She breathed in and out then looked at the tall buildings. The city was very beautiful and not hideous as she'd thought it would be.

Knowing nowhere in the city, she hailed a taxi to the nearest hotel.

The taxi finally stopped in front of a hotel and she got off and paid the driver off.

As she entered the hotel, she looked around in awe, careful not to bump into anyone.

She walked up to the desk and looked at the busty clerk who was busy with filing her nails and chewing a piece of bubble gum. She didn't take notice of Skylar till she hit the little bell on the desk.

She sat upright and faced Skylar with a huge grin, "Oh, hey," she said.

"How may I be of help?"

"I'd like to stay for a month here," she said

"Here, fill this," She said as she made handed her a piece of paper.

Skylar let out a sigh as she adjusted her backpack and took the desk own and began filling out the paper, leaving out the detail about her phone number and relations.

The bill was a total of a hundred and fifty dollars and Skylar brought out her laptop and made a quick transaction.

"Just received it, here's your key," the clerk said as she handed two keys attached to a shiny metal that had '201BE' written on it.

"Uhm, where can I find the room?" Skylar asked.

"The third floor," the clerk replied and then turned to attend to an elderly man.

Skylar carried her backpack and walked towards the stairs, stopping on the third floor and walking past almost every door before she finally got to the door that had '201BE' written on it.

She inserted the key in it and pushed open the door, getting in and looking around.

There was a medium-sized bed, a comfy blue sofa, a reading lamp, a fourteen inches long television, and a freaking bathroom.

She got in and pulled out her key before she slammed the door behind her, and threw her backpack on the bed.

Most of the day was spent in the warm bubble bath she'd made from the available bubble soap.

She could have stayed forever but then her stomach growled hungrily and she remembered that she hadn't taken real food for the last twelve-hour.

She wondered how her grandma was going to react when she figured out that she was gone. And there was no way of reaching to her as she'd made her phone drown in the lake, back in Ohio.

After taking a quick shower, she clothed herself with a red top and blue pants and ate the chocolate chips she'd bought earlier before slumping on the soft fluffy bed that bounced back.

This was the life she was fucking deprived of. And she was going to catch up on her sleep.

Later in the evening, she was awoken by a loud thud of her door. She lazily stood up and went to answer the door.

"Ma'am we noticed you've been in your room for quite a while and lunch is ready," The tall skinny man in a white suit and black pants said. It was obvious he worked here.

"Lunch? Give me some time," she said and then slammed the door to his face.

She splashed some water on her face and brought out her laptop and kept on on the enormous bed stand.

On reaching the cafeteria, there was a large tray of kinds of seafood, noodles, spinach, and drumstick and she tried out almost all the foods.

After lunch, she headed to the store opposite the road and brought with her, her laptop.

She purchased a few offices wear and then retired back to her bed after the exhausting day.

The next day,

Skylar was woken up by the loud crashing of metal stuff, followed by the horn of a squad car.

She rushed to the window and raised the shutter, the wind began winnowing her long hair.

She noticed people walking on the streets with neat suits and box bags. Remembering that she had work, she quickly rushed to the bathroom and had a quick shower.

After which she combed the tangles in her hair and packed it into a neat bun. She put on a white shirt and black blazer with a black skirt.

"God, I look weird," she said to herself as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.

Packing some stuff in the little black office hag she'd bought, she locked her door and flew all the way downstairs, and not forgetting to drop her key with the clerk.

There was a bus stop down the street and she hastily walked towards it, like every other person.

It was a busy Monday, and everyone was hoping to get on the next bus to their workplace.

She was dropped off at someplace, but it wasn't Rossi Estate.

"Ugh, geez, hey, this is not my stop," She said to the driver as she raised herself to be seen by the driver.

"Where's your stop?" He asked.

"Rossi Estate."

"That's a private estate," he said as he took off his cap.

Damn crap.

"Where can I find it?" She further went on to ask.

"Those taxi drivers know the place."

She huffed as she went on looking for an available taxi.

"Hey, Rossi Estate?" She asked as she waved at a taxi.

"You don't have to drive in, just stop me some meters away," she said.

"I wouldn't want my taxi to get confiscated," the driver said.

"I'll double your pay," she said with a pleading face and the man sighed before opening the door for her.

She got in and sighed in relief. This was not what she had in mind at all.

Soon, the driver pulled up in an empty road, "You'll see a huge sign that says Rossi Estate, that's the estate."

"Thanks."

She gave the driver double the pay like she'd said and then walked on the single pavement.

It wasn't long before she saw the sign and sighed in relief before running towards the gigantic gate.

She tried pulling it open, but it wouldn't budge then she waved her hand in front of a metal shining box that beeped red.

"Darn it!" She muttered.

The gates opened and a huge husky man walked in. He was dressed in black latex and had a bald head.

"Hey, what do you want here?!" He said to her.

"Uhm," she said and then fetched for her laptop in her bag, "I got a job application here, something like that."

"They ain't no job-" he passed and then listened to his mouthpiece and then nodded.

"K, follow me," he commanded and then briskly walked through the opened gates and Skylar followed behind.

The first thing she sighed in the foyer was a 50-foot exquisite mind-blowing sculpture of an elderly man in an unbelievable military-style suit with a rifle at his side approximately 10 feet tall with two humongous hounds standing beside him.

Then she lowered her eyes beneath the statue's sculpture and read the name inscribed.

Master Lorenzo Rossi.

The name was damn strange and then remembered it was an Italian company.

"Hey, you coming or what?!" The bald man said to her.

She snapped out of her thoughts and hurried behind him.

She looked up and there was a gorgeous building standing in front of her. Inside the building was to die for.

The reception looked like it was an aquarium and she had to pinch herself to breathe.

The walls were sparkling and the enormous chandelier was can't marvelous to behold.

"Wait here, I'll be right back," the bald man said and then briskly walked away.

There was no way she's letting this opportunity slide past her.

Everyone had serious expressions on, even the janitor.

"Oh lord," she muttered to herself.

The man later came back with two other men bigger than himself.

Skylar gulped and then abruptly stood up.

"She the one?" one of them asked.

"Yeah, let's go!" he said to her in his usual husky voice.

They made their way to the elevator and then pressed the green triangle that faced up.

The door made a ding sound and then it slowly opened. The scent of lavender filled her nostril and she grinned.

There was a husky guard in the elevator and she entered inside and rubbed her bare arms that were stung by the cold air.

Her stomach felt like it was having a backflip when the elevator took off. She looked behind her and saw that it was heading up and down looked so frightening.

How the hell does this work?!

After the moment of torment, the door finally opened and she clutched her stomach, daring not to slam her body against the wall.

"Wait here while we talk to the boss."
