Chapter 8 I came to apologise.

Hazel went to professor's room and knocked the door. Professor said to come in. She went inside and greeted her. Professor yelled at her in anger, "I had many hopes on your achievement. It would be great for our university too, if you have achieved a position in that laboratory. Why were you so careless to submit a rough paper as a report?"

Hazel apologised her and explained that it was accidental, as she was in a hurry. Hazel even emphasized that she has prepared a report but was unable to submit it. But professor was not in a position to listen to her explanation.

As a last chance Hazel has given the report which she has prepared by staying overnight. Professor took the report and said, "you can leave. I will contact you later."

Hazel came out but a feeling of despair filled her heart as she got rejected in interview and her professor yelled at her. So she called Aanya as she is the only one who can understand her better.

Aanya answered the call and recognised that Hazel was dull just by listening to her voice.She enquired what happened. But Hazel doesn't want to make her worried. So she said, "nothing, I am fine. Can we meet if you are free."

But Aanya replied that she needs to attend a client. Hazel was unhappy to listen that. So she said it's fine and hung up the call. But she doesn't want to go home. Though she told herself to be strong and believe in herself, she felt depressed.

If she will go to her house, she will be alone. So she will be more depressed for sure. So she decided not to go home. Suddenly she remembered a place and walked in that direction as it is near her university. When she was about to enter the building, she heard a familiar voice calling her name.

When she turned in the direction from where the sound came, she was surprised to see Rowen waving hand towards her and calling her name.

An hour ago, when Rowen has completed his work and about to submit his file to Aanya, he listened her speaking to someone in a call. So he thought of coming later.

When he was about to leave, he recognised that she is speaking to Hazel. So he thought of waiting there and listen. When the call was cut, he entered and asked Aanya what's the matter.

She said, "Hazel looks depressed. I think she didn't recover from her rejection in the interview. I think she went to that orphanage again and feels lonely again by seeing the happy faces of orphans there."

She sighed and took his report. When she was about to leave to meet the client a thought struck her mind. She turned to Rowen if he could go to Hazel and spend some time with her but Rowen said, "My friend called me and asked to meet him. There is some emergency. I need to go. Can you grant me permission?"

As there is no important work to do, Aanya allowed him to take leave and dropped her idea to ask him to meet Hazel. He came out of the office and thought of meeting Hazel. He thought, "as she is depressed, if I can cheer her up, we can become friends. Then it would be easy for me to know more about the experiment from her." Though he acted selfish, he took a wise decision.

As he knows her university name, he searched the orphanages near her home and university in the google. Luckily, there was only one orphanage near her university.

So he tried to check his luck by going to that orphanage. Time was in his hands at that moment and he came to that orphanage exactly in time.

When he called her, she gave him a surprised look. He approached her and asked, "Are you going into the orphanage?"

She nodded her head and about to go inside when he called her again and asked, "Can I come along with you?" She said, "As your wish. It allows everyone to enter." By saying that she directly entered the orphanage. He followed her.

She gave the fruits which she brought in the way to the caretaker present there and entered the rooms of the chldren. As soon as she entered, few children came running happily and hugged her. Her cold face was no longer there. She received them with broad smile.

Though he came here just to improve his relation with Hazel, he had a different feeling, which he doesn't know by seeing the smiling faces of children. Soon they went to the playing place present outside the building along with the children. He sat on a bench present there, while Hazel was playing with the children.

After a while, Sterling approached him and asked, "Do you come here usually?" He nodded as if saying no. When she was about to ask something, he said, "I came here to meet my friend. After meeting him, I was about to return home but I saw you on the way. So I came to you to apologise."
